Small and cozy place! Highly recommend making a reservation ahead if time if dining in on weekends. We decided to do a walk in and luckily squeezed ourselves in for 2 on a very busy Saturday night! After exploring the various realms of Italian foods, I decided to be less adventurous and stick with the stuff I knew would be a hit. Between the two of us, we had the bruchetta, roasted red pepper soup(special of the day), gnocchi and a seafood linguine(also special of the day). Food and service was great considering how busy it was. However my order came out missing some ingredients — paid for additional seafood as it was a special, but only got half of what was listed on the menu. No biggie, the waitress too care of it and gave us a complimentary dessert on the house. Love the no fuss customer treatment. To me, how a restaurant deals with customer complaints is key to customer retention. Food wise, the pasta was great. Really creamy sauce — definitely a hearty portion(gluten free pasta option also available). The gnocchi was OK. Having tasted what could only be described as «melt in your mouth drops of heaven» in Halifax — best gnocchi ever — this was much denser and a bit chewier in comparison. Will come back to try their patio when the weather gets warmer!

There has been a change in the décor to very black and silver. The Italian look has gone. BUT the menu and food remain outstanding and the service attentive, informed and happy. Recommend the rack of lamb, but skip lunch that day as they are generous with the lamb. The lobster ravioli were a special of the day and were superb. The house red was above the standard. The food is the reason for a visit and you can always eat in the patio outside if the weather allows.

I remember when Caffe Mio just opened and it was mostly just coffees and desserts. It’s come a long way from those days to include a patio and a full menu. Located in the heart of Wellington Village, this intimate spot is a great date night.

Went in as a party of 2 with a $ 40.00 living social coupon that was about to expire the next day. Unfortunately they are closed Sunday’s, so we booked Saturday night for 9:30pm. Heads up if you ever purchase a groupon or living social coupon for this restaurant: 1. They will not take your coupon if you do not make reservations, which means, no walk in couponers. 2. Alcoholic beverages are not included. 3. Double check to make sure before hand with the waiter, that the items you ordered are redeemable for this coupon. You just never know… 4. The amount on your bill must be over the value of your coupon, not less. Their computer system does not give credit notes/cash back if your final bill is less than the amount on your coupon. 5. Eat in only, no take out. On to the food. We ordered 1 appetizer; garlic cheese bread, 2 entrees; italiano flat bread pizza and a pasta dish, a pepsi as well as an espresso. Portion sizes were more than enough. Pizza was about the size of a medium pizza; 6 slices. It was alright, but better the next day cold; for some reason it was more flavorful. The pasta was alright, but had better. The garlic cheese bread was delicious; you get four pieces. Great thing is that they are not stingy on the cheese. Total bill came to $ 46.00. The service was good. Food came out fast, possibly because we were the last patrons ordering from the kitchen. Place is quaint. Typical Westboro restaurant. Great prices, between $ 12 – 20 per person. Large portions. Elegant, but relaxed. Did not enjoy the television in the restaurant. I found that it was an unneeded distraction, and lowered the brand and feel of the restaurant. Would I go back again? Maybe.

While I haven’t been here for awhile, I have had really good experiences here both for lunch and dinner. It’s a cozy restaurant, but in the summer it expands as they have a patio outside facing Wellington. The food is simple, nicely presented and uses lovely fresh ingredients. Creative soups and salads, delicious sandwiches and pastas, ample servings, decent wine list and all quite reasonably priced. Nice staff too!

Caffe Mio turned into a perfect late evening retreat for some hot drinks, nice conversation and a scrumptious dessert. The dish we settled on was the maple nut crème brûlée and I have no regrets. The interior of Caffe Mio is tastefully decorated and quite intimate. The server was quick to greet us and get us set up with some hot beverages. I joked that my cappuccino was topped with more foam than the bubble baths I had as a kid — but it tasted much better. Our dessert arrived and was shared but I easily could have eaten the entire crème brûlée to myself. It was very good. I’m not a big dessert person and will actually settle for a slab or vanilla ice cream over anything fancy like what we ordered. Heck, even a tub of no name ice cream will do. But I have to admit that Caffe Mio can do good desserts. Two specialty hot drinks and a decent size dessert came to under $ 15. I’d go back in the future and next time probably for more than just their dessert.
