Wheels for the Wise Inc. is Ottawa’s safe and reliable chauffeured transportation service for senior citizens. We offer our clients companionship and physical assistance to complete their weekly responsibilities, errands and social outings.

As added piece of mind to our clients and their loved ones, our Chauffeur-​Companions stay with our clients for the duration of the outing to physically assist when needed or to simply offer conversation and peace of mind, knowing that someone is there if they need them.

History

Established in 2011.

Wheels for the Wise was created to provide a safe and reliable means of physically assisted transportation and companionship for seniors and those with special needs. We take our clients to attend medical appointments, errands and social outings, to support and encourage independence, social participation and inclusion.

Inspired by recent findings published by Ottawa’s Council on Aging and by Ottawa’s Seniors’ Transportation Committee, Wheels for the Wise aims to keep seniors in their homes for as long as possible by providing improved outpatient and home care treatment options; while at the same time offering employment opportunities to retirees who serve as our drivers. Each Driver has CPR, First Aid and AED training, in addition to security clearance for working with vulnerable individuals.
