I think of all the cafes I’ve been into, this one is the most quality. Their chai lattes are delicious, and I am not a big fan of lattes. I also enjoyed their nanaimo bars. They do not overload with sugar like most other places. For example, one bite of an Oat Fudge Bar at Starbucks has enough sugar to make me throw up. Their chai lattes aren’t much different. Here at Roast and Brew I could drink the chai latte and eat the Nanaimo bar together without getting sugar sickness. Also, they sell local art in there.

This is another coffee shop that Hubby likes more than I do — however, it’s A-OK. Their bakery goods are plastic wrapped. They have some interesting and healthy options for lunch(which I see as one of their strengths). Also — their location is great in the heart of The Glebe and in the summer, with an outdoor patio it’s a great time to take advantage of the«coffee to go» loop hole and have coffee on the patio with your dog. :-) For the coffee — my old standby is a latte — theirs is ok. I’d love it to be a bit stronger, but it’s drinkable. There is usually pretty good music on — Jazz the last time we were in there. Would I return: Yes, when hubby wants to go to there. Would I recommend: If they just moved to The Glebe and wanted to know where to do, this would be on the list of places I’d name.

Stopped in for a coffee with my girlfriend as it is a convenient meeting point between our places and we hadn’t been to Roast ‘n Brew before. The store was clean and barista very friendly. I ordered what was possibly the best chai latte I’ve ever had from any place.

A friend and I had head out for a walk along the canal after a big dump of rain and decided to get some tea to warm up from the new found fall. We were surprised to see that anywhere was open at 9pm on a holiday Monday, but pleased nevertheless. My friend got an iced coffee and I went for a steamed cider. I don’t remember how much her iced coffee came to but she said she really enjoyed it. A good mix and she complimented it right from the get go. My apple cider was okay, I believe it was from a mix, nothing memorable and no distinct flavour above the apple/cinnamon. The one complaint I do have is that it cost me almost $ 4 for a medium cup of what was essentially hot apple juice. It wasn’t clear from the taste that it was actually organic, or a special mix. Have to say I won’t have that again. The place itself wasn’t bad. If I were in the hood and needed somewhere to sit and read I’d put this on the list of places. They also have what looks like an amazing selection of cakes, so that’d be worth going back for.
