Great place to grab a quick meal at Aberdeen Mall in Richmond. The food comes super hot and is placed in a black stone plate. The food is delicious here and they are super quick! I also tried their fries here too and is really delicious!

Came here for lunch last weekend. It’s similar to Pepper Lunch where you get your meat and sides on a sizzling plate and it cooks while you wait. With all the different options at the Aberdeen food court, I always find myself coming here to eat because I love my meat. I ordered the AAA Teppan Pepper NY Striploin with an extra side of rice. The meat itself and the meal overall was pretty good. However, the downside is that the food did take quite a long time considering it’s food court food and I didn’t really get too full.

Very similar to Pepper Lunch that I’ve tried in Hong Kong. Ordered the rib eye beef teppan rice and it was a huge serving of rice with some beef, corn and a delicious egg! Only downside is that it is really oily when mixed together but what can you expect when you want the beef to cook on the pan in from of you?

The moment you stepped into the food court, you can smell their buttery rice on sizzling plate. I always get their AA beef combo + egg. For $ 10 you get the entre, drink and miso soup. Awesome deal. It’s always delicious but lately, I think it’s because they’re so busy that their stone plate is not as hot as it should be.

Not good at all. I got the beef special and the meat was flavorless, not tender, and mostly grissle. At 10 $ the amount of food you get is good, unfortunately that’s where it stops. I couldn’t even finish the dish. Won’t be coming back here.

Came on a Sunday, ordered the Daily Special — a set #1 beef that came with a miso soup and a drink. Almost didn’t get the drink without asking for it. The beef slices were good and the rice with butter sauce made everything work. Will come back once more.

First of all, let’s just say Aberdeen food court is one of my all time favorite food courts. Lots of tables and seats, kid friendly, tons of great choices. Teppan kitchen– I ordered the beef special– what a great deal $ 8.95 also includes the drink and miso soup. I added an egg and cheese to the dish and it was delicious. Lemon ribena 7up was good. There was a wait but worth it. Definitely going to try their other dishes.

recommend the unagi with rice, a nice seasoning, a bit peppery with corn & onions… I’d considered ordering again…

#1 Beef Teppan 4⁄5 stars I’ve tried the Spicy Sausage teppan before, and this one is just as good, if not better! I opted to add egg, cheese and garlic chips for an additional 0.75 each! The beef is served to you still partially uncooked. You cook the beef on the hot plate yourself by mixing the rice together. There were about eight pieces of beef. The beef was nicely sheared, flavourful and very tender. The rice itself has bits of scallions and corn. Once mixed together, the flavours of the beef, egg, and cheese go really well together! Don’t forget to add their sauces! My personal favourite is the garlic butter soy sauce. Each teppan comes with a complimentary miso soup. The miso soup was alright. It was a little too water downed. On the plus side, it didn’t taste like MSG.

Allergy friendly(seafood, shellfish, dairy, dairy-by products)! Out of all the restaurants in the food court, I was able to eat only at Teppan Kitchen! For about $ 9, you get a soda and miso soup with the meal. I couldn’t eat the miso soup(it has bonito) but otherwise, I had no reactions(immediate or delayed) and the food was awesome. The cooks understood that I couldn’t have any dairy or seafood/shellfish. I watched what was going on in the kitchen with a Hawk’s eye and a clean iron grill(teppan) was used, and no additional sauces or seasoning was placed on my meat. I love this place and there’s nothing else better than being able to eat a simple meal that is tasty and affordable. In a sea(no pun intended) of Asian restaurants, I *know* I can’t eat at, Teppan Kitchen was the lighthouse to my stomach.

This place reminds me of a chain in Asia called Pepper Lunch, except the chain in Asia has really perfected the art of fast teppan steak lunches. Teppan Kitchen, offers pretty much the same dishes, but they need to work on the flavor and preparation. The presentation and aromas from the dish were alluring, but the flavor was underwhelming — just didn’t pack a punch. Also, the iron plate should be piping hot to give the rice on the bottom that nice crunch. A little less sauce might help, by the time I sat down the rice was a little too soggy-squishy…that shouldn’t happen! In this case, quantity killed the quality. besides they have a bottle on the counter for those who want more sauce. I’ve been here twice, so I can’t say I just had a bad order that one time. Sadly, it is the only place of its kind that I’ve found here so far. So I really mean it when I say, I hope they pay attention to Unilocal comments. I miss my Pepper Lunch.

Lunch in Richmond usually means a quick trip to Aberdeen Centre mall for some sort of Asian delicacies. The sizzling rib eye beef teppan rice was impressive in its look alone. Once things cooled off, it was a great rice dish full of beef and sauce with crispy burnt ends mixed in. Aberdeen and its Asian mall food court is full of great lunch options of every kind. It can be overwhelming and a daunting challenge to choose.

