Such a cute local restaurant! We came in for lunch and was greeted by friendly people right away. It’s a small place and I think if it wasn’t for the rain that day, there wouldn’t be enough seatings. They have a cute menu with a few items to choose from which made it easier to choose from. I had a salad with chicken while my boyfriend had one of their sandwiches. The salad was a good portion and I was definitely satisfied afterwards. The sandwich was pretty good too with so much flavor in it!
They also served local beers and there was this one blueberry beer that I loved. A great place to check if you’re in the area!

I go here solely for the waffles! I mean who doesn’t love brunch! There isn’t a large list to chose from, but again it’s quality over quantity; what they have they do right. The café itself is unique in terms of location, interior space and art displayed. It used to be that you’d order find a spot to sit, and grab your food. Very «every man or woman for themselves», now since renovations there’s a lot more seating and server will take your order and you pay up at the bar at the end of your meal. My favourite sweet waffle is the Seasonal fruits waffle with whipped cream! As for savoury I really like «The Hangover», but my goal is to try everything on the menu. Enjoy!

The refried black bean sandwich was very good. A lot of people taking up space inside. The jerk chicken sandwich was overly salty. Nice ambiance and good service.

Came here for lunch for the first time after being here for a show a few weeks ago. I really like the chill vibe, the good selection of beer, and the fresh and creative food!
I was searching around for a place to plug in, a kind customer offered to share her table where o could plug in, and I had the Asian eggplant tempura sandwich, it was delicious! To drink I had a house iced tea with their loose leaf orange rooibos. All very delicious!

The egg benny waffle was one of the best breakfast items I have ever eaten. It was soft, fluffly, sweet, salty, eggy, smooth, all the right notes you want to hit for breakfast. It came out amazingly fast and the whole atmosphere is very hipster but very relaxed and chill. There is parking nearby and the washroom is kinda weird. But its part of the atmosphere I suppose. Price was average. Service was good. No complaints here. A very solid breakfast joint for the ottawa area.

The waffle florentine with kale is such a fantastic spin on the traditional Spanish eggs florentine. It’s was delicious. All the waffle brunches are $ 12.95 which includes a juice or bottomless coffee.
Love poached eggs on waffles. Definite a treat

Ordered the chicken waffle, both the waffle and chicken were lukewarm. The sauce and chicken had good flavours, but Service was questionable!!!

Amazing sandwiches. We had Jerk and Chicken, both were delicious. Good coffee and ambiance.

I was recommended this place when I was looking for a place that had good waffles for breakfast. Decided to try it out with a friend a few months ago.
Major disappointment.
I had the cheddar and apple waffle while my friend had the chicken waffle.
For the price, the serving was quite small, the waffle wasn’t thick and fluffy, it tasted like a pre-​made batter out of a box from the grocery store. The cheese was cheap grated cheddar and the apples were still hard, barely warm and not caramelized like advertised on the menu.
I left Pressed still hungry.
Won’t be returning, nor will I recommend. The waffles at Cora’s was better.

Been here once after reading reviews on Unilocal and was looking for a casual but also delicious and filling lunch and this was perfect for that! Sandwiches were amazing with fresh cold cuts and sandwich fillings. Would definitely come back. Sweet potato chips are delicious! Really great ambience that’s relaxed and comforting but also trendy.

Another stop based in You Gotta Eat Here. There was a small wait to get in on a Sunday afternoon at noon. The wait was worth it though. We bothe had the Benny waffle with bacon. The meal was delicious! The hollandaise sauce was yummy, the bacon was thick and crunchy just the way I like it and the waffles just the right amt of sweetness. It went well together. Also the lattes were really good. You have to go up to the counter to order your food though. I didn’t know that so wished the y would have asked if we’d been here before to tell us that. We waited at our table for a while before we figured it out.
Oh and the sweet potato chips are yummy. Make sure to get the sauce as well.

Was visiting Ottawa and needed a good brunch spot. This place doesn’t offer a lot of variety but they do waffles and they do them right. Order at the counter and they bring them to your table. Coffee or tea is included. Only thing I wish they had was a Caesar on the menu– gotta have a Caesar at brunch! It was also super hot that day and they don’t have A/​C, so be warned.

One my favourite places in Ottawa. Atmosphere is excellent the waffles are great and there’s a super good selection of sandwiches and desserts. Check out also the local zine section the craft beers and sodas. Highly recommend the Waffle Benedict. Can also catch a great show at night.

Overall the coffee and food was good. One of us got the super hangover poutine waffle and that was delicious and oversauced. We two girls chose the the apple and cheese dish, which was meant to come with applewood smoked bacon bacon (sounds delicious? that was a selling feature for sure!) and it was a pretty skimpy half piece of bacon… aside from that an overall 3 star experience.

Had the Trout sandwich and a mochaccino and my girlfriend had the wild boar sandwich and a craft sofa. We both really enjoyed our meals! Each one came with a side of yam chips, which I had never had before but they were great! The coffee was great too! The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good coffee, good food, and good atmosphere. This was our first stop for food while staying in Ottawa and we were really happy with it.

