Gabriel Pizza

Tried calling the number here and the number doesn’t work. And the website doesn’t have the numbers. Just lost my business hit your competitor down the street.

Gabriel’s has good pizza! It’s heavy — there’s a LOT of cheese — but sometimes it’s what you want. The pizza is expensive, but it isn’t overpriced*. If I want heavy pizza, I get Gabriel’s (with crispy bacon on top, yum) — if I want something lighter I go to 1 for 1 across the street! And that’s lighter in actual weight, not in calories…
*Used to work at an Italian restaurant that sold pizza like this. Cheese is expensive, people! And it seems like real (ish) cheese as opposed to the more plastic, less flavour stuff you’ll find at other joints. Damn right a pizza place that layers a quarter inch of cheese is going to be pricier than the thin layers most places have…

It’s a shame that the people of Ottawa think that this is the best pizza their city could offer them. It is overpriced for no discernible reason, and what deals they do have are misleading and not worth it unless you’re ready to spend $ 30 on a depressing portion.
It’s not the worst slice of pizza ever made, but it shouldn’t continue to be heralded as the best either. The quality, structure, taste, balance, and price are all mediocre. I personally consider their crust to be too thick. Which, when considered alongside their mistreatment of the very important cheese/​sauce ratio, throws the entire pizza off balance and into irrefutable chaos.
They also refused to substitute «double cheese» as an extra topping. That was what brought them from a 3-​star review to a 2-​star for me. A little goes a long way, Gabriels. You should think about changing your limited pizza world-​view and give me the freedom to create the cheesy-​pizza I desire. You’re holding back true pizza innovation with the militant rigidity of your rule-​following and your high prices and I won’t stand for it any longer.

This review is specifically for the Bank street location (at Somerset). Excellent pizza! Large pieces, VERY generous with the toppings, the most cheese I have ever seen on a pizza. Professional attitude when taking my order and during delivery. The delivery time was standard. I didn’t compare the price to others because it was by far the best pizza I have had in Ottawa, and price differences don’t concern me. The price seemed pretty average to me. Will definitely order from this location again. I don’t see any reason to go else… it was that delish.

The «Pizza is okay???» and «nothing special?!!» What kind of reviews are these? What kinda palate-​impaired backwards society do you people come from? This is THEE BEST pizza Ontario has to offer. I’ve been all over this province eating pizza after pizza and this is it folks. This is our guy for the Pizza Olympics. This is Miss Ontario in the next Pizza Pageant. Where do you get the nerve to say that this pizza has «too many toppings, its too big and it has tons of cheese» as if that’s a bad thing??? I don’t know what you people are looking for, but it ain’t pizza. Gabriel, keep ur head up. Nay sayers, up yours.

I haven’t eaten in the restaurant, just pickup, which has worked out well. Call in to their corporate 310 line and 15−20mins later the pizza is ready to come home with me. When calling in, I like that there’s an option to hear the specials without talking to anyone.
The pizza at Gabriel’s is a heavy pizza – thick bready crust, lots of toppings, and tons of cheese on large slices.
I also tried a chef salad. It was a pretty simple salad and nothing special. I had the house dressing, which was creamy and garlicky.
The staff I’ve interacted with are decent – they do their job well, but aren’t very enthusiastic or overly friendly.
The best thing about Gabriel’s is the portions, the small salad was suitable for two people and the pizza slices are huge.

Out of all the Gabriel’s Pizza’s I’ve had, this location is consistently alright. I’m not a fan of the pizza in Ottawa but if I do order delivery it would be from the Bank St Gabriel’s. The delivery is always fast and the pizza is always the same. You know what to expect when ordering from this establishment!

My brother’s in from out of town for the week and after a long weekend, we just wanted to have a pizza and movie-​watching day. We wanted to order in from a really good pizza place, and not just another major chain restaurant, so we thought of Gabriel’s.
We took a quick look at their menu and decided on their «Meatsa Pizza», which is a meat lover’s pizza with bacon strips, Italian sausage, pepperoni, and ham. It was $ 26 for an extra large. We also got one order of Buffalo sauce and three orders of homemade garlic dipping sauces on the side, and a 2L bottle of Pepsi. Altogether, it came to about $ 45 with tax plus tip.
The pizza was pretty salty because of all of the meat toppings, but it was really tasty. They packed on the meat, with much more toppings than I’ve ever seen on a pizza. There was also a thick layer of cheese. The crust was thick, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The slices were huge and there was so much cheese and toppings that they were just falling off the side of every slice once you tore them apart. The dipping sauce wasn’t too garlicky, very creamy, and was a generous portion. Always satisfied with Gabriel’s!
