This is a poor hotel. It looks nice, has a good fitness room, and the staff are very nice, but a hotel we can’t relax in is a fail. 3 big issues: 1. You can hear poeple in the rooms upstairs and hear the water running fown through the pipes when they flush. This is a first for a hotel we’ve stayed in. 2. The free wifi is a joke. Good luck getting a good connection that lasts more than a couple minutes. 3. The pool. What pool? This pool is probably 50% smaller than any pool we’ve seen in a hotel. Ok for kids, useless for adults. This hotel we will NOT come back to

After being sent to Red Deer for work, I found myself in a bit of a bind in terms of accommodations; with some money left on my Best Western gift card, I reluctantly decided to try again. This time, I was greeted warmly at the front desk and the young woman outlined the times of breakfast and provided directions to the hotel pool,(during my last stay, I wasn’t aware there was a pool on the premises until meeting a group of towel clad youth in the elevator). My previous issues noise transfer — especially if you find yourself sharing a wall with the housekeeping closet. Avoid #321(and likely 421&221, if possible) — was still bothersome. Perhaps request a fourth-floor room, if you’re a light-sleeper who doesn’t mind waiting for the elevator. The parking lot flood lights are also just as bright from one story higher. So, I would say the service is definitely hit-or-miss, but if you can sleep soundly,(or with headphones,) and have the elevator patience of big-city saint, maybe this place isn’t so bad after all…