Great gluten free sandwiches and delicious coffee. I love that you can pick almond milk, instead of milk or soy. They were out of the gf mini cheesecakes the last couple times I’ve been there (last time they had no desserts left really) and I was craving something sweet :(but overall, I loved their sandwiches and sweet potatoes chips and will be back here.

Pressed is my go-​to café for coffee with friends, a study date with myself, or a tasty sandwich lunch. The food is really good (highly recommend the falafel sandwich and the chicken/​roast red peppers Panini thing), and they often have hearty seasonal things, like stews and soups this past winter. They also serve beer and cider, and have a really fun Sunday brunch — it’s a great place to go!
My favourite time to visit Pressed is weekday afternoons, when it isn’t very busy and you can drink tea and work for a couple hours without anyone bothering you. Only tip: evenings can get crowded when there’s an event, so check the schedule on their website before you go.

Have only been in here once (which is a shame because I do live close) and I ordered the daily special, which happened to be a meatball sub and a long fresh ciabatta bun with a garlic pesto, smoked provolone and Parmesan. D F****** licious. It came with sweet potato fries and I ordered a gluten free brownie that was heavenly.
Tons of great options and very friendly to all sorts of crowds.

We stopped by here for breakfast when my sister and her fiancé were in town for the weekend. We were a party of 4, and we found the place on Unilocal!After reading the reviews we knew we had to try it, and it delivered on it’s promise!
Great food, comfortable atmosphere and kind staff.
When you walk in the first thing you will notice is the extremely laid back approach to the décor, they have utilized many vintage finds — I would classify it as eclectic. There was also an assortment of artworks from local artists adorning the walls.
I ordered the vegetarian breakfast sandwich, which came with a fried egg, greens and smoked salsa in a croissant — it was perfection!
I tasted the other’s orders which were spinach waffles with eggs Benedict and they were very good as well. All the food was super fresh and delicious.
The service was fast, and the people working there were very nice (that’s always a plus for me!).

I’ve been to Pressed a few times, one sit-​down for their waffle brunch, the others take-​out sandwiches.
I tried it for the first time with a friend for the waffle brunch — the lineup went out the door but there wasn’t too much space to stand and wait inside and we were seated fairly quickly anyway. It did take about 10 – 15 minutes to get a menu and some water, but the restaurant was busy and we were patient. We knew right away exactly what we were going to order — the Benedict, with house-​smoked bacon, poached eggs, and house-​made hollandaise on a waffle. It took another 10 minutes for a server to come around to take our orders — again, patience. What we weren’t so patient about was waiting 40 minutes to get our brunch. We went through glasses and glasses of water to help stave off the hunger, which we ended up serving ourselves due to our server not actually serving us. The whole idea of brunch is to combine breakfast and lunch, but when you haven’t eaten yet and already spent an hour in total just waiting in one place, you get just a liiiitle bit cranky pants. We finally got our waffles and guess what — they were cold! The waffles, eggs, bacon, and hollandaise sauce were all cold. It’s quite a shame, really, because it sounded spectacular, the portions were fair, and the taste was great, but lacking in warmth and the bacon wasn’t crispy and quite difficult to chew due to the thickness (more like jerky). My friend had allotted a couple of hours for brunch but felt rushed because of all of the waiting, including waiting longer than usual to get our bills to pay. She was really unimpressed, and, frankly, I felt bad for taking her there, even though these things were out of my control.
I was so disappointed with the waffle brunch but wanted to give them another shot at a time when they weren’t so packed. I stopped by around dinner time one weeknight just for a quick sandwich and the place was really dead, with no one at any of the tables. I ordered their smoked trout sandwich with lemon dill aioli and guacamole, which came with house-​made sweet potato chips. Took about 15 minutes but I wasn’t in a rush. The sandwich also came with spinach, which wasn’t on the menu item description but a very good addition. The ciabatta bread was more like a baguette in texture, though I didn’t have a problem with it. It did take some effort to eat in a non-​messy, no trout and guacamole falling all over the place kind of way, but it was delicious and very filling. The sweet potato chips were thin and perfectly fried and crispy, not greasy. If they weren’t so expensive for a small bag by themselves ($ 3?), I’d likely buy more. About 10 bucks without tax for the meal — not cheap for a sandwich, but the quality isn’t cheap either, and much better than the waffle I had previously.
After having their smoked trout sandwich, I went back a couple of times in the morning for their breakfast sandwich. I like the one with house-​smoked bacon, fried egg, provolone, and roasted garlic mayo on a croissant — not that the other one doesn’t look good, but I’m a meat lover. It also took about 10 – 15 minutes before it was ready, but it was nice and hot and tasted amazing! I had to try the bacon for a second time after the brunch and it did not disappoint in the breakfast sandwich. Much, much better food and service when their employees aren’t running around trying to attend to everyone.
