Was visiting Bayshore’s food court for the first time since the big Reno and move. A few new places caught my eye, but ultimately settled on Shanghai 360 as the food looked the best and freshest. Funny how things work out sometimes. The nice noodles were great and the one dim sum I got was also good(I simply asked the girl working there which one was her favorite). The entrees I got with my noodles on the other hand were… well…ok. I got the pan fried fish(I would suggest their pan was at the bottom of a deep fat frier), the peppered beef(not bad actually) and Gen Tao chicken(more like Gen Tao batter, as I am not sure where the chicken was in there). I should stress that I rate restaurants on varying scales… the standard I expect from a food court is not the same as from a fancy restaurant. That said, had it not been for the rice noodle and perhaps the generous serving size, this may have been a 1 or 2 star review. Rather a putty if you ask me!

I was at Bayshore Shopping Mall and hungry so I decided to stop by the newly renovated food court. Shanghai 360 is the first place you see when you get off of the escalator. The saw me approaching and offered me a free sample. It was a piece of battered and fried fish. It was good, albeit heavy on the batter. I decided to check out the other places before making my decision, but eventually went back to Shanghai 360 because nothing else really interested me. So I got the Combo 1($ 6.79) which is your choice of 1 entrée and noodles or rice. I got the General Tao’s Chicken and the Shanghai Noodles. I also got a fountain soda($ 1.49). The General Tao’s Chicken should more accurately be called General Tao’s Fried Batter because there was so much batter and hardly any chicken! The miniscule amount of chicken that was in this dish was fatty. This is a real shame because if they actually put more chicken(and use non-fatty chicken) in this dish it would be delicious. The batter is so crispy and crunchy, and the sauce is sweet and tangy with just the right amount of spice. I was so disappointed :(So much lost potential. The Shanghai Noodles were udon noodles stir-fried in a soy sauce with a tiny bit of cabbage, shredded carrots and onions. They were ok, but nothing really special. They should put more vegetables in this dish. I liked that you can choose these noodles for your combo without being charged extra because most places only allow you to have the fried rice or the little skinny noodles with their combos. The staff are really nice and they are generous with free samples. The prices are good. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment.

It’s ok Tried the chicken crunchy noodles, it’s not bad. The other combo items are good but will not order Dim sum, wonton soup noodle. They were overcooked.
