My wife and I have been going here for a year and a half. We enjoy ourselves everytime. great chicken, good salad bar. Great service in the form of Melissa. She is efficient, friendly, and funny. here’s a note for other reviewers. If youre not happy with the service here, ask for Melissa. tell her the guy with the bad«poutine joke» sent you.

I went to Scores for the first time on Saturday. We expected the chicken to be delicious and juicy. Unfortunately the chicken was so dry. I was glad to have gravy until I tasted it. It was extremely salty. The fries were frozen fries. I was very disappointed. I will not go back, instead I will stick with Swiss Chalet.

I went here for lunch with some coworkers and overall the experience was just alright. The service was slow and the waiter seemed overwhelmed and not sure of the menu. When our food came it was good for the type of food it is. I had a wrap and poutine and was surprised when the poutine had real cheese curds so that was good. The wrap was a spicy chicken(can’t remember what it was called) but it was good, the mayo is served on the side which was a disappointment when I took half my wrap home I didn’t get any of the spicy mayo which added a lot of flavor and moisture to the wrap. One coworker ordered the chicken and got rice and the rice did not look very good at all, they ended up getting stuff from the salad bar to add to the rice to make it tastier. It’s not the best food but it’s good and the salad bar looked decent but I didn’t want to pay an extra $ 4 to have it as my side with my wrap. To pay you have to go up to the cash which was a pain because being a larger group we had to wait in line and it took quite awhile to pay. Overall, I won’t go running back here but if someone wants to go I would go again.

Boring. And dangerous. We got the gluten-free menu and some advice from the server and thought, great! Wrong! The meals came with a BUN and a container of the non-GF sauce. Sloppy. Not worth the price.

The best average restaurant I’ve ever been to. By that I mean it does nothing wrong, like I can’t properly complain about anything. They have healthy options. They have great staff. Their chicken good. They have a salad bar. They have beer. No single thing stand out but they check all the boxes. It’s just so average, like that guy you see all the time but never remember his face. This is my go to «I don’t know what I want but I don’t want to spend much» place. FYI, the best choice on the menu if the chicken platter with salad bar. Don’t even pick something else, just get this. Still hungry? You’re doing it wrong. It’s an all you can eat salad bar and its delicious.

Horrible, the staff wasn’t interested in serving us. The salad bar items were old and limp and the lettuce was browning. Kitchen food was about the quality you’d expect from the pick up counter at loblaw’s.

dined in with one other guest just shortly after the lunch ‘hour’. I was immediately overwhelmed by the less than pleasant stench that was present the minute you walked through the doorway. It resembled what a bathroom smells like, and after a visit to the bathroom I confirmed that was indeed the odour I was dealing with. Not sure if its that cloth seats have had accidents on them by some of the younger patrons but the smell was difficult to get past. However, I forged ahead and felt I could get past it after sitting for a few minutes and focusing more on the company I had with me rather than on my surroundings. These are the decisions you make when you are ravenous and tired. The food was what’s to be expected, I had the 6pce chicken tortillas which came hot, cheesy and not much flavour. The French fries were fine, but only just fine, the flavour was enhanced with mayonnaise but the texture wasn’t really there to begin with. My partner had the burger which was ‘well’ cooked so was otherwise dry and unimaginative. It came with tomato which he requested to be removed. When we removed it at the table, it was kind of… brown in the centre, something that I don’t think would have been served if the patron was actually able to see it on a salad. So, not impressed that they tried to sneak less than fresh produce in under our unsuspecting noses. I will say, I never got used to the smell and it actually made for a rather unpleasant experience. I will not go back again. I think if its chicken I want, Swiss Chalet or St. Hubert or better yet Nando’s will fit that bill nicely.

I’ve only had the takeout here and it was fast, decent, and cheap, so there’s no much to complain about.

What a surprise! A chain in the Train Yards and the food was awesome. We both ordered the 2 favourites. My partner had the ribs with a few chicken tenders and I had the quarter chicken that came with the all you can eat salad/food bar. The chicken was moist and not over done, and yes the ribs were fall off your fork and didn’t need a knife to separate them! Everything was great and way more than I could finish. I do like that they have a regular and moderate size for most of their choices. I should have picked the moderate. I had 2 small plates of salad assortments, thinking I would save the fruit for dessert. Never even made it to the end of my main course! Their french fries were average, nothing special, as was their coffee. Not bad, not great. I definately would recommend this over Montanas at every turn and plan on returning, Prices were moderate and good for what we had.

