MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE COOKIES! The caramel sable ones are to die for. There have been a few coffee shops I’ve come across that Olivia supplies her baked goods to and I frequent those shops only because of her stuff. It’s that good. I really really wish she had her own bakery or café!

The canneles will transport you to its home in Bordeaux. This spotlight-​deserved French pastry is made of egg, sugar, milk, and flour flavoured with rum and vanilla, and has a tender custard center and darker, caramelized crust.
Olivia from Cannele & Honeybun makes them in her home kitchen upon request and she brings them to Baker’s Market and Steveston’s Farmer’s Market as well.
If you’ve never had them then you must try them and it a challenge to appropriately describe it here. I can only put to words the contrasting texture of the custard and the crust, the dense «creamy» taste of the custard, and the lingering of the caramel taste after.
This is best paired with a dark medium roast, and preferably from Honduras (just being coffee snob here).

Faubourg — approx $ 3.50/each
Ganache — approx $ 2.85/each
Cannele & Honeybun — $ 2.50/each
The price may not be the exact figure and may have changed by now but I feel in terms of price and quality I feel none strikes the right balance as Cannele & Honeybun.
Besides the Canneles, my second favorite item would be the Salted Caramel Sable Cookie — it has a delicious texture of crunchiness from the caramel and the chewiness from the cookie, and dusted with sea salt I believe. Mmmm mmm mmm.
You don’t need to jet to Paris for a taste of this niche dessert.

Her macarons are the best in the city! The only macarons I’ve had in Vancouver that have the similar flavour and texture to the ones I’ve eaten at Laduree in Paris:)! Espresso and Hazelnut are my favourites.

Those cookies… all of them are amazing. I tried both the sable and the bacon one today, both were unique and stellar. The bacon one has pretzels and other things mixed into the batter, the flavour is spectacular.
I am absolutely obsessed with the flourless chocolate hazelnut cookies! So chewy, with a perfect dark chocolate/​nutella flavour. My friend and I tried all 3 cookies and had to buy a bag of the chocolate cookies each. I think I’ll be swayed by the other two, but the chocolate one will earn my loyalty… yes I’m returning next time, with more friends in tow because this is one amazing cookie that I can rave about!
