The most I can say about Kotsy’s is that it’s just okay. The prices are average, but the food is just okay, the wait staff are fairly boring/characterless who usually don’t smile, and the woman who I believe is the owner there always seems like she is judging everyone she looks at. The restaurant itself also feels like it’s a little too dim to welcome a cheery atmosphere, and is often far too cold with fans blowing directly onto customers and their tables. The one good thing I can say about this place is that their pancakes are quite good. However, everything else is either just average or sub-par. I would recommend people to go elsewhere. This restaurant used to be good years ago, but it seems to have fallen from grace.

I really wanted to like this place. Close to home, and the promise of an all-day breakfast prevented me from making the brutal drive to Pickering for a crêpe or fruit plate at Cora’s. I ordered the strawberry crêpe and was mixed: the presentation was lovely. They took some effort to do a design with the cinnamon and sugar, and the plate looked nice. But it went downhill from there. The strawberries were canned, and the super-sweet American styled high-fructose kind of sweet. It was really tough to eat, and I didn’t even finish it. The crêpe, though, was flavourful and cooked perfectly, underneath the pound of ‘jam’. My wife had the special with pancakes(«Super?») and it seemed kinda small. The bill came to just under $ 20 for the two of us, which didn’t strike me as a tremendous value.

Great place for breakfast! Small local place with great breakfast that beats rivals like Denny’s. Service is fast and friendly. Big portions, cheap prices.
