In a world that is slowly filling up with increasingly expensive gourmet pizza options where you will not be unaccustomed to paying over $ 25 for a large with two toppings, 2-for-1 is basically the only exception that I have come across that combines dirt-cheap pizza prices with a good crust, and half-decent ingredients. Would you pay $ 3.50 for a slice of Bread & Sons admittedly excellent pizza or $ 9.99 for an entire large of 2-for-1’s pizza? The difference in quality is so slight that once I overcame my snobbery for the disgusting store-front, homeless patrons, and outdated hunting arcade game, I realized that I had been paying way too much money for something that is grad school food. And I have a grad-school conscience, and budget. So you can imagine the intense mixture of guilt, and relief that I felt when I found out how homeless people don’t have the worst taste in pizza. The pizza is totally worth it. $ 15 for an XL, give me a break! No one in the world would pass a taste between this stuff, and 90% of the joints on Bank or Elgin! Collonade or Bread & Sons might be better, but they are easily twice the price. You fools! Pizza shouldn’t cost as much as a regular meal. Go to this place. It is worth it. It is open really late. It’s owners do not share the puritan mentality of most Ottawa business owners who believe businesses should close at 8:00.

Let’s start with the pluses. Pizza with late delivery. That’s about it. They do have a good selection of meat and vegetable ingredients, including your standard toppings, plus beef salami, smoked meat, broccoli, artichokes, sundried tomatoes, and feta. They also offer free toppings, like garlic, oregano, and BBQ sauce. BUT — they’re pizza is just. bleh. I’ve definitely had worse, don’t get me wrong, but 2 for 1 should not be one of the places you should consider ordering from. The«deals» aren’t even that great, and no matter how cheap their prices seem in comparison to other places, the pizza isn’t even worth it. I’ve always found it to be greasy and never satisfying, and don’t even get me started on their garlic bread. I hope that none of you have ever paid for burnt bread — what a waste of money! I see a couple people eating at this joint everyday, but I’d suggest walking the extra five minutes to 1 for 1 down the street if you’re looking for convenience.

I may not like Pizza Pizza, but I hate 2 for 1 Pizza. The poor quality of ingredients and the overall pie make you lose your appetite after you’ve eaten just enough to chase the starvation away. Most times, I will fight tooth and nail to keep my friends or co-workers from ordering pizza from this restaurant. Most times, others know the reputation well enough to quickly agree with me. However, I’ve given it a number of chances, usually because the cheap price is so tempting. That’s basically the only perk. Save your money and go elsewhere. If you’re drunk and coming from a late night at Barrymore’s or Babylon, I suppose then I could understand the allure of this pizza joint.