The price is right. I like the salad bar concept. Chicken is good, ribs are ok. I’ve got the club sandwich for takeout a bunch of times: a good chunk of chicken breast, none of the sliced crap.

This place is very affordable. And by extension, the food tastes very affordable too. I’m not saying its bad. It’s what you’d expect from Scores. I had the grilled chicken breast sandwich with fries and a Heineken. No surprise, no frills, no adventure, and the chicken was dry. Very edible but boring and left me wanting Nando’s. My wife had a leg with rice which came with access to the soup, salad and fruit bar. That’s where the real value is at Scores, and my wife appreciated it for what it is: veggies, canned soup with some celery thrown in, and fruit — a fail safe product that easily adds value to your already frugal meal. I’m not sure if I’ll go back, but I won’t avoid it if I happen to have a craving for dry chicken, average fries, canned soup and a bunch of fresh produce

Like the other reviews point to, this place is just OK. It appears the highlight really is the salad bar, but to me it looked a little sub-par average. I mean, even the bacon bits at the salad bar were simulated. So I passed. You can get free all you can eat salad bar access if you order the Chicken or the Ribs, or pay $ 3.95 with other entrees to add it to your meal if you’re so inclined. The service at Scores was OK. It was more awkward than typical, but our orders were taken and our food was delivered hot. I was there with friends who did enjoy the Frozen Lime drink and the ribs(although agreement was that Montana’s Ribs were superior). As for my meal, I tried their chicken strips and fries and neither were great. It was served with what looked like half a toasted hamburger bun and Scores«BBQ sauce» which tasted more like some watery gravy concoction to me. All in all, if you’re in the Trainyard for a meal, try Scores if you’re really dying for rotisserie chicken or ribs. Otherwise, I think you can do better in the area. Final comment — anyone know why its called Scores? To me it sounds like a sports bar title, but there wasn’t even a TV in the place.

This place is alright. Nothing special. I went there because it was my grandmother’s choice. She kept raving about the included salad bar with some of the main course options. I checked it out… looked pretty standard to me. Food was fine, but looked like stuff I could have prepared with ease. Service was good, no complaints there. I ordered a chicken caesar salad, which was fine. Nothing special, but it’s not a very special thing to order to begin with. I was given a good tip by the waitress. Apparently, if you order the chicken caesar, they sometimes give you fake bacon bits. If you ask for real, they give you real(no extra cost), so make sure to do that! I appreciated the tip, but grossed out that they wouldn’t include real bacon to begin with, assuming they’ll do it anyway! I tried my husband’s chicken, which comes with gravy… chicken was chicken… gravy was salty. We also had to wait for quit awhile. The line moved quicker than we were expecting to wait, but I’m not sure why this place is so popular… because it’s there? Let’s put it this way. I would never have chosen this place to begin with and would never choose it again… there is much better out there and in the direct vicinity, UNLESS my grams wanted to go back. In which case, I also wouldn’t have a problem eating here again, because it’s fine. Swiss Chalet is better.

I went here with coworkers for a quick staff lunch. We were seated right away, and were out within an hour, which I thought was quite amazing considering we were a group of ten! I was the only vegan in the group, and I have to say that my options were very limited. It was my first Scores experience and it will probably be my last, unless I have to go back with coworkers on a business lunch or something, for which I would have no control over picking the location. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food, and I don’t think there were any complaints. For me, I had very little options, which were limited to the salad bar. I was able to make myself a semi-decent salad with soy nuts, pumpkin seeds, veggies and some slightly old-looking lettuce. Overall it did the job, but by no means would I ever recommend this place. If you’re a vegan and you have to choose an omnivorous place to go eat with non-vegans, then at least you know you can eat all the salad you want here.

This review rating is based solely on service. The food was ok and prices decent but service was the worst I’ve seen. We had to wait 20+ min after drinks were empty to find our server to ask for a refill, 30+ min to ask for our bill and another 20+ to find our server to pay. When we asked another server for help to pay the bill we were given the«don’t talk to me» hand and told he’ll be back soon. Will not be back to this place and it left a sour taste about visiting other locations.
