The Beach Club Resort

Spent a couple nights here in September of 2015 with my girlfriend. View was great. Staff was friendly. Breakfast food downstairs was excellent. Only problem I had was that the batteries in the tv remote were dead. We opted to just suck it up since who needs tv when you’re right on the beach. The Beach Club Resort’s manager did contact us via email after leaving comments about our stay with their online survey. He addressed the pros (all the above) and the cons (batteries) with our stay in a professional manner. We will be staying at the Beach Club Resort again in September of 2016. Already booked!

Huge patio with a beautiful view! Comfy beds, fluffy duvet and good quality television. Nice shower and very clean. The staff was friendly and parking was included, secure and convenient. The reason I am giving it such a low rating is because I paid way too much for it, although I was lead to believe I was getting a good deal. I bought the hotel stay through Groupon. I have bought many Groupons and always paid in Canadian funds and enjoyed the savings, but this time I found out I was billed in USD. I bought the coupon on my Canadian account, with my Canadian Credit card for a Canadian resort, but was billed in USD. Apparently it was in the «fine print». Nice resort, but I was duped. I could have stayed at any 4 or 5 star hotel in the area for the same amount and skipped the exchange fees.

Stayed here for 3 nights and it was really great! Our 1 bed suite had a spectacular view on the 8^th floor. We had one full bath with a separate shower and tub as well as a powder room. It was like a full apartment unit with a kitchen, washer and dryer and all supplies. We enjoyed our stay and would have loved to have stayed for a week. Booked through bc ferries vacations.
The pool, hot tub and fitness centre are all a pass. The view and Boardwalk make a stay here worth while! Be sure to get a view suite.

Was at a convention there for 2 days. It was a large disappointment. The location was fantastic. Rooms were super clean. Heavenly bathtub. It stopped there. The shower was jUst a fine spray. The air conditioning was so loud in the convention room it had to be shut off and then the outside doors had to be opened because it became too hot. The air conditioning in the rooms was also extremely noisy. All our meals were buffet. Tasteless, same lunch, breakfast eggs out of a carton, bacon cold and supper with the same type of salads as always. Lunch sandwiches were the same every day, had scant filling and the coffee was battery acid. As a group or individually we are all of the opinion that we are not going back. This hotel does not meet its billing as advertised. It comes off as a higher end motel. (This is the 1^st review I’ve ever submitted.)

Beautiful resort hotel for the price. We stayed in a 1-​bedroom suite with our 2 kids. It was great! We had a full Kitchen, living room and balcony with patio table. Views of the beach. Nice pool facility. Didn’t check out the spa yet but prices looked reasonable compared to Vancouver.
Located right on the Parksville beach. Steps away. Free bike and skimboard loans to guest. Huge Nearby children’s playground kept our kids endlessly entertained once they were done with the beach.

As an afternoon tea aficianado (you know, the «real tea»…the full English High Tea), I found that this is offered (reservations requested) on Sundays, between 2 & 4. I turned up early, no reservation, and was very kindly received. Thanks to the chef and the server! Great tea, too, with a view over Parksville Beach/​Bay. Traditional fruit salad, specialty sandwiches, scones, devonshire cream, jam, sweet goodies to finish, plus your choice of tea (I can’t seem to get beyond Earl Grey)…and yes, it comes in a teapot. Later, went for a stroll on the beachfront boardwalk… definitely add this to your list, if you are planning to be in the Parksville area.

i’ve stayed at my share of hotels, this is just ehhh. stayed for a wedding on the thanksgiving long weekend. Room was alright, at least it was clean. Washroom was really really small. not like the pictures on the website at all (I booked a studio suite). In the picture it showed a separate walk in shower + tub, not the case, just the tub. Also in the shower, the ring around the faucet thing came off, and the shower curtain looked like it needed replacing (a few buttons on it were missing). Also, the bedside lamps were not working when I first checked in, I had to let front desk know.
On the positive note, their restaurant was pretty good, I had breakfast there. Right by the beach so awesome view and great for morning walks. Also they have free shuttle service, great especially for wedding guests so you don’t have to worry about drinking/​driving. You just have to give them a call when you’re ready to go back to the hotel.
Paid $ 150 (including tax). Honestly, not worth it. For similar rooms at Marriott Courtyard, I’ve paid around $ 70 for and just as clean.

Gorgeous view, right on the beach. But house keeping is not up to par. Came back to the room with our breakfast still on our balcony table. The glasses and cups that they washed were so soapy, it’s ridiculous. Ruined my glass of wine and my boyfriend’s glass of whiskey. We had to wash them ourselves again. Unacceptable.

Just awful: Since there was no complaint process, I’m not surprised now in retrospect, that my stay and the interactions with staff there was deplorable. Upon requesting a receipt, the hotel had no record of me staying there, no solution to the problem of attaining a receipt and downright nasty attitudes all around. Obviously, the front desk people are not accountable. I had no way to elevate my complaint as I was stymied at every turn. This type of behaviour is downright sickening. I will NEVER stay there again, and I will make it a point to tell all my friends to avoid this place.
