I ordered a small moving kit to be delivered to the greater Montréal area. It included 4 sizes of new boxes, some tape and bubble wrap. It was supposed to include a marker, but I did not receive it with my package.
— The price was competitive with other similar packages available, and they often run sales. If you live directly in the Ottawa region there are extras like cleaning kit samples available.
— If you choose to order, please make sure you read the delivery terms and conditions.
I did not, and this caused some confusion. In the payment page, they ask for a suggested delivery time (which I filled out, and assumed because they asked they would honor approximately the time I requested). Because of where I am located I received a blanket 9 am to 6 pm delivery time, so be prepared to take a day off a work. In the end my boxes arrived at 5:30pm. A day pretty much wasted.
The delivery information IS listed, but you have to navigate to another page to read it. If you are like me, and pretty much live off your phone, you are going to miss it. The link is at the top of the payment page. If you aren’t in a hurry, read them so that you get the delivery time you need or you can make an informed decision.
— They were fast to reply to email and public Facebook inquires, but let the machine pick up the line when you call direct.
— In addition, «next business day delivery» means something different to me then to them. I ordered over the weekend, and requested a Tuesday delivery. For them, they received the order Monday meaning that it should have been processed Tuesday and therefore delivered after that time??? I believe it was inferred that a favor was done by my order being processed and shipped so quickly.
— the boxes don’t come in a box, nor were they wrapped to protect them from damage or weather, which is fine. But because the boxes are different sizes the larger boxes end up ripped. They are held together with that shipping strap stuff. I will have to duct tape the ripped edges of the large boxes in order to make them usable (or so that I feel comfortable using them). I contacted the company about this, and they told me that its the flaps.. .so wouldn’t affect the integrity of the box strength. I do agree, but having paid for the boxes I would have appreciated receiving them in new/​usable condition. Replacements were not offered.
–CanPAR delivered the boxes and they REEK of cigarette smoke (I’m asthmatic, so I am sensitive to the smoke). I mean they smell AWFUL! MovingBoxes has a Facebook post about not using garbage boxes.. . which was part of the reason I decided to purchases boxes in the first place.. . We are packing up stuff in our house to stage it, so my belongings will be in these STENCH covered boxes for perhaps months. I hope including a bunch of dryer sheets in the boxes will stop my clothing and linens from smelling like an ashtray.
–The boxes themselves are well branded for MovingBoxes, and include spaces to write your information, contents etc.
In closing, I am giving a neutral feedback as they are boxes and the will do the function for which I purchased them to do. The mis-​communication about delivery and the ripped boxes irk me, but the cigarette stench covered boxes piss me off!
