I cannot believe that I had to add this business to Unilocal! I recall first going here in the early 80s with my family on the way to Whistler. I don’t even know how to define it,. it is a work of art in itself as it is covered in interesting projects including a big wall of plaster faces of people that live nearby. I guess I’d say it is an art gallery with a limited menu soup counter, but also serves as a community gathering space for live events. Much of it is carved out of wood and it always reminds me of a hall as described in Beowulf. It is worth coming here for a look at the building and art within(which is mostly photography of eagles and other wildlife). The food is extremely limited but very good. The menu includes«homemade soups and bread, filled croissants, veggies & dip, homemede Danish pastry, teas & espresso coffees, wine & beer.» that is literally the extent of it. We had borscht and the salmon soup and loved both, the bread was tasty! I’d like to try to check out a live performance here at some point, I bet the room would sound great.
