As friendly as the owner(I am assuming he was owner based) was, this was one of the worst shawarmas I’ve had in Ottawa. And believe me, I’ve had about 90% of them. The amount of chicken put in my large sandwich was literally counted by the employee. When they put garlic on my potatoes, I was truly disappointed by the tiny amount he put. That quickly changed when I tried the garlic and boy was it not good. They’re lucky they have a great location but smarter people will make the walk down the road.

PLEASE do NOT go to this place. They serve NOT fresh food. I went there as I got fooled thinking this restaurant was another location of the BASHA from Montréal. I ordered a chicken dinner plate, the food was cold and old. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and nice. But food SUCKS. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This place is a hidden gem and has grown in popularity in the past year(I go fairly regularly). First of all, all of the staff are fantastic — they even remember my order which is awesome. Their food is awesome, though I do prefer the chicken to the beef which is sort of sweet and not as good. Donair is amazing. The poutines have become a late-night gave also. Only downside, somewhat expensive, especially for a student area and though there are many combos available, I can rarely find one that I find economical for what I want. Tip: small sandwiches are usually plenty — they pack tons of meat in!

Great chicken and beef shawerma, average prices compared to other places in ottawa and their Shawerma poutine is amazing, get the small size cause the large is too big. I would have given them 5 stars but the service is kinda slow sometimes

J’ai habité à Ottawa plusieurs années. J’habitais à quelques pas de ce restaurant. Il m’a souvent dépanné lorsque je revenais fatiguée. Pas trop coûteux, délicieux, excellent service, rapide.

Been here 2x in a week, really liking this place. I’ve tried both the chicken and the beef shawarma now, and both are delicious with a generous amount of meat in both. And the poutine is amazing!!! I’ve only tried the standard poutine, but plan to try the shawarma poutine and the Montréal smoked poutine too very soon(but not simultaneously, I’m not a glutton… for the most part). Both times I’ve been here, I got the food to go, and the genius gentleman behind the counter put the poutine in a tin tray with a plastic cover, resulting in the heat from the gravy melting the cheese. Brilliant! I also intend to try the potatoes and rice too, given how much I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried thus far. I also found the interior of the restaurant very appealing for such a small space. I was very impressed with everything overall considering I went in on a whim whilst walking down Laurier. Highly recommend

Excellent Shawarma and sides. The couple of guys that work there are friendly, the place is clean, service is quick. Downsides: A bit pricey, the combo offerings are lame(i cant sub a poutine in for fries and pay extra, I have to buy them separately), The fries and gravy suck. Fries are underdone, and the gravy is watery. Go to Shawarma byte for Poutine.
