I have been on a mission to find the best burger in Ottawa and I HAVEFOUNDIT! I have been here 3 times now and each time has been consistently good! I have the«Hangover Burger», which is a burger with a cooked egg on top to the style of your choosing. I have tried the burger that has the Brisket on top and another burger which has onion rings on top. All of the above are delicious. I have also tried their poutine, which is amazing, they use a dark and rich beef gravy on top, it is soooooo good. Lastly, a must try is their adult milkshake, I tried their chocolate with kalooha.

Went there on a Sunday at about 430 pm. Close enough to dinner hour that they should have had more than ! server on!!! Super slow to get drinks and when she finally did come ordered right away in fear of how much longer it might take to get order in and food served. Was not even that busy. Drinkers at the bar, 1 table inside and maybe 2 on patio. Issue was that the server made no attempt to earn her tip. Had the personality of a wet mop and really did nothing but write the order down and deliver the food. Wanted the full experience as it was my first time there, so ordered an alcoholic beverage, an appy, meal and dessert… Food was in fact good but WAYTOOOVERPRICED!!! My burger was $ 17! And the appetizer — chips basically, was $ 7. Had deep fried Oreos, 5 of them, and they were $ 7.50! Pretty sure I could get 2 – 3 bags of Oreos for that price. Another irritating thing was that on ‘Sunday’, it was dollar off Caesar’s(drink) and the desserts were supposed to be half price. Good thing I read the table placard or this would not have happened. Charged full price of course… The POS and/or the server, should pay more attention to what day it is and take off the bill automatically… All in all hesitant to go back. I have no problem paying for good food but refuse to tip well for crappy service, busy or not! One hit wonder in my opinion :(

I liked the environment when I came inside this place. Staff was nice. Service was good. I got the inferno burger, I asked to replace the banana peppers with sautéed onions. They told me that they don’t do replacements for toppings and it would cost me 50 cents. That kind of sucked. It may be a little over priced, but when I ate my burger it was delicious. The multi grain bun was soft, the burger patty was think, juicy and better then the works patties in my opinion. And the jack Daniels BBQ sauce was amazing! If you don’t mind spending a little extra money I would suggest this place. Average price for a burger with fries is between 15 – 20 $ depends on the patty too since they also offer lamb patties.

Sometimes, you just want a burger, and this place delivers just that, a good, Angus beef burger. After an afternoon of shopping, stopped by for a late lunch and throroughtly enjoyed a Bull Burger. The patty tasted fresh, Brioche bun well proportioned and the Onion Ring was a nice touch, and it wasn’t messy one bit. What else goes well with a good burger you ask? Why, good fries, and a good drink. Offering a good selection of Draft beer, I was pleased to find their fries on part with the quality of the burgers they offer. Will certainly go back.

Of all the burger places in the city I’ve been to, this has got to be the worst one. I ordered an Inferno Burger. Now inferno is fire which means hot, so I ordered it expecting something spicy. I got it and it had the most disgusting sauce on it that tasted like a cross between high fructose corn syrup and sadness. I gagged, I swear. The service was good; they switched it for the original, but let’s be honest: good service is nice, but when I’m going to a restaurant I’m going for the purpose of enjoying food, which this restaurant did not supply. And if the sauce alone wasn’t bad enough, the burger itself tasted like bologna. World Burger, Five Guys, The Works, and even Burgers and Fries Forever are all significantly cheaper than this place and the burgers are actually good.

I will start off by saying that I was not impressed with the food. For being a burger bar, the burgers were sub par. The buns were strange tasting and greasy, the burger tasted overcooked. I was more impressed by the other food than the burger. The fries were perfect, and the goat cheese spinach dip was tasty. The burgers were on the high side of cost, in the mid teens in terms of price. Also, the gravy was really thick but tasted like water. They’d have been better to use the Knorr mix. That said, the atmosphere was pretty nice, the waitress was very friendly and accommodating. They did remake a burger that tasted pretty awful. It was supposed to be spicy but turned out a strange mix of sweet and hot dog.

Went to prime burger bar for the first time and it was fantastic! I would definitely go back again. Although the menu is a tad pricy it is worth it. The atmosphere and décor was very nice. The food was delicious and portions were pretty generous. I had the chicken sliders which were delicious as well as their raspberry mojito which was also excellent. Our server, Robin was very friendly and our table never ran out of water or had to ask for another drink.

