Great location was empty almost when I went there and got greeted right away
I am happy to have it close to me

I love makeup and I love Sephora. I just don’t love this specific location. Don’t waste your time and go to metrotown or DT. They have never failed me! If you’re curious to know why I feel the way I do then continue on.
Most of the time the girls here seem bored and don’t seem to know what they’re talking about. I used to come in verryyyy often and I probably purchased items at least half the times I went in. ³⁄₁₀ times I’ll be helped or greeted. Sometimes I’ll try to approach someone and they turn around as if they’re thinking «oh crap… the costumer is coming I don’t want to help her!»
I sometimes wonder how some of the people get hired… For reasons such as the physical appearance and the lack of product knowledge. How do you expect me to take makeup tips and recommendations from people whose makeup doesn’t look put together?
Once, there was a girl who was helping me with some foundations. In the middle of our «consultation» she asked me to hold on for a minute. I thought she was going to grab another product or something. She called a girl over on her headset and then said, «I’m actually off now but, x will help you finish up.» This girl had no idea what was going on, and had to start back at the beginning. Explaining my skin type, my concerns, what I was looking for, etc. etc. Poor cs.
I recommended visiting only if you know exactly what you’re after.

Love this store. The girls there are always extremely friendly and helpful. Went in on Saturday to get my makeup done for my nephews wedding, along with the bride, and could not have been more pleased. The girls did a fabulous job and I got to walk away with not only my makeup done but $ 50 worth of product. Would highly recommend this location!!!

I am warming up to the fact that there is starting to get more central all inclusive locations to get some make-​up in a large almost department store atmosphere. Like the other locations, they carry most brands including a small limited section of important brands. Here is my issue, I have sensitive skin and I like to browse things by myself. I really don’t like to be «sold» an anything given my skin type. I love Sephora so why the 2… the sales lady was really really pushy with me. I don’t think she understood that I wanted to browse and that I have my own set of brands due to a skin allergy. I could only take so much before having the need to leave the store without properly browsing. I am assuming they work on commission just based on how pushy they were?

This location is not as crazy busy or packed as the Pacific Centre or Metrotown location which I greatly appreciate. Don’t need to fight to get through the aisles or extend my arm between bodies to try to grab a little product from the shelf to test.
The staff here are friendly but are not overly up in your business about trying to help you or give you advice when you are browsing the different shelves. Store is well maintained, organized and clean and are usually well stocked except when they have special events where you are lucky they even have products on the shelves.

I was just in here looking for cologne for my father a few days ago. By the looks of most of the other posts here I should have just never walked in.
I spent a good ²⁰⁄₂₅ minutes of smelling most of the colognes and walking around the store trying to find a staff member that wasn’t either busy with another customer or just walking around aimlessly. I did find one cologne that I did like there but there was no price sticker on it so i decided that that was enough wasted time if no one was going to help me and so I went to the Shoppers. Got amazing service from the girls there and they really truly helped me out. I don’t think I will be going back to sephora anytime soon.

Probably one of the worst Sephora stores in Lower Mainland.
The store isn’t big, and during shopping seasons they’re never fully stocked– I was looking for an Urban Decay lipstick and the display was half empty, which is tedious. It shouldn’t be that hard to restock a store this small.
The girls, although there are two or three that I’ve met that are super helpful, the rest are almost resentful of my existence, or so it seems. Granted, I didn’t enter the store with a Chanel purse, but I am a Rouge member regardless and I get «the look» when I ask for help with products. «Can you tell me more about Atelier Cologne?» «They’re very highly concentrated, meaning they last longer.» DOES THAT MEAN THIS BRAND WILL BE FOREVER IN BUSINESS? WHAT LAST LONGER? «Hi I am looking for bath products!» «I only have these Fresh cubes.» WAIT WHAT IS THAT SPARKLY BOTTLE OF PHILOSOPHY GEL I SEE BESIDE YOU??? «I’d like to be colour matched» «*brings me to Marc Jacobs counter* i think this is your colour» WHOA WHOA WHOA WHAT HAPPENED TO USING THE COLOUR IQ MACHINE?
Also! Worth noting is that I have NEVER been greeted upon entering! I’m 5’9″! I am as tall as the displays! HELLO???
You still get two stars cause you’re closest to my house and never questioned much when I returned products that cause allergies.

The workers here are mean girls, they don’t help people out of the interest or goodness of their heart. They only want to work there because it’s «SEPHORA». This one worker came to ‘help’ me find a brush, takes the brush i had in my hand, says «we don’t have that anymore» and leaves. Okay? She could have at least helped me with finding a similar one. She comes back after I asked for assistance, and points to a random one (nothing like the one I wanted). I said I wanted something similar to the one I had in my hand before. She turned around to leave she said «well sorry… (with attitude)». Goodness gracious! Are these the girls Sephora really wants to represent them? Honestly Sephora ditch the girls with attitude problems and get caring people instead. People buy because of products, not the girls! I ended buying a double-​end Basics brush (which I found on my own). I love this brush!

