Better Coffee Company and Tea Emporium

Today I can proudly say that yesterday afternoon while I enjoyed my favourite Americano beverage from this newly found spot I received my BCR (bachelors of Coffee Roasting), my MCR, my PhD and an honorary degree in Coffee-​nomics courtesy of Annie @ BCC & TE!
This place had been on my radar for awhile to try as according to the Unilocal app it was located a mere 5 minutes away from home. Time and time again I drove past the location thinking I was taking Cocoa plant crazy pills for not finding it. But yesterday my need to caffeinate put my in coffee survival mode and I searched twice as hard. HUZZAAHHHH! Victory I found the place, located just past the Shoppers drug Mart on TowerHill off of Yonge.
The sign is small and hangs in window so it was no surprise I missed it! Coffee found!
The space is in a word ‘spacious’. It’s simply decorated and organized with repurposed/​recycled pine tree tables and bar tables.
BCCTE uses Intelligistia (sp?) beans in all their caffeinated beverages and is not only a user but the main importer and wholesaler of these beans for many of the downtown cafes using these beans. BCC has several varieties of the bean for coffee and another strain specifically roasted for espresso.
But how does it taste? Clean, strong, no after taste and lovely. My Americano was amazing! It satisfied my coffee craving and kept me hopping and buzz buzzing the rest of the day.
The space is great for doing work during the day as its quiet as most of the locals are not around at this point. Also the wifi is free and fast.
Love this space I’ll be back weekly to hang out, do some work and drink some of the smartest coffee around :)

You’re effing kidding me? A coffee place this good… and in Richmond Hill? Doesn’t make any sense.
What’s so special about this place? They have Intelligenstia coffee. And for those in the know, this is a coffee house in Chicago and is exceptionally good.
To make things even more interesting, they are the sole distributors for intelligentsia all over toronto.
Sorry Merchants of Green Coffee, as good as you are, i just found a new place where i’m getting my home brew from.

I had a latte this morning and was really impressed. The owners are very helpful and very knowledgeable. I will definitely go back. I highly recommend it. One of the best lattes.

Yeah, yeah! Found another indie café that’s in the ‘burbs (besides Red Bulb in Stouffville)!
I’ve been meaning to check this café out for awhile after seeing it on one of Jennifer K.‘s lists. I finally made my way here with my sister and came to pick up an iced latte and something for myself. Originally I wanted to try the Cortado but they don’t make it to go since it’s served in a particular cup (…I think that was the reason, my memory is bad). Anyway, so I settled for an 8 ounce cappucino. It was the late afternoon pick up I needed. It went down smooth whereas I found other 8oz cappucinos I’ve had more bitter. My sister loved the latte — she said it a few times and was happy I took her to this place so she doesn’t have to settle for the Starbucks when she’s in the area.
The space itself is open, very bright with its large windows and the barista was really friendly.
Win for the indie café in the ‘burbs.

You know people living up in the Suburbs need good coffee and espresso beverages! We are so sick and tired going to Starbucks, Second Cups or Tim Hortons…

Love the decoration… a hipster indie coffee shop up here? Though I am not a hipster. but I do enjoy the vibe… Spacious with big windows. great place to park myself there surfing the internet and enjoy a cup of java!
Cappuccino ($ 3.10) was nicely executed with lovely latte art. Velvet and smooth. and with great after taste.
The staffs are nice and friendly and made me feel really welcome!
For sure drop by Better Coffee Company for a «better» cup of coffee next time when you are in the area!
