We went to The Overtime for a Stagette as we wanted a dry Stagette that was fun as the bride is 8 months pregnant. So we decided to go see the Dueling Pianos. Fun, right? The pianos were fantastic and the only reason that I am okay with a 1* rating. My only complaint would be that we didn’t know(as it was our first time) that tips get your songs played. That was a fail on our part. There were four of us and we each ordered a baseball sirloin. All four of the steaks came out and I looked at everyone else’s which looked very different(and better) than mine. I had ordered a baked potato on the side and the waitress said that my potato was lagging behind… kinda weird but okay. I took one bite of my steak and it was rotten and rancid. No exaggeration. I promptly ran to the bathroom and vomited for the next twenty minutes. When I returned, the waitress asked if I wanted to continue with my meal. I said no and asked them to take it away… like seriously, I was just violently ill from it, would anyone eat something that made them wretch? So she took the meal away. The manager came over and asked what the problem was. I told him that I was served a rancid steak. He said that they’d take it off the bill. I said okay and asked for a ginger ale to calm my stomach(as the girls wanted to stay for the pianos). He said okay. That was it. Now, I don’t believe in getting freebies… but they served me a rotten steak. I had one caesar prior to that steak, which I had to pay for and the only thing that I was given to compensate me for my troubles was a free ginger ale. That was a fail on The Overtime’s part. so, the moral of the story is, unless you’re just going for the pianos and some drinks, I’d skip Overtime… unless getting super sick is your deal.

With the recent change of the menu I am very disappointed. Previously they had the sort of menu and food where no matter what you ordered you couldn’t really go wrong. Now they have changed their menu from classic pub fare to a fancier gastropub type deal. They used to offer a good steak sandwich special. Well the special remains but the quality of the food has gone down. There was a half hour discrepancy between some of our party members meals coming out. Considering how good their food used to be and how often we frequented Overtime as a group. It’s really disappointing to say we likely won’t be back.

i found the food excellent and the pianos highly entertaining, however some of the patrons that seem to be there regularily seem to be out of control acting as if they own the can get quite out of hand howevere this is not the bars fault. the one thing i found was that the door men/security seemed to be on a power trip of sorts but other then that it was a great expierience!

This place is a little too much for me to handle. Given that the choice for bars is limited in ‘The Park’(although it has been getting better over the years), this place gets mental on the weekends — suffocating!!! It’s just way packed and you can barely move and everything is sticky — UCK — HAHA ok maybe I AM kind of a princess sometimes — MEH, I can accept that! I think the piano idea is really neat — something a little different and I would really enjoy it if I could see or hear it. Gotta say that the bathrooms are pretty fancy — like way more so than the bar itself which makes it kind of awkward… That all being said, I have many friends who are there every weekend cuz apparently it is the place to go on weekends in Sherwood Park?!

The service can really suffer when it gets late. This location gets very busy so the waitresses are constantly running, and sometimes it can be a good idea to order 2 drinks at a time because you may not see your server for a while. Another thing that bothers me is the lighting. It is very dark, even for a nightclub. Good food, reasonable prices(for a bar.)

it’s nice to see Sherwood Parks night life slowly growing. This Overtime location offers much of the same stuff the other ones offer which is decent food and good beer. I personally think the one on the south side is slowly losing its appeal and not many people go there anymore but this location is quite popular. At night it gets pretty packed with locals looking to enjoy themselves. They play good music and the service is good. Whether you come for food or stay for a drink the servers take good care of you and are really sociable. It makes for a good night.
