It’s either tough Unilocalers or food connossieurs like myself; I can honestly give a hoot about attitude, I’m just here for the food, not to make friends lol Ordered their Cali & House Roll, true winners, very fresh & deleesh. Accept debit/credit. Open layout, & sushi bar seating. easily will repeat.

Good food. The major drawback, however, is the lady server who seems to be one of the owners. She is just mean, mean, mean just like another reviewer mentioned below. In fact, a friend of mine warned me about the lady server and she ruined the good food. Would not return.

Fantastic value, lovely service, and top notch food. I went with a sushi-shy friend who loved the yakisoba. My rolls and nigiri were delicious. I would definitely return next time I’m in Port Coquitlam!

I have been to this restaurant 3 times and have yet to have a bad experience. Everything is always delicious and to die for! Came here for Valentine’s Day and had chopped scallop roll, a variety of nigiri, deluxe sashimi, a dozen oysters, ebi mayo, Seaweed salad, and soft shell crab appetizer. All the seafood was fresh. Service was excellent as always. My tea cup never emptied. This is our go to place for special dinners.

Just had yet another awesome dinner at the best sushi restaurant in the tri cities area. A real trained sushi chef from Japan and a wonderful family run restaurant makes for a great place to enjoy a great dinner. Fine quality fish and presentation you will not usually find in the suburbs.

Outstanding salmon, tuna, shrimp and hamachi(yellowtail) sashimi. Mayo shrimp is yummy. Chef and hosts are Japanese and super friendly. They were actually closed post lunch hour rush, but they welcomed us in for a late lunch anyways.

The food is awesome. Truly Japanese taste unlike other chinese & korean owned sushi places. The only one thing I don’t like about this place is the woman who I believe is also the owner here. She always looks mean and barely smiles …

Pretty darn good sushi place. Very nice décor and polite and friendly service. As per the other reviewers’ suggestions I tried the Oyster Oyster from the a la cart menu and a couple cold appies(the gomae and the crab sunomono). I like my gomae creamier so was a little disappointed but the sunomono was good. It comes with shrimp also, which I was not expecting and never order, but otherwise very nice. The oyster with oyster mushrooms was very tasty but incredibly rich and oily so not for those on a diet. I have yet to try their rolls but they have a cheap California roll deal for lunch time. Maybe next time. Prices are reasonable and there are a lot of tasty looking options on the menu. I hope to come back again and try some more. For now, a 4 or 4 and a half stars. I will update when I return.

My husband brought me to this place before I moved here from San Francisco 3 yrs ago. It is a jewel. We feel at home here. the food is outstanding, always very fresh and served well. I just love the crispy oyster it is my absolute favourite, every bite perfect. The entrees are all outstanding as well. we frequently will order an entrée to share along with appetizers and rolls to make a meal, that way we get to have more tastes and flavors. Over all this place is just a joy to spend an evening, not a fast restaurant but carefully crafted and served food. YUM!

This is my favourite local sushi restaurant, hands down. I’ve been there at least a dozen times, brought friends to try it out and they are always won over, even my Japanese friend who has very discriminating taste when it comes to sushi restaurants! The chef takes great pride in the quality and taste of the food, and you will notice attention to detail right down to the beautiful garnishes on the plates. Specialty items such as Kobe beef and Pine(Matsutake) mushrooms make appearances on their a la carte menu. Very affordable and not pretentious, but definitely a respectable sushi bar. Unfortunately I think a lot of people overlook its location, or drive past as they can’t turn in if they are in the eastbound lane on Lougheed, but it’s not hard to get to, and WELL worth a visit. You’ll be back!
