Well, I stopped by here as I knew of this place from past dealings for security work but never tried the food. Years later, I finally have and well… Its an honest place that’s family run but years outdated and dingy. It really needs a paint job and re-upholster the seating. Now the food portions are generous. The quality, well, passable. My lamb shank at $ 21.95 with stuffed potato is reasonable, but not particularly exceptional and a bit overcooked. My gal’s chicken souvlaki was about average. Overall, the service was quite good, but the food really needs a revamp and a massive reduction as well(60+ dishes???) to focus on quality over quantity. Pricing is a little high. Portions may be big, but passable food makes it questionable. Honestly, I really wouldn’t give this place more than 2 ½ stars, but as that’s now allowed, 3 will have to do.

Dinner was terrible, won’t go back, guess after George sold it the new owners don’t care about quality! Had to sit in lounge, long wait on appys, the apparent mushroom caps I ordered were cut up mushrooms pieces with imitation crab, for 9.00! NO mushroom cap… The wings were good, but the steak & ribs and stuffed potatoes were over cooked and tasted terrible for 20.00! Last time I will go there!

Avoid! Horrible steak and service… did not check up on us once. Messed up the order over cooked the steak. The server started talking to us at the end of our meal about a customer who was complaining about price and calling back to say the bread we just ate was mouldy… I just ate that bread!

If you order for delivery, eat a big meal first by the time your pizza arrives you’ll be hungry again. One and a half hours and two phone calls, still waiting… Otherwise, if your dining in the foods still good.

Great food! The specialty is of course is Pizza and Steaks but recently we had the greek items such as souvlaki, hummus, tzatziki and greek salad from the menu catered to our conference meeting and everyone loved the food! Everyone couldn’t stop raving about it! The staff is service is great! Its a nice family restaurant with a great environment and feel it! I come back every week and its my go to restaurant for all catering needs and weekly dinning!!!

Avoid — I put in a simple delivery order, pizza and salad. Despite asking in advance, I was not informed of the $ 9 delivery fee. I was charged for things I did not order — jalapeño poppers. The salad lettuce was old and rusty, completely inedible. Pizza was meh, ok.

George’s is a homely place to sit down to a variety of meal choices. Upon reading Christina’s review I knew I had to try this cheeseburger. She was right. It was delicious. I really enjoyed the mushrooms and their sauce although I don’t understand why they leave the mushrooms in halves. It makes the burger a little difficult to fit into your mouth. We started off with some stuffed jalapeños and those were quite good. I asked for a Greek salad with my burger(in place of fries) but there was some kind of mistake and I was provided fries and salad. I have to say that I was disappointed in both the salad and the fries though. The fries weren’t nearly as crunchy as I like them to be and the salad was very lacking on oil. Overall I still really enjoyed the meal and will definitely be back. I received very polite service from the waitress as well. The lounge had a few tables sitting down for lunch but was pretty open. I’m sure it would fill up around dinner time though. Ken’s review notes that the pizza is great and I’ve heard that from some other people as well, so I’ll have to try that at a later date. If you can’t ever decide on what to order, don’t come to George’s because the menu is huge!

George’s has THE best cheeseburgers in town! Their House Cheeseburger comes with mushrooms, onions, cheese, bacon, and a House mayo type sauce. Scrumptious! George’s also makes their own cheesecake! It’s to die for! If you still have room after that large cheeseburger! According to my dining companion, they make a delicious baked seafood lasagna. However, it’s sometimes cold in the middle, but they’re more than willing to reheat it for you. EDIT: I recently dined at George’s & decided to try something else, as everyone I’ve talked to raves about everything ELSE on the menu. I must say I was quite disappointed. First, I tried their teriyaki beef with a side of rice. The beef was outrageously tough; partly due to gristle but also just the plain meat. I sent it back & ordered the seafood Alfredo. The shrimp were good but the other, I think it was supposed to be crab, fell far short. It was slimy & cut in long, thin shavings & not at all the texture i associate with crab or even any kind of fish. And the Alfredo sauce left much to be desired for flavour. Honestly, I’m reverting to my standard fare with George’s House Cheeseburger. Based on those two meals, I’m not sure I would even give George’s 4 stars, if it wasn’t for my favourite cheeseburger & their home made cheesecakes.