Came here today for a late lunch with my dad. Good to have some daughter and daddy time at a mall. I couldn’t really choose what to eat but decided on this place cause i wanted to try something new. I got their daily special which was beef and rice on that sizzling plate. It smell so good. I think it’s worth it’s price for it. It’s got some kinda of fusion. Would definitely come back to this place.

I did not even see anything like that in Toronto. The price is cheap. We order 2 hot plate beef one with rice, another one is with linguini. Each cost $ 7.5 plus tax with $ 1 extra for linguini. Although it is in the Aberdeen Centre food court, each set lunch comes with an 8 – 9 inches tall drink that there are many kinds to choose from. Each dish is served with a hot metal plate sizzling all the way. The store is thoughtful enough to have a 2 inches tall paper wrap around the teppan. After eating the rice, the bottom is burn to form a rice crust that is another delicious food item. It is a nice lunch.

Had this in a foodcourt in Singapore and Jakarta, glad to find it here in Richmond as well. Ordered the Salmon Rice Plate with an Iced Tea — great combo and good portion as a light meal or like for us, an afternoon snack in between meals(that’s what we do on vacation, EAT). The salmon was fresh, cooked but not dry, garlic butter sauce makes rice taste amazing. Plentiful of seats. Now, if only every mall foodcourt in America has one of these chains then life would be bliss.

This place has become my favourite place to eat in the Aberdeen food court. Prices are decent and the portion will definitely fill you up. There’s different daily specials that includes a free drink. Their drinks are just typical chinese restaurant drink choices, nothing impressive but not bad either. Miso soup always comes with whatever you order. Wait time is not too long. One thing I must say is that I find that I need to stir the rice and meat around quite a bit, to get the meat all cooked as it isn’t well done when it comes to you, and the rice needs to be stirred so the teppan doesn’t make it too sticky and gritty. Some people like that though so I guess it’s a personal preference thing but I get real pissed off when food gets stuck on my teeth n then i spend an hour poking at it with my tongue to get it off after… other than the stirring effort i do love the food very much. I’ve had the ribeye and the pork which were both just delicious. They do put cracked pepper over it and I find that if you ask for a bit extra it has better flavouring. You can also get different kinds of sauces from the counter if you’d like. I’ve never had any of the sauces because I like my food more on the plain/original flavouring side but a lot of people do take them so I am assuming they don’t taste nasty. I’ve also had the linguini(?) their one pasta dish and it really was just mediocre. Tomato saucy with some small scallops and shrimps here and there. I think the rice dishes are better but if you want something different this is not bad but not anything impressive. Kind of a mediocre Old Spaghetti Factory dish, there’s nothing«teppan» about it. Remember to bring your teppan back to them after you eat! =)

I was craving some rice for lunch so I decided to give this place to try. I’m still a little bitter that this place took over my beloved egg puff shop but… I’ve cried my river, built the bridge and I’m slowly getting over it. I ordered the grilled spicy sausage and it was very flavorful but a bit on the salty side probably due to all the sauces they drizzle on top. I like the fact that you get to mix up the rice yourself to spread the flavor around as you like. It was a good amount of spicy and the portion was just right. Your rice comes with a side of miso soup and you can add a drink for $ 1. The order came out quickly and presentation was really decent for food court food. If you’re craving some teppan… this place is worth a try! FYI: They accept CREDITCARD&DEBIT! Yay!

Nice, innovative solution to food court food. There is a suggested way to eat this food, but anyway you like it is the best. Hot plate food in a food court conveniennce and at moderate prices. You get more rice than meat, but if the meat is top quality then maybe it’s not so bad afterall. However, you don’t get much meat. but do we really need that much meat? For me, I can’t really eat here. I can’t eat rice. Too bad so sad. I’m Asian and can’t eat rice. It’s my drug, my alchohol, my crutch. Yes, so sad. I love rice in more ways than one«wink wink» I love Chinese rice«wink wink» OK now that sounds pretty dumb. So what am i getting at hear? I like this place. I like the concept, but it’s not for me. My friend likes it, but then again she can eat rice. The sauces are pretty good too. In a western food court this will do well. In an Asian food court? maybe not as well with the competition providing items bigger, more meat for the same price or less. Mind you. ingredients are probably not the same and the car and consideration in prepping the food is not either. But in a place like Aberdeen’s food court, time will tell to see how well the consumers will adopt this new style of food court foods. I think it’s the way to go. It’s about time it got polished up and cleaned and professional. I’m not calling it sterile, but a clean look is a good thing. Welcome a new level of competition!
