This place is fantastic! As a tourist destination, I would imagine that it helps out the local economy quite significantly. Take the $ 5 taking tasting tour. It’s 1.5 hours long and comes with 5 complimentary wine tastings and you get to keep your wine glass. The Deli Hut is also onsite. You can order made-to-order oven baked pizza(so good!). Also, you have to order their bread and cheese. The portion size is that is unreal. For $ 13.95 plus tax, we got 200g of caramelized onion cheese and oh-so-fresh and delicious sun dried tomato bread. You can also order your own meats to BBQ from the Deli Hut. There’s a BBQ area on site. Most people also brought a tonne of their own food to snack on and BBQ. We cycled there from our b&b. Gotta work off all that cheese and wine somehow! p. s. It’s actually located at 20 East West Road, just south of the ferry docks. Not sure why Unilocal has it at 619 Parsons.

It’s damning by faint praise, but Pelee Island wines are by far the best I’ve been able to find in the Lake Erie region. They’re eminently drinkable, and some are really good regardless of the region. Setting aside the wines, the winery is a true highlight on Pelee. The tours are fun and informative, and the unique dining option is one of the better choices on the island. You can buy wine at low retail prices, take it outside, then buy raw chicken, veggies, beef, or sausage to grill yourself on one of their many house grills. The pavilion is a lovely place for a picnic.

The winery is worth the visit. The pavilion is nice and there are opportunities to sample some of the wines they produce. The wine tour is interesting but since there is no production on the island, and limited growing, it has its limits. The people leading the tours tend to be students so they are not wine experts but they are enthusiastic and for $ 5 it’s a pleasant way to spend an hour and a half. The real benefit if you are staying on the island is the self barbecue. Dining options on the island are limited if you are in B&B’s so cooking your own food and having a bottle of wine is a good way to go. The winery closes at 8 which is 2 hours later than the LCBO so this is also a good place for last minute purchases. Watching the spectacular sunsets with a glass of wine is a very nice way to end the day.

Beautiful location, with friendly staff. On our visit, the weather wasn’t very great so it wasn’t too packed. They were prepping for a wedding and as the day went on it got busier and busier. Live entertainment in the late afternoon was a nice touch. I really liked that in addition to buying bottles to sample, they offered BBQ grills. You could either grill your own food, or buy frozen meats as well as breads and cheese. Smart, because with all the drinking you need some food to soak up the booze! And speaking of the booze, the wines we tried were delightful! Pelee Island winery really is a lovely place to spend the day. Just plan ahead for transportation… the island offers bike rentals but after a couple of bottles a bike ride is a bad idea. Consider calling a cab! :)

Very attractive place with some drinkable wines. Lots of outdoor seating, gardens, food options. When we were there, the bbq grills were not going, but apparently if you time your visit right, you can buy meats at a deli counter and grill them and have a meal with your wine purchases. If you are on the island, it’s well worth checking out.
