I was so impressed by my experience at the Hunt Club location that I was literally craving the soup and salad, and so convinced my partners in crime(Christianne C and Fauve G) to join me here before a movie. As soon as we pulled up, I could tell just from the signage that this place wouldn’t be as awesome as their other location. It looked dated, and not as classy. My suspicions were confirmed when we walked in — the place is nice enough, but certainly not as lovely of the Hunt Club location. We were seated quickly enough, and it was actually very busy for 5:30pm on a Saturday. It’s located in the Centrum, so it’s a super convenient place to have dinner before a movie. I already knew exactly what I wanted since I loved my dish so much last time(Pacific Rim salad and Tom Yum Goong soup), but also decided to start with sweet potato fries. They were pretty delicious, but I couldn’t try the dips since I’m doing the Whole30. While our starters came pretty quickly, our mains took AGES. Both Chrissy and Fauve’s dishes arrived before mine by about 5 or 10 minutes, which is always a bit awkward(especially when there’s were cooked noodle dishes and mine were soup and salad). When they finally did arrive, I immediately noticed the salad wasn’t the same as the one I ordered from their Hunt Club location(both were the Pacific Rim salad). Although it had the same ingredients, the presentation and assembly wasn’t the same. The shrimp were cold and soggy and the lettuce just wasn’t very fresh. The Tom Yum Goong soup was awesome though! Super flavourful and spicy and delicious. I would order that no matter the location. As I mentioned, service was slightly slow, and I felt the food was pretty mediocre, so I likely wouldn’t head back here again, but you never know. Perhaps when I don’t have such dietary restrictions I’ll come back for a noodle dish!

This place was not too bad! I had a seafood Pad Thai and it was good. There was way too many uncooked bean sprouts for decoration though. The Pad Thai itself was pretty flavourful and I asked for not spicy and for once in my life at any restaurant it actually came with 0 spiciness. Amazing! As for the atmosphere, it isn’t too great. The place seemed really small and oddly structured with really narrow halls… The floors were slightly dirty with food too, which was kind of gross. The service was not too bad, no comments. It’s a quick bite if you’re looking for good food. I’ve tried better though, nothing special

I went here recently for dinner with my husband and father-in-law. My husband and I have been to the Barrhaven location before but none of us had been to this Kanata location before. The menu, décor and ambiance of the Kanata location is not too different from the Barrhaven location except it’s much bigger. It’s also a little bit better lit, I found the Barrhaven location too dimly lit. It was not too busy for a Saturday evening, there were lots of empty tables. We had made reservations and were seated promptly. We started with the Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura appetizer($ 9). There were about 12 pieces. 3 were shrimp and the rest were vegetables(red peppers, green peppers, onion, sweet potato, zucchini, and baby corn). The tempura pieces were piping hot, fresh from the fryer. The batter was crispy, and not too heavy. I’m not a huge fan of tempura, but others at the table enjoyed it. So for their«From the Wok» section, you get to choose your type of protein(up to 2 choices), your sauce, your carb, and your level of spiciness(0 – 10). We all ordered from this section. I had the Beef and Shrimp in XO sauce with steamed rice 5 spicy($ 15). My husband had the Beef and Shrimp Chow Mein 5 spicy($ 15) and my father-in-law had the Beef and Shrimp in Ginger sauce with egg noodles 4 spicy($ 15). So they say that«regular» is 3 spicy. My father-in-law felt that his dish was way too spicy and was unable to finish it. He said he would order 2 spicy next time. My husband and I are more accustomed to spicy food but conservatively ordered 5 spicy and we felt it had a nice kick to it. I would probably order a 6 or 7 next time. If you are not accustomed to spicy food, I recommend you go on the lower end of the scale. My dish was really rich. I had never had XO sauce before(apparently it’s a sauce made of chilies, shallots, garlic, and dried scallops in wine). I was concerned that the dried scallops would make it smell fishy/“seafoody” but it didn’t smell that way at all. The flavour is complex and very savoury. I got 3 medium-sized shrimps and about 5 pieces of beef. Veggies were carrots, red peppers, broccoli and lots of cabbage. The beef was tender. The rice was nicely steamed and I liked that it was a big scoop on the side and not underneath the sauce because it would have been too saturated that way. My husband thought his chow mein was good. The noodles were crispy(deep fried) and the sauce was flavourful. It looked gelatinous, but he said it was not. My father-in-law said his ginger dish was nice, but too spicy. His dish had the egg noodles(soft, not deep fried) on the bottom and the meat and veggies in sauce poured on top. I think if you don’t like your carb saturated in sauce you should order rice, or specifically tell them you don’t want the sauce on top. They had a fair selection of wines and beer, the men had wine and beer, but I didn’t have a drink. Service was incredibly slow. We waited nearly 45 minutes before we got our appetizer. The restaurant is in the Kanata Centrum, so getting there is like driving through a labyrinth. It’s in front of the movie theatre, next to Eggstyles and two over from Baton Rouge. The address is on Kanata Avenue but you can’t really see it from Kanata Ave. This is a decent option for Asian food in Kanata. The atmosphere is very Westernized and modern. It has a bit of a night club feel to it. Despite the restaurant not being full, it was rather loud in there. The restaurant is very clean. Lots of free parking in the maze-like Centrum parking lot. I wouldn’t drive just to eat here from Ottawa or beyond, but if you live in Kanata/Stittsville or are here for other reasons(i.e. visiting people who live in Kanata/Stittsville) then Thi Fusion Kanata is a good option if you are wanting Asian food.

