A low key restaurant situated in Yaohan Shopping Centre. Handmade noodles and fresh ingredients. Quick service, and very genuine cuisine. I almost always stop by this stall when I’m in the area and it’s the only one I ever want to go to.

I think that was my first authentic Chinese food experience, am very impressed. I had lamb and vegetable noodle soup. I am not sure what makes that flavour but it was so delicious yet different from Chinese food I know in Canada. It has good amount of vegetables and fungus. Noodle was probably just prepared right before since I saw the cook inside was actually handling doh. The price was so reasonable as it is just one corner in a food court. Another good thing I want to mention is that they use real soup bowl, not garbage one. We bring our chopsticks everywhere but I hate to eat food with paper place or plastic bowl that will be just garbage. Instead, this place take some deposit for the bowl and you get the money back when you finish your food and return it. I think that is really great thing. I hope everyone looks at this. My wife had spicy oily noodle and she totally loves it. We will definitely come back here whenever we are near.

I was in the mood for spicy noodles. I tried their number 15(house special spicy pork noodle). I asked for medium spicy and it was quite spicy, just right for me. The noodles are thin and in a spicy broth(not as watery as a soup noodle). Lots of bits of bamboo, bean sprouts, black fungus. I will definitely be back.

Good lamb skewers and the cold noodle dish my wife had was ok. The menu is a bit scattered with some dishes having English and some none and other items have a listed price while others do not. It makes for mild amusement as an English speaker, I’ll just have to study mandarin I guess. Note: I am not sure why, but the map showing the location does not match the address listed, it is located in the Yaohan Centre, not at Brighouse station.

The beef bun(rou jia mo) was really great, although the noodles(liang pi) weren’t quite as authentic as expected.

* Good Roujiamo * The food courts of Richmond continue to provide a never ending stream of little food stalls to sample tasty little snacks. This is one of those stalls that doesn’t even have its name written in English on its big yellow sign( ). I ordered the lamb roujiamo(2 for $ 6.50). The bun was a bit denser than the version at some other spots around town, and tasted like they had panfried it to really crisp up the outsides. The lamb itself had a pleasant cumin flavour and was juicy. They also had stir fried it with onions to sweeten things up a bit. There was no noticeable chili. Overall a nice lunch/snack. Photo: While I may return again if in the area, if I were going to specifically seek out lamb roujiamo I would opt instead for Want Want’s version instead:
