This location use to be a restaurant called the cucumber café and because it’s a newer building it’s pretty nice inside. The food is typical Denny’s. The manager is very friendly. It’s where to go if you want breakfast anytime of the day.

Appetizer platter was ok, and the service as well, but the medium rare T-bone steak was dry as a shoe sole and the quality of the meet was far away from the description in the menu. It definitely was my first and last try with this place

Totally underrated. I come to this Dennys all the time. It’s by far the nicest Dennys I’ve been too. It’s the best Dennys. I like the friendly staff. It’s a very clean and modern restaurant, it doesn’t look like a stereotypical Dennys. Open 24 hours, I like that you can order breakfast lunch or dinner at any hour. It’s not too expensive either. I give it a perfect score.

We ate at this restaurant on June 21⁄15 because of location close to the Sandman Hotel. The restaurant was practically empty at about 8pm. We were seated at a booth that located beside one of the window planters. It didn’t take long for us to notice all of the ants crawling around the planter and up the walls. The fabric booths seemed dirty. It seemed like the waiter was wearing many hats(host, waiter, cook etc). The service was slow and the food not very appetizing. When Sandman called to find out how our stay was I told them they should disassociate themselves with Denny’s.

Yes, willing to throw a 4-star out there simply b/c of the location and the better ambience, than let’s say, the ones off the I-5 or the Vancouver marine drive one lol. I say it’s a bit younger. Over the years, they’ve gone a bit more upscale, so have the prices, but I’m here only for the breakfasts and desserts, and they’re open 24 hrs! Parking can be challenging if those annoying Steve Nash members park in their designated stalls!

1– place smelled like a washroom(not even exaggerating — smelled like piss because of the carpet and the fabric boots maybe). I tried to change spots but smell never went away. 2– Customer Service: the indian waitress was great and amazing, was quick and was really really friendly and was checking on me every time she went by and tried her best to make my experience a good one especially after i mentioned the smell thing. She really did a great customer service trying to meet my expectations. She was good! 3– My Egg & Steak wasn’t the greatest but it was eatable even tho i had to sent the steak back to get cooked a little more. 4– Convenience: it was very close to my hotel and lots of parking lot

Being a Denny’s I didn’t have high expectations. But this place was really bad. The coffee tasted like it came out of a car filter. Eggs Benedict were overlooked and very bland. Even the English muffin the eggs came on was hard and stale. Definitely one of the worst places for breakfast.

Was at the Dennys on Kingsway in Burnaby. Saturday morning, 9 ish. No waiting, got a table for two. The service was fantastic and friendly. Breakfast came quickly and was very tasty. Been to this Dennys a few times as well as others and contrary to other reviews about this chain I have never been disappointed in Dennys service or food.

Review #21 — 30 Day Unilocal Challenge I’m ashamed to admit it, but this is probably my go-to spot when I’m starving after a night of partying. They’re open late and there’s not a lot of people around because it’s in a weird location, but that works for me. Less customers my server has to deal with. This used to be the Cucumber Café before it became Denny’s. I don’t remember what it was before Cucumber Café, but I guess it doesn’t really matter now. The food is standard for a typical diner; greasy omelette platters with hash and pancakes, slab of meat and more greasy fried eggs, different types of burgers and fries, milkshakes etc. I love that there’s also a Seniors Menu and a Kids Menu(I’ve never ordered from either, if you’re wondering). Like I said, I like coming here when there’s alcohol in my system, so the quality of food doesn’t matter to me too much. It’s definitely not a journey for your tastebuds, I’ll tell you that much. It’s a good price though, so I’m not going to complain. Besides it being in a weird place, I’m not a huge fan of the service. Twice I was there, I was served by the same stout gentleman. He didn’t seem too enthusiastic to see my group and I. Yea he was helpful and attended to us, but when the server has a passive aggressive attitude when serving, it’s just as bad as if he was plain rude. Even worse actually. The last time I was there though, we got a younger guy who was much more courteous. The service was definitely better compared to the previous ones with the stout gentleman. I’m just meh about this place, but after thinking about my previous experiences, I’m probably going to try and stick away from this place. I’d need to find a different place to go to if I need a late night chow.