Okay, to start off, two stars may seem a bit harsh but after going here twice, each time with three different people, and all feeling unimpressed after dinner, the ‘I’ve experienced better’ rating applies. So, as noted, I’ve been twice, each time ordering a different menu item. The first time back in January was their grilled chicken flatbread appetizer, the chipolte burger and the deep friend oreos for dessert. The second time was the appetizer sampler and the ‘prime paris’ burger. FOOD With regards to the appetizers, the grilled chicken flatbread wasn’t bad and the appetizer sampler which comes with flatbread, chicken fingers, chicken wings, and calamari wasn’t bad(except for the calamari which I didn’t like the texture of). For the burgers, I remember the chipotle burger being a bit unimpressive and this continued with the prime paris burger which included brie, bacon and truffle oil. The bacon was a bit undercooked(which didn’t help), the burger was overcooked(like the first time) and over all generally bland. Just as a note, you can have bread or lettuce as your bun so if you are on a protein diet, you can do away with the bun which is nice, but they charge extra for the lettuce which I think is silly. With regards to your side, you can have fries, sweet potatoe fries, and salad. I had the sweet potatoe fries the first time and regular fries the second. I didn’t mind the sweet potatoe ones but the regular ones weren’t that good. I read that they cut their own fries and confirmed with the waitress if they were frozen and she said no but they do taste like frozen fries to me or at least not good fresh cut fries.(For sure not like grocery store fries but more akin to Harvey’s or something). STYLE I do like the look of the place as it has a nice feel to it. I never went when it was Big Daddy’s Crab Shack so I don’t know how much they changed things. SERVICE Service was pretty good. Never had trouble talking to our waitress and she kept in touch with all her tables. One critique though is that she stated that it takes 15 minutes to cook the burgers and it was a lot less time than that. Normally this isn’t a bad thing but the food came out earlier than we wanted as we were waiting for another friend. VALUE Have to say that it is pretty middle of the road meaning, yes it is pricey but so are a lot of the other burger places. If I hadn’t had appetizers, I would probably still be hungry after having just the burger and admittedly my appetite isn’t as much as it used to be so while the burger is probably a decent size, they could up the size of the side for the price. RESERVATIONS? Well, both times I went here was on a Friday evening and I had no trouble making a reservation the day of, which is a rarity in Ottawa now(unfortunately). The place was pretty full around 7pm but nearly empty by 8pm. PARKING As it is part of a outdoor mall with Lone Star, you shouldn’t have to worry about parking that much. WOULD I GOBACK? After going twice and being unimpressed both times, no. This isn’t to say it was awful, just that it was nothing special. Basically, if I’m going out for a burger, I want a good one that I will enjoy and Prime Burger doesn’t fit the bill(though to be fair, neither does The Works, Burgers on Main, or some others).

The place is nice and spacious. Great décor and service. But the food is just ok. For a burger joint it is disappointing that the burgers are fried and not grilled. I hate when places don’t grill the meat. Grilled meat just tastes better and when you’re a burger joint it is key. Also the toppings on the burger were mediocre. I had caramelized onions and mushrooms and saw little of either. The sides are good. My friend had the truffle fries and we shared a truffle mac cheese. Both had a very good truffle flavor. Overall it was ok, but it is not better than other burger places in the city. I’d say it is between Meh & A-OK.

you’re paying a lot for not that much… I will give them credit for a super thick well cooked patty, but I have to say there was serious skimping on everything else. I had the Chipotle burger and it was a bun, patty, 2 pieces of bacon, one slice of cheese and a sloppy sauce that had so little flavour the only taste I was getting was the ground beef. A piece of tomato or lettuce would have made me a lot happier. Of course there was mustard and ketchup to put on if I wanted, but the flavour that there was from the chipotle/avocado mush would not have worked with them at all. Disappointing over all if you want interesting burgers, but if you’re going in for the straight forward burger that you can add your own toppings to, it would have been a slightly better experience. Oh and DONOT spend your money on the spinach/goat cheese dip! while tasty, it was definitely not worth the $ 12 for the amount you get. It’s roughly the amount of a generous ice cream scoop on a plate loaded with bread. Rip off.

Good burgers. Nice décor, friendly staff. Little pricey but worthwhile on occasion. I am glad to see the spot that was Big Daddy’s being put to good use. I had the Classic with cheese and a few pints of Guinness.
