TLDR; lovely service and high tea with ok ambience Overall, I was quite impressed with my experience at Nectar Fine Teas. We had the full high tea on a Saturday afternoon. The food was fresh, tasty and substantial. The tea selection was great and the servers were very knowledgeable and attentive. FOOD fruit salad — refreshing, sweet. Grapes, kiwi and honeydew melon. Soup — mini serving, tasty and warm. Ours was lentil with apricot and yogurt Finger Sandwiches — OK. I liked the smoked salmon. Scones with Clotted Cream & Jam– the BEST part. I was surprised by how tasty the cranberry orange scone was. I was prepared not to like it. Vanilla bean scone was good. Desert — Stubbe chocolate(fabulous) and mini lemon tart. Tea — Server was very knowledgeable. I picked a white tea I didn’t love, but that was my own fault. The selection was excellent and they served it traditionally. In my opinion, a black tea or milk oolong would go best with the food. AMBIENCE This is where they lost a star for me. The room is very quaint and cosy with a lot of natural light which was excellent. However, it is also extremely quiet so you can hear everyone else’s conversations. Also, it was really cold inside so I never felt really comfortable.

It’s a little pricey if you never do this kind of stuff before, however, I was seriously amazed at how great tasting all the snacks were. My favorite were the scones. They look rock hard, but when you bite into one, it’s so fresh, hot and soft in the middle. It’s to die for. Hands down the best scone I’ve ever had. And it says a lot because I usually hate scones. But everything else was just as tasty! The teas were delicious and very fun. I had a wonderful first«high tea» experience and I’d do it again! :)

The selection of high quality teas here is really spectacular. The blends are unique and creative while remaining subtle. The attached café is also a great space to grab a tea and a snack.

Update to previous review: went here in a group of 10 for«High Tea», and it was stellar. Certainly a repeat for some future event. They offer 2 sittings for High Tea, at 2:00 and again at 4:00, and you must book your party for it. Don’t rush through this event — it really does take 2 hours. They make their scones fresh, on site — sticking them in the oven as soon as your group arrives so that they are ready and served warm for your party. You are served samples of several different munchies such as sandwhiches on a variety of breads, on a 3-tiered plate, complete with an appetizer of fruit salad then a tiny cup of soup before this sampler plate comes out, and deserts on top. The chocolates are made locally in Westboro and flavoured with Nectar’s teas. Oh, and of course, your very own pot of perfectly brewed tea of your choice. The room is small enough to give a cozy atmosphere, and you get very personal service. The seating area holds only 4 to 5 tables. The most they could hold here would be about 10, maybe 12. Definitely a repeatable experience!

Nice tea selection if you are a hardcore, don’t-mess-with-my-pure-tea kind of person. You will definitely get the real thing here, which is to say there aren’t any(or many) mixes. They offer little lunch items and it’s a nice place to have a quite chat with a friend, but I wouldn’t recommend going with a group of more than two people as space is limited. Staff is friendly enough and knowledgable. Definitely a quite and calming atmosphere. They offer take-out tea services as well(iced or hot tea).
