World Bowl

My friends and I came here yesterday for some bowling and had a great time! We decided to pay per hour after we were done so I left my drivers license with them at the front desk. Bowling was a decent price ($ 50 split among 5 people) and we got some beers and food. Beer was a bit inflated in terms of price but food was really affordable at about $ 6 for a large poutine. Everything was great except for a couple cons. The bowling shoes were too expensive and we had to pay for them separately. Also we have to go to a machine to buy tokens ($ 4 each), then go back to the front desk to get the shoes. Too many steps, not necessary, and too expensive for a gross rental LOL. I think it’s just an unnecessary added cost? It used to be $ 2 for rental years ago…
Anyways, the service has gotten a lot better and disco bowling is always fun. Keep an eye out for price specials which are like ¹⁄₃ of the regular price.

Always a great time at world bowl. They have great promotions year round. And this is the only bowling alley that you’ll find their attendants in ties. Very professional.

The best bowling alley in Richmond Hill. The Friday and Saturday night disco bowling is awesome. The equipment is decent and the facilities are clean. The snack bar is reasonably priced. Parking is plentiful. It’s always a good time there.

I am not into waiting or lining up anywhere (especially to pay someone!) so was happy that after work around 6:00 half the lanes were unoccupied. It is $ 55 for 2 people for an hour. I am not sure how the price is compared to other bowling alleys.
Aside from not waiting the parking lot has available spots and the machines worked without a hitch.
On the down side, there are not enough balls available, the selection is limited and the balls are greasy. Clean them please. Also, the washroom was dingy and very dated. The food selection looked stale and unappetizing. Why not throw out the ugly looking (was it) pizza and sad looking junk and get something hip and fresh?
There is also a store on-​site for the pro bowlers out there…

Horrible service. They mentioned 45 minutes wait for a lane because they were waiting for a tournament to finish. An hour and a half later, we finally got a lane. They kept on saying to my wife, they are just running late and will be done soon. Something I was not happy about. Later on, I found out that the tournament had the lanes until the time we were given a lane. They should have been straight up to begin with.

I like this place as it is generally clean and well maintained. Good place to bowl for experienced or the casual bowler. A good mix of different people playing so you dont feel out of place. The deals are good and if you find a time when there is a special going on, the rates are quite good.

terrible service, waited an hour never got to bowl

Came here with some friends two weeks ago on a Friday. Though I live close to Markham Bowl, for some reason this is my go-​to place. Its clean, spacious, and its away from all the crazy traffic in Richmond Hill.
My entourage decided to take advantage of their 2 hour special $ 55, or paying $ 31/hr…which was a no-​brainer.
The service/​counter folks were helpful, and provided us recommendations so that we wouldn’t get ripped off :) Browsing at all the signage, World Bowl also has happy hour bowling available, which is great for those who work and live locally.
The overall presentation of the place is up to par; clean seating area, bowling lanes, etc.
In addition, they’ve also got a bar area, arcade room, and food area for those to unwind. For fun fares we didn’t have any, but rather ordered a round of beers.

I have been here several times with friends for bowling. This place is not bad. It is spaceous. But the bowling balls need to be cleaned because it is very slippery from a lot of use from lots of people.

Probably one of the better looking bowling alleys in the Richmond Hill and Markam area, World Bowl is a great place to unwind and hit the pins with your buddies. It’s your typical bowling alley with a tiny arcade area with foosball (which was in renovations), a decent bar and fairly good fast food.
The service is pretty good for a bowling alley and it’s about $ 27 for a lane per hour. Shoe rental is $ 3 and the best part about this place is $ 5 beers. It’s probably the most relaxing thing you can do on a Friday night and the cheap beer is just icing on the cake.
I come here every once in a while and the place never disappoints. The only thing I wish they had, was a better arcade. I usually find myself enjoying foosball or street fighter more than actual bowling, so it would be nice of they had both!

Very bad management and poor customer service. We are giving one star only because Unilocal doesn’t allow no star reviews.
— Bowling balls are slippery and smell like oil also not enough selection as other places
— Pin resetting machine doesn’t work properly (gets stuck and requires reset by staff too often. This is not acceptable as we pay by the hour and their staff is not even responsive to calls)
— Lane 33 is slanted so ball doesn’t go straight
— Smelly and dirty washroom
— Tables and seating area in bowling area very dirty and covered with food. Table with monitor doesn’t have chairs!
— Poor customer service. When we arrived we told the asian female manager wearing glasses that we wouldn’t be ready to start for at least 20 minutes as two in our group required to get changed and expressed that we wanted our start time to begin once ready but they shut our lane off cutting us short of 20 minutes of play even though we signed in saying we needed 20 minutes to start!
— we asked for two children bowling bowls for our group but were given only one saying the bowls came back fast. What’s next? One bowl per lane instead of one per player?
Not going back again.