Pretty good lunch build your own noodle dish offering! The décor and presentation is nice. I had the XO sauce noodles, which was a fancy name for a traditional Chinese sauce that I’ve had better elsewhere.

5 star for their yellow curry and 1 for service . I never ever had such an awesome yellow curry in San Francisco Bay Area. I’ve tried many Thai restaurants earlier in SF bay but the yellow curry here is so tasty. Right spices and not loaded with coconut milk . However, I also never had such a terrible service at any restaurant in the past years that I remember. They messed with my order twice — ordered yellow curry with rice to go and what I got was just yellow curry. Second time they took my order and asked me to pick up in an hour. I called back in an hour just to double check, and guess what they said they don’t have such order in their system. What a joke ! Both these incidents happened during non rush hours and same week. Not sure how they handle the customers during rush hours.

Best Asian cuisine in Kanata! Hospitable staff, along with deliciously prepared food. Highly recommended! For something«great to start with», try the Bento box; as you become more familiar with the restaurant, there are number of different dishes to choose from, including a tasty Pad Thai, and a number of variations.

Thi fusion is great for their discounted lunch specials. The only downside is that the room is quite small and can get loud and crowded very quick. The discounted lunch menu is extremely appealing to me as well. Portions are gigantic and will definitely fill you up! The service and decent and the food average. It’s not as good as authentic Asian food but its still acceptable. It’s basically the white version of Asian food which is ok in my books. I’d still recommend it to anyone in the area who’s hungry!

The service was efficient and no-nonsense. the appetizer I got was yakitori(grilled chicken on a stick), and it just didn’t have the authenticity I remember from my time in Japan. My pad thai was quite delicious though, and a very generous portion, I couldn’t finish it all. I will most likely be back at this location for some more Asian cuisine, some of the best I’ve had in some time all in all.

Would have granted 3 ½ stars, had I the choice, based on ambiance and the menu and food. I did not know what to expect at this restaurant, as there were no previous reviews for this location in Unilocal, and nobody I know has been there yet — or at least they didn’t tell me about it… We decided to try this place before going to the movies across the plaza. First of all, it is an upscale establishment. It’s dark inside, with black floors, and a dark counter on the bar. However, you are greeted by a fish tank!(Very nice, but the one at the Mahogany spa in Carleton Place is nicer, because it has so more in it; more fish, more colour.) The Thi Fusion Lounge is romantic inside. On the other hand… 5 more fingers! The food was tasty, and brought out quickly. There are a reasonable number of choices on the menu, but you won’t get out of here without spending some dosh. Downsides for me for this visit were: (1) Way too dark in here! (2) Our waitress who had only been there for 1 week, who claimed she had for some reason only tried 1 menu item! She enjoyed super spicy food, which is the opposite of me — well, I like it better than my body does, anyway! (3) The air conditioning in here worked great… when the front door was kept closed! it was as hot as an oven outside, which some people seem to enjoy(I don’t get that — can’t handle such exhorbitant heat). The restaurant sports a patio out front, and the only way for the servers to get there is through this great big sliding glass door in front. Not good! they kept leaving it open, allowing hot air to waft in like a Khamsin wind! On the upside, I ordered a stir fry with beef and shrimps, and was pleasantly surprised at how many shrimps there were, and how large they were! Not impressed with the few, skimpy bits of beef in there, though. I ordered mine at a 1 for spicyness and my husband ordered a 2(yes, the higher the number, the more spicy. Brave husband!!) What was served seemed to be reversed — although both of us were wiping our noses! Mine seemed spicier than his though, which made me wonder if the kitchen got the orders mixed up. Off the scale for fabulous: they offer this desert that is stellar, which had bananas rolled in a thin layer of crusty stuff, and fried, and included a mango ice cream that was out of this world! Save room for this! Overall, this place was just ok.