I know what I’m getting into when I stop at an all night Denny’s, but I was really shocked at just how bad this location was. All we wanted was milk shakes and nachos, it took about an hour to get them and the milk shakes were room temperature and the nachos could have easily been from the 7 – 11 across the way. Rude servers and vacant manager. Avoid this location at all costs. The Denny’s on Marine has never failed me.

Pure crap! I went there because it was close to the hotel my friends were staying in. Service was BAD, our server was also the so called manager there. It took him 10 minutes to seat us, the restaurant was practically empty!!! And this was dinner time! There were maybe three to four other tables, yet it took him 10 minutes to take our drink order. We wanted to order food at the same time but noooo. Had to wait till he came back 10 minutes later. It took 30 minutes before our appetizers arrived, and our main course came 45 minutes after he took our order. While we were patiently waiting, I asked for a refill and got a nasty«just wait!» from the manager. Then he came back 5 mins later to ask what I wanted knowing damn well I just wanted a refill! Food was horrible, burger was super salty, my freaking toast was burnt, told the manager he didn’t care. The bill came to about $ 100. I wasn’t about to give him 10% tip for the awful experience but I still tipped him $ 8. The server/manager actually went up to my guest«not me who paid for the bill» and said«just to let you know, in Canada we give 10% tip». I was pissed off, I asked to speak to the manger and found out it was also my waiter. I asked for his manager and he gave me the sandman hotels phone number and the name Steve. I will follow up with Denny’s head quarters and Sandman group about this terrible experience I will not recommend anyone to go there. Stay far away.

This doesn‘t look or feel like a standard Denny‘s. It has an odd vibe and it is in a weird part of town. The service is pretty standard. You normally don‘t have to wait for a table. The prices are fair. The food is ok. There is nothing about a Denny‘s that should ‘wow you. It isn’t as bad as anyone makes it out to be. The wait is a little long, but not that bad. Overall, there could definitely be more servers here. Other then that, this is one of a number of places you end up at when there is no consensus on where to eat breakfast.

Service was quick however never came by to ask how my food was. I ordered the classic eggs bennie with a soft yolk. What I can’t understand is how one yolk was soft and the other hard. Not the best eggs bennie that i’ve eaten.

I only came to Denny’s for the free birthday Grand Slam Meal!!! Then the waiter told me that i don’t have to get the grand slam… if i order a drink, i can get anything on the menu! Seriously? that’s like letting a fat kid loose in a chocolate factory! so i felt like a burger and fries so i had that… too bad it sucked! no flavor and the beef tasted weird. :(oh well at least it was free… *sniff* so why three stars… the waiter was nice and very polite. that is all.

Firstoff, it’s a Denny’s. Let’s get past that. Actually, let’s not. I will give you some simple tips if you ever think of eating here. 1. After you order, please get the waitress to get back to you with a time frame as to how long the food will take to arrive. You be the judge after that. I’ve waited over an hour for our food to come without being notified that there were many take out customers before us. 2. Don’t order tropical or location-themed meals. You know what I’m talking about. Stick with breakfast and burgers and you will be fine. 3. If possible, ask for a spot where the waitress can best serve you. THe joint is quite large and it usually means your drinks will be replenished faster at the very least. It doesn’t hurt to hint towards the waitress that you expect the best service possible at the best location where she can properly provide it. This comes from experiences eating late at night around 1−2am.

Service=0 stars Food=0 stars Atmosphere=well, it is a Denny’s. We went here because it was near our hotel and is usually kid friendly. Big mistake. It took over an hour to get our food, the waiter was clueless, the food was cold and rubbery when we finally got it. We finally told the manager that the whole experience was unacceptable, and all he could say was sorry, and that he will take care of the bill. It was unlikely that we were going to pay for cold disgusting food anyways.

When they first opened they had many staff. On the latest weekday visit, we had to wait for over an hour for lunch to complete our meal and visit. The waitresses are graceful through it all, and very nice — too bad that it is managed this poorly now.