I hate shopping, and shopping for cosmetics is no different.
I had to come here because I was running low on eyebrow pigment. I walked into the store, first went to the skin care section to pick up a face wash. The beauty consultant warmly greeted me and that’s when I asked about the pigment which she kindly directed me to a makeup artist! D’oh moment for me. Skin care and make up are different so obviously I shouldn’t be talking make up to skin care specialist.
After the skin care specialist «handed me over» to Kamal, the make up artist, I told her what I was looking for. She was professional and recommended a product which she «tested» on me. The product she selected was bang on to what I was looking for. She did her job as a good sales representative by introducing me 3 other products, just for the brows! The first is a white waxy pen which is supposed to help your brow hair «stay», then you put on the powdered pigment, then a clear coat of «brow mascara», finishing off with a nude pigment pen which you apply on top and below your brow to accent the brows. She did her job as a make up consultant without trying to up sell me too hard (I hate hard sells). She made my shopping experience painless. I ended up only purchasing the face wash and the pigment which I originally came to the store for. Seriously 4 products for just eyebrows? No thanks.
The young girl at the casher counter was friendly and professional.

Out of the 3 sephora’s I regular go to, Richmond centre is by far my favourite. The pacific Centre sephora is too crowded, I can’t even find a sales person to help me, or help me find a product or even ask questions about something I want to buy… It’s too crazy and crowded. The Metrotown sephora is almost always out of the products I need… And one of the sales person was extremely rude to me when I asked about their caudelie product. (the only decent guy there is the perfume sales man who was very knowledgable about their products).
Therefore, my most fave sephora to go to is the Richmond centre one. It’s always fully stocked, with very helpful sales people, and they’re extremely knowledgeable, relatable and nice. The staff treats me like a values customer instead of a bug bothering their space. One time, I bought a bunch of products including a tiny travel size mascara and when I went home, it wasn’t in the bag… So I called the store and told them what happened. They were so apologetic and ensured me that they will set one aside for me to pick up at my earliest convenience. :)
So top marks for service and products.
Note: the security guards will only follow you around when you looks suspicious or are acting suspicious/​weird/​shady. I’ve never been followed around sephora — and I always carry a large longchamp bag.

Right when I walked in a mix of perfumes hit my nose hard. Like the place always reeks of strong scented perfumes. Its always like this in the rc Sephora. I had to quickly grab a eyeliner and book it out of there. The cashiers are really friendly but the workers walking around aren’t much of a help. Just too many things going on all over the place its like when you step out of rc Sephora you can breathe again.

I love this branch! All the staff are knowledgeable about their products and they give you a really good recommendation to a product if you haven’t tried any of their products yet. They are always happy and try to give you the best product that matches what you need.
One reviewer, P G, she doesn’t know what she is talking about. It is true that you can return any product that they carry BUT if you actually read the back of the receipt, it says that it is still up to the discretion of the store to accept your return or not. And you shouldn’t return anything that did not come from that store because it hurts their sales. Everybody knows this. Obviously this person never worked in retail before. And it pretty obvious that if the store is out of one product, you should ask one of the employees if they have any more in stock. You shouldn’t just rifle through their drawers like that! They have a system and you should respect that system. Always ask an employee before you do anything because they obviously know more about the store than you. If you want something, then ask! Don’t just stand there looking like an idiot because they can’t see you or they don’t know that you need help. They get annoyed at people like that because those people don’t respect their policies. The employees there are people too and they have a limit to what they can handle. But whenever I come in there and there is a stupid customer demanding for something that is impossible for them to give, the employees still keep their cool, never shouting, and always trying to appease the customer because honestly, the customer is not always right.
This is why I love this branch. They always try to improve and you can definitely see an inprovement from when they opened.

Sephora, you get some stars back. I’ve noticed a real difference in the customer service at this location. The store is clean and well-​stocked. The staff are engaging and friendly. Complicated returns are managed with relative ease and service comes with a smile.
Whatever it is they’re doing, they’re doing it well. I’m really happy to see the improvement.

This store is inconsistent with service. Sometimes I go in there and feel like I’m appreciated as a customer (reason for the 3 stars) and other times, like today, I feel like my business is not wanted. I love face products and if you are nice to me, I will most likely buy since I’m in there anyways. Today I was in this store looking for an alcohol free toner, I found a few but was really looking for advice on the right one for my skin type. There was one employee talking to her friend about her mother and a few more employees standing around. I tried to make eye contact, but it didn’t work… I was in this store for a good 10 minutes during a not so busy time… oh well they lost my business and I headed off somewhere else.

Last time I went, I was disappointed. I had received an email for a special item that I could redeem points for. It was on for only two or three days, but the item was already out of stock on the first evening. Really? They need to figure out their stocking budget better.
This time, I had a better experience. I was waiting I line, and an associate not at the cash register was able to help me right away, since I was the first one in line who was going to pay with a credit card. She took me to a makeup counter and did it on an iDevice, and the receipt printed from a contraption she had on her belt. I tried to use my iPhone Passbook for the first time (not long after the iOS6 update), but her iDevice wouldn’t read the barcode, and she had to just type in my email address. Oh well.