$ 11.88 per hour on Saturday morning til 1pm
World Bowl is a pretty nice bowling alley that has specials up the wazoo. The place itself is located off of East Wilmot on Leslie. It’s a stand alone place so its rather large. The place is brightly lit and pretty clean, so its already way better than half of the bowling places I’ve been to around Toronto.
There are lots of bowling lanes with lots of bowling balls, so no fighting amongst parties here. They have a pretty decent snack bar that offers up all kinds of food too. They usually have some kinds of specials like pizzas and wings for relatively low prices. The front desk is very friendly and staff is generally nice all around.
They have cosmic bowling at night for all of you who are into that sort of thing. Not sure what else I can say except that it’s a pretty good place for bowling. They have rooms set aside for birthday parties as well as some specials for it as well. Lanes are a bit pricy when not on special as its roughly $ 30 per hour per lane.

Not a bad place! We came here on a Sunday afternoon. The bowling balls got stuck towards the end of our one-​hour game, staff had to help us get it out. However, overall the atmosphere was nice and typical for a bowling place, and the staff was accommodating. Price is decent at $ 10/​hour — nothing fancy or special but good to come for a fun afternoon! I have been here a few times and we have had a good time.
You are served the typically bar snacks: pizza, chicken fingers and fries.
Drinks are reasonably price and there were several lanes.
The service was good.
The only thing is it may need an update, overall a pleasant experience.

Came here many times, whether for work or with friends. Service is great. Until you ask them to help you move the balls that are stuck in the middle or the gutter. I was at the alley today with a bunch of kids for their bdays. Obviously some aren’t strong enough to push the ball, even with the bowling ramp. This one short lady had to come help us retreive the ball 2 – 3 times, tops. The final time she came, her face was all crunched up like she was ready to explode. I really wanted to roll her up and use her as the ball.
I was quite impressed with the party room service. They were quick and super polite. That lady needs a lesson in manners with the servers.

Went to scope out the place before making a reservation for a group of 10
(Since they charge a $ 50 non-​refundable deposit for 2 lanes on a weekend… to be «fair» they allow you to change the date if you need to)
It was a league night it seems so all lanes were «full» (saw at least 3 lanes not being used). The guys behind the counter were incredibly NOT caring for our business at all, granted we’re just 2 people.
They just said 30mins and looked away, every time I tried asking if I should come back in 30mins or if they’re going to get us, or if we’re the next ones to get a lane, they turned away?!? It was a laughable moment because it was in your face rudeness.
We walked out.

Purchased a groupon to go bowling with 6 people for a whooping 27 dollars with shoe rental for everyone for 90 mins! deal or what? anyway 18 of us went out for bowling iwth 3 groupons and we were not treated any differently for coming in with groupons! We had an awesome time! those who see this grab the groupon! its awesome :)

There are 3 10-​pin bowling alleys in Markham/​Richmond Hill that I know of: World Bowl, Club 300 and Markham Bowl. Regardless of what you think of World Bowl, it is the newest of the three. It is also the nicest facility of the three.
I generally don’t expect much from a bowling alley: smooth flat lanes, bright lighting, rental shoes of reasonable condition, no smoking smell. World Bowl delivers on all fronts. I also like the airy feel this place has. Food and drinks are as expensive as other bowling alleys, so I don’t complain.
I always have a good time bowling, because it is an activity that indeed the companions count the most. I just hang out with friends and family, make a fool out of each other, gossip till the cows come home, and pretend that someone’s winning really means something, or not.
Note that they sell a summer coupon book that gives frequent bowers a break in cost in summer.

If you area considering making a reservation over the phone and think you can cancel without getting charged — think again.
I had made a reservation and had to cancel on the day of the massive snow storm, i was supposed to go with a group of friends on the sat and thought it would be best not to chance it. I cancelled 25+ hours prior to my reservation and still got charged. I called today to see if they wouldn’t refund me cash and they stated that its been credited to my account. I would think considering the weather, it would be good customer service for me to get my $$ back but instead I’m forced to visit their establishment.
Won’t make that mistake again, always ask what the cancellation policy is especially if providing your credit card information.

World Bowl just did a renovation so the facilities are up to date and the washrooms are nice and clean.
Rental Shoes for $ 3 are quite clean and in good condition. Max of 6 people per lane, I hope someone would have let me know…
Great specials on certain time $ 18.88 per hour lane rental for sure is a good deal… Maybe I need to come back and practice and brush up my bowling skills!
Staffs though were a little indifferent… Meh…
