I should probably confess that I am a coffee fiend, not a connoisseur but a fiend. I don’t like flavoured coffee. I can’t tell if a roast is wet or dry-processed. You will never hear me describing the body of a particular coffee as being«bright» or «woody». And I’m not opposed to drinking coffee that has been sitting on the burner in a pot all day, if that’s ALL that is available. I group coffee as 1) Regular roast, 2) Dark roast and 3) Airplane coffee. That being said, my review is based on the particular location, amenities and staff — I can’t tell you if the coffee is any better here than at another Second Cup because it all generally tastes the same to me and the price is that same at each location — comparable to Starbucks or Bridgehead. The service is usually quick and pleasant. The store is kept clean(tables cleared and wiped). They recently changed some of their«comfy» seats to tables and chairs, which was a disappointment to me since I prefer the armchairs. The wi-fi is strong, but it is limited to one hour/purchase and you need to obtain a password from the barista(understandable, given the location and the tendency of people to stand just outside the store and download questionable material). There is a fairly large outdoor/covered seating section which is nice, although you’re right beside the Transitway buses. Overall, a decent location, but not my favourite due to the seating and wi-fi.

This is the best Second Cup in the city. Every time I have been in, I’ve received excellent service. All the employees are friendly and helpful and often remember the orders of frequent customers. I’ve never once had an issue with anyone there. I remember watching an episode of Undercover Boss Canada with the CEO of Second Cup and when she described how she thought their stores should be, I immediately thought of this location.
