This is actually a review for«27 South Restaurant and Lounge» that is located within the Best Western. I now know what is meant by «Bridgewater’s best kept secret». Such a nice atmosphere, clean and modern. The sports paraphernalia at the entrance is also a great addition. Once seated, you really do not feel like you are in a hotel environment. The staff were very friendly, and well versed in the menu items. We decided on a steak/beef poutine and a four cheese tortellini carbonara pasta. Both dishes were so clean and fresh tasting. The steak was extremely tender, as in melt in your mouth tender, and the gravy was more of an Au jus, so not too heavy. The carbonara was also great. It was perfectly seasoned, and although I prefer a thicker cream based sauce, this thinner version left you feeling totally satisfied. Really nice surprise while on the road, and for those staying at the hotel, so convenient!

I am staying in Bridgewater for work and it was recommended by the staff to stay. We spent the first night having dinner and my coworker ordered a medium rare steak and it appeared well done. The waiter and the manager was a bit sharp with her and said«that is how steaks are done here«. They double charge us for the steak which is odd. The local staff were made aware of our dissatisfaction and try to remedy it with credit for a free meal. It was appreciated. We gave the resto another try and we were happy. I feel everyone deserves a second chance. On a side note. The rooms are great and the swimming pool has the best slide ever!!! I love the :) hockey memorabilia. Apparently this hotel is partly owned by hockey legend Glen Murray :)

We stayed at the Best Western Plus in Bridgewater for a week because I had an unexpected trip home. The hotel is the newest in the area and is just located outside of the town, directly across from the Walmart which is handy in case you forget to bring an item on your travels. It is also right off the highway, around 45 minutes from Halifax depending on traffic. It is your typical Best Western but with a little bit extra giving it the«PLUS» name that the chain seemed to introduced this year. The rooms are nice and clean and have comfortable beds which is a bonus. The free continental breakfast at this Best Western is by far the best I have ever had, maybe even the best of any hotel chain I have ever stayed at! You actually get real plates and cutlery, freshly squeezed juice, omelets, eggs, and your regular items like bagels, yogurt and cereal you would normally find included with a free continental breakfast. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. There is a hot tub and indoor pool which has a big water slide that seemed to attract the locals however. If you pay $ 10 per person you get use of the pool for two hours. Makes for a not so relaxing stay when there are a bunch of screaming kids running around the pool and you are paying good money to stay at this property. Overall the stay was good, and I would recommend it to be the place to stay when in the area.
