Extended Stay Deluxe Ottawa – Downtown

Booked through hotwire. Free Wi-​Fi, parking $ 14/​day, room is with full kitchen, bath, balcony, sofa etc. Stayed in 9 th floor, very quite, peaceful. Runs ate clean. Front desk was friendly and helpful when asked about directions.

Booked thru Priceline and got a great deal. Clean rooms, free but slow wifi, nice staff, and close to EVERYTHING… well, almost everything. We could walked to most museums and food so that was nice.

I stayed across the street a few months before at the Cartier, then when that got booked, i stayed here. Its awesome. The staff was super friendly, parking kinda sucked, but whatever.
The room was big, living area and bedroom, with multi closets. The only thing was that the kitchen was a but cramped, and didnt have all the stuff provided like cartier. but besides that, a great experience.
Ill definitely be staying here again.
oh, its also a 5 min walk from McDonalds, pizza pizza, Dunns, the bank, bus lines, and a Pharmacy. and 2 minutes of drive to the Parliament and the mall. LOL

So, while I am temporarily exiled from my apartment I booked a room here on Hotwire. I think the room came to a total of $ 80 with taxes included. For any hotel in a great location like this, that is a fantastic price!
We checked in at like 7PM. Our room was on the 9^th floor and after the painfully long elevator ride (literally it was probably a full minute or more, which seems long on an elevator), we were delighted to find out the room was a pretty large suite. It had a whole kitchen, decent sized living space, HUGE king size bed, and fairly large flat screen television, more than what we needed for 2 people.
The room was pretty clean, although whoever made the bed didn’t do a really good job, it looked messy and the fitted sheet wasn’t on one side very well. Minor inconvenience, but whatever. The window was also wide open so it was freezing when we entered the room. But hey, for that price I had a really nice sleep and enjoyed the spaciousness of the room, for that I’d give this place 4 stars.
I decided I liked this place enough to book it for a second night. However I was woken up by a pounding at the door and a very unfriendly man telling me its checkout time, 7 minutes after 11 O’clock. Confused because I booked another night and didn’t want to check out, I told him to give me a second. He refused, saying hes not leaving until I leave. I insisted that I’m uncomfortable with him there while I was getting packed and changed and he grunted and walked out. I then realized that because of my tendancy to be an idiot after a few drinks, I didn’t hit «book» so I was supposed to check out in his defense. However, is that ANY way to treat a guest 7 MINUTES after check out time? Give me a break. Also after I left the room, I realized I left my debit card on the desk. I asked the cleaning lady if she could give it to me and she was really rude about it and told me I’d have to go to the front desk and have them come up and unlock the room she was about to go into (?).
So, if it wasn’t for the rude cleaning lady and the checkout nazi I would give this place a 4 stars.

I will echo the above reviews in saying the furnishings are cheap, the smell of cigarettes permeates everything and the only ‘nice’ room feature was an LG 30″ flat screen.
This actually isn’t my reason for giving 1 star. My complaint is with the management. I had booked the hotel a month previous because they advertised meeting spaces. l was in town to train an employee and simply needed a small meeting room for four hours. I tried to contact their sales manager FOUR separate occasions, leaving both voice mail and contacts with desk staff and was never replied to. When I arrive at the hotel there was still no one able to help me at check in and I discovered with a sinking feeling that ALL meeting spaces were booked by a high school drama Improv contest. The staff were friendly and apologetic but all it would have taken was one returned phone call letting me know nothing was available for me to make other arrangements.
I will not be staying here again.

I wasn’t expecting anything magical, but there are a couple of things in which they could have put more effort. We stayed for five days and the garbage bins in our room didn’t get changed a single time, which probably peeved me the most. They clearly state that guests staying for 4 – 6 days get their room «refreshed» once, «refreshed» meaning they make the bed and take out the trash, which never happened.
The bed was weirdly uncomfortable in a way that defies description. We both had trouble sleeping on it. Also, there was dime-​sized spot of something that honestly looking like dried snot stuck onto a corner of the bed sheet, which was pretty gross.
Getting towels and extra toilet paper was always annoying, as we had to go to the lobby each time, ask for it, and then wait to have it sent it up to our room. If they could just tidy up the rooms a little more often, this place would be so much more hospitable.
That being said, the Italian restaurant on the main floor has great pastas (don’t go there for breakfast, though). The service there was friendly and polished.
I would go here again if cost was an issue, but only then.

We need to insist on standards for companies that use certain words, like «deluxe» because this was nowhere close to what I understand that word to mean.
There was nothing «deluxe» about this hotel. Room furnishings were as plain, as basic, as any I’d ever seen. The kitchen smelled (they couldn’t air out the place from the last guest?), the attractive lobby renovation is overshadowed by the unrepaired water damage over the main entrance. The crib I asked for, 3 times, never showed up, so I went down to the maintenance room only to see they were in disgusting condition, and more.
Yikes. Please change your name to «Extended Stay Basic» — at least you’ll be telling the truth.

cheap furnishings but spacious and comfortable (upgraded to a king suite). Within walking distance of a great many things. The kitchen is short a few items that would make it fully usable (baking sheets and the like). All in all this place has been a pleasant experience, and for the money, something of a bargain.

Normal. Nothing too fantastic or too bad either. Nice and clean. Internet = a frustrating endeavor.
I spent a week here for an national improv competition; all the different teams did. We all were grateful that there was a hotel that put up with all of us. This being said we did get a noise complaint or two. To be fair we were kinda loud…

This is a nice four-​star hotel nestled in a quiet area just outside downtown Ottawa. The place itself was great; all of the amenities, a kitchen, two HD tv’s, a workout facility and a very clean layout. What made the experience a 3 as opposed to a 4 or 5 was somewhat bad service.
Firstly, for a place as nice as this, it is now customary to expect free wireless internet service. I’ve been to 2 and 3-​star hotels that have this feature. However, we learned that it would cost $ 5 to obtain wireless access. No big deal, I said.
However the connection didn’t go through; so after a few calls the front-​desk referred us to some toll-​free line where we were put on the phone with a technical support agent. Finally, about 45 minutes later, we got it! But then we lost the connection. Then got it back again. Through this, the front desk lady was not overly helpful nor pleasant.
This made an otherwise pleasurable experience quite average. This might have just been an exception, and perhaps others won’t have this problem or even care for a free wireless connection. But I felt this needs to be known regardless!
