Food is great; very consistent. Would love to see seasonal changes though. Great staff; knowledgeable and friendly.

Great! Had a lovely meal, with a great waiter and staff. They’re very attentive. Also appreciate that they will take substitution for dishes. Our table of 5 were treated very well, and the prices are not outrageously high. The food was great. We all started with different salads and had different pastas as our mains. Portion sizes are very big, I couldn’t finish my salad or my pasta, until the next morning. Would definitely be back.

Incredible Italian food! This location was packed for dinner on Saturday night, but we had a nice candle-lit table. The stone décor is excellent, and their enormous wine rack must be worth a few hundred thousand dollars. All meals come with complimentary bread and a small serving of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We ordered the bruschetta to start, two pasta dishes as the main entrees, and the lava cake for dessert. All were delicious and I would highly recommend them. A few minor possibilities for improvement: — The table for two was quite small, and tight against a wall — They use the cheap powdered parmesan cheese, served with a spoon from a bowl, rather than fresh grated parmesan. As a high-end restaurant I would expect fresh parmesan. — The dessert portion sizes(a small ramekin of lava cake and another of vanilla ice cream) were quite small for an $ 8 dessert Overall, a beautiful restaurant and a great experience!

The ambience, service, and attention to customers comfort is the best I have experienced in Ottawa. Their memory of our preferences for our server and our wine preferences is incredible. I was sure they used a CRM or some digital tool to accommodate us in this fashion. They assure me it is simply retained from past visits. They have a much better memory than me. Only issue is a limited menu for repeat customers.

Yum. I love me some good Italian food! I’ve only been to the Riverside location, and while it might seem an odd location, the restaurant was well above my expectations. The food was great, cocktails were wonderful and the staff lovely. The ambiance is beautiful — a little dressy, which I enjoyed. I started with some delicious calamari which was perfect, and had the Cacciatore pizza for my main dinner. SCRUMPTIOUS! We enjoyed a few nice bottles of wine as well, and my wine connoisseur friends seemed pleased. We were a fairly large group(about 15), and the service was friendly and efficient. I’m looking forward to my next visit!

Another upscale restaurant in a seemingly odd location This was our first visit to Vittoria Trattoria. The family and I were treated to Thanksgiving dinner with my parents. I was very excited to try the place out, as I knew of their downtown location in the Byward market. They have a reputation for fine upscale dining. This Vittoria Trattoria restaurant is located in a strip mall — Riverside Court Plaza, off of Riverside drive, just North of Hunt Club. Lots of free parking on this Thanksgiving long weekend. It was not busy as expected, considering it was a holiday Monday. My three children(3,7&13), my wife and I arrived for our reservation at 6:00. We were promptly seated, and the large open space restaurant was basically vacant. The bar area is small, but features an impressive and large array of spirits and wine. The restaurant are presents itself well for trendy upscale dining. It has an old world flavour to it, where the place settings have more forks than you need and a dessert spoon. The dining area features a huge wine inventory from floor to ceiling. My impression was Vittoria Trattoria is modern dining, with upscale food, yet a casual setting with relaxed service. I would suggest dressing business casual. This is a decent option for celiacs. The server was helpful with my celiac wife and son. They have a limited selection of gluten free pastas available. I chose the Linguini Carbonara — smoked bacon and Bermuda onions in a traditional carbonara sauce, with the house wine. I was a little disappointed, expecting upscale food. The serving was quite large, too much pasta for my liking. I was quite disappointed with my choice of dessert: Tiramisu — Espresso scented Italian trifle. It was not bad, but my palette had higher expectations for upscale dining. That being said, my wife loved her menu choices. Overall, this probably is not the ideal spot for 4 adults and 3 children. But we did come for a non-traditional family Thanksgiving dinner. Perhaps my expectations were too high, as I was hoping to enjoy a «truly unique dining experience» — as advertised on their website. The restaurant is likely a great spot for intimate dinner, especially for wine connoisseurs. Visited October 2011

This place is great. The atmosphere is friendly and professional. The service and food are consistently very good and the prices are in line with this type of restaurant. The prosciutto and pear appetizer is delicious. Ditto for the downtown location. To previous reviewers: Oh come on people, this place is worth more than 2 stars. You don’t drop your star rating because the gazpacho wasn’t to your taste. Did you tell them you don’t like your gazpacho chunky? Might as well just have the manager come over to your table and roll dice to determine rating if thats how you review. This is an Italian restaurant, if you want more beer selection go to the pub and get your bangers and mash.

The appetizers were delicious. We had the shrimp scambuca and the artichoke dip. The main courses, salmon and Pescatore(seafood pasta) were only okay. My spouse had the apple crumble for dessert which she found to be delicous. Eleven pages of wine and 3 beers on tap — how even is that?.

This Italian restaurant, located in the Riverside South area, unfortunately doesn’t compare to some of the downtown spots for pasta. At our meal, I had gazpacho and the fettuccine pescatore. Unfortunately the gazpacho was overly thick and chunky, which is not to my taste. The fettuccine was made with a nice red and white wine sauce, but the seafood was small. In particular, the mussels barely had any meat in them at all. Although the food wasn’t bad, it certainly wasn’t worth the $ 15 – 25 per dish(and $ 7 – 12 per appetizer).