Unlike the other locations in the lower mainland, this Sephora is on the smaller side. They don’t carry all the products the other stores do, such as their Sephora brand shower gels and lotions. I came in looking for a bright coral lipstick and the girl was very helpful in comparing brands, textures, pigment, and scent. I never thought I’d go home with a Kat Von D lipstick but I love how it looks.
I’ve never had sales reps follow me around or badger me like other reviewers mention. They say hello and that’s it. I come to this location often because it is convenient. I can walk here if I wanted to. The only thing I’m disappointed about is that, not just this location, but they stopped carrying Bourjois brand. It was kitsch, colourful, and affordable.

The customer service here sucks, and they treat their V.I.B’s like crap.
When they had a VIB event for free sample bag + umbrella, they totally tried to troll me.
When I purchased my stuff, the sales associate did not give me an umbrella. Naturally, I questioned why. She said that customers were at the mall since 9am and they were all sold out. Fair enough. It was my fault I shopped later in the day.
I walked past the store again later, and I saw a girl coming out with an umbrella. That spiked my curiosity. Then I saw another girl with an umbrella. I was getting curious so I went into Sephora. I stood near the Benefit area, where you can see the area behind cashiers, and I saw umbrellas.
So I went to another sales associate and this is the conversation:
Me: «Hi, I purchased something earlier as a V.I.B, but I never got an umbrella!»
Sales A: «Oh really? I think we ran out of them earlier.»
Me: «Are you sure? I just saw a lady walk out with one.»
Sales B comes over: «‘I think there’s three left, isn’t there?»
Sales A: «No, it’s sold.»
Me: «But I saw someone go out with one.»
Sales A:“I’ll go check.“
Sales A comes back with an umbrella and apologizes and says I should’ve gotten one, after I showed her my receipt.
Seriously? If I didn’t say I saw someone walk out with an umbrella, they would’ve found an excuse to push me away. I never liked the location at Richmond Centre, but this lack of customer care and service seriously turned me off. I won’t be coming back anymore. I rather take the skytrain to go to a better Sephora with better service.
Also– when I returned something there, they asked why and stuff. When I went to return stuff at pacific centre location, they didn’t ask questions, except if I used it or not.
This location is the worst! All the sales associates focus on trying makeup on themselves, gossiping amongst themselves… ignorant, arrogant, and rude!

I get followed around pretty much every time I step inside, they think that just because I have a big bag, and look young that I am going to steal something. They look over the aisles at me *insert weird, awkward eye contact here* They give me attitude at times, and also, [most] aren’t knowledgeable in anything. When I do talk to them, many of them just seem uninterested in their jobs… well work somewhere else then! I am not basing this on a one time encounter, either… this is been happening many times since the store opened.
I asked for a opinion in hair care products because I didn’t know anything about it. The first woman didn’t have a clue, and went from brand to brand. The second woman offered me a brand that seriously made my voluminous, curly hair, look flat, oily and limp…
I also asked a cashier about something. Then she had to use her headset, to get someone to see if they had it. As she explained it, the other employee wasn’t getting what she was saying. I just said one thing, and in the rudest tone shes like «I know.» Well if you know, why don’t you tell her then. Hmmm?
I asked about tinted moisturizer, the woman seem annoyed with me asking about… if it’s not visible in the store, I am not allowed to go through your drawers to get it…
I could go on and on, but I’ll stop…
However they carry most of the brands that other Sephora’s in Canada carry, and the store is big enough.
I have bought stuff from them, but I don’t like spending my money at a store where they don’t deserve it. This store will be receiving the bulk of my returns, ;)
Just do yourself a favor and go to the Sephora in Pacific Centre, where your business will be valued, and where the employees know their products.
Oh also I should add, ALL Sephora’s accept returns on used items. Yes, if you used a product and find that it doesn’t suit your needs… because really, how can you see if a serum is working after 2 nights… you can bring it back for a FULL refund, if you have your receipt. Even after a few months, if you still have something you can return it… and if you don’t have the receipt, Sephora will issue you a credit, provided you have government issued picture identification. Don’t let them make you feel weird about this either, it’s a French company and this is how the French operate. :)

A Sephora in Richmond Center, finally!
Sephora is always a good place to go to get the basic cosmetics. They carry many brands, and they also have their own brands. I also like the Sephora exclusives, and the Christmas gift sets always make a good present.
The staff here are usually helpful, and it’s always hard to choose a perfect item out of the countless available. Finding that perfect red lipstick, the perfect mascara… they’ll help you find it.
In addition to the makeup, they also carry skincare, fragrances, hair care products, and even products for men.
I can spend a long time in here, just browsing the myriad of different items!
