great authentic Italian bakery! Family owned and operated, their pride shows in the cleanliness, friendliness, quality. I go often for lunch, great hot table in the back for fast healthy choices. Tip; try to get a young lady to help you! a couple of the old-ladies who work in there are a bit grumpy/impolite. Followed up lunch with a fresh made Cannoli and coffee.

My God this place is so good — and I am totally addicted to it. Let’s face it — carbs … sweet things … luscious breads/buns … and delicate and exquisite pastries — with a smooth double espresso — delizioso. Nice way to start a Saturday morning and weekend. Kind of sets the mood. The bread/buns are all good. Pastry-wise, I tried the chocolate cream shells(OMG) … the pasteis de nata(custard tarts) and of course the cannoli with ricotta … sublime.

I work just up the street and go to the Rustic Bakery every once in a while, I go for lunch. The food is good, not the same as Nona’s but its comparable! Depending on what you get, they can be a little over priced for lunch. The cakes and pastries are delicious and not overly expensive. I really like to buy my pastries from here, they are worth the money. I haven’t sat down to have an espresso but we do take them out sometimes for our office, they are good. The service is also good, they are fast and polite. All in all, in this area its probably the best Italian Bakery.

Old-school Italian bakery with a nice hot table option. Veal and chicken are both pretty good, the bread is always super fresh, but what really puts them on the map is the porchetta sandwich. Make sure to ask for extra skin, its crispy and full of flavour. They make a pretty good espresso too, not a bad place to watch the soccer game and have a sandwich.

They make the best vanilla cakes! I ordered a cake years ago for my birthday and remember saying that it was the best cake i had ever tasted. My sisters baby shower was this year and I offered to buy the cake. I immediately thought Vanilla and Ristic Bakery. Its to die for!!!

The worst customer service I have ever encountered in my life. I know Italians are known to yell but it’s not necessary to add attitude to the yelling. I called inquiring about Sfoglia cakes. I asked what sizes they come in she said«10 people & up.» I asked, «up to how many?» She said«WHAT?!» I asked again«10 servings up to how many?» She said«WHAT?!» I again asked, «the smallest size is 10 servings and how large can you go?» She said, «ASLARGEASYOUNEEDIT, WECANMAKEASMANYCAKESASYOUWANT!» Ok… I asked which flavours they come in she said«ALLFLAVOURS!» I asked again what those flavours were & again she said«ALLFLAVOURS!» I said, I have never had a Sfoglia cake before so can you tell me what the flavours are?! She mumbled them under her breath… Lol it made me laugh. She entertained my morning. If you’re looking for a Sfoglia cake go to rustic, they have all sizes and flavours. Enjoy!

My parents live in the area. I have loved this bakery from the first day I have walked into it. The staff is always and I mean even if they are busy always been courteous and warm with me. I live in Barrie, ON and I will drive down to Rustic Bakery for a cannoli or for their nocciola cake… my all time favourite. They made our daughters wedding cake and it was perfect. The food is always fresh. Overall I have never been disappointed with this bakery. Offers everything Italian I need under one roof.

This may be a 5 minute walk down the street from my boyfriend’s place and its tucked away in the neighbourhood within a small plaza. They conveniently offer fresh bread and any staple food(milk, eggs, etc) that you may require and pastries to die for… I’ve had a slice of red velvet cake on the occasion and saw a difference one time that it was most delicious but didn’t look like the usual one they offer(might’ve been bought at a supermarket, who knows?) but I found the owner/manager/whatever on the phone one time when I was at the cash to be a little rude and wasn’t paying attention to my debit purchase in which he punched in wrong. I would expect better attitude from management but oh well. Other than that its a nice clean little place that I don’t mind visiting again.

I live down the street from Rustic bakery & I can’t be happier that it takes me less than 5 minutes to walk there. Bread is fantastic & all the pastries are delicious. Lattes & espressos are good too… Couldn’t ask for a better bakery.

I really, really like Rustic Bakery. In fact, I wish that it was franchised and that another location would open closer to my home. I was in the area the other day and my companions were jonesing coffee after a very long workshop. Their café beats Starbucks, Lettieri, or Second Cup … the price is so reasonable and the service is excellent. For one double espresso, two lattes, and four cannolis I paid under $ 10. If I were at Starbucks, my total would be four times that amount. Woohoo! As good as it gets!

I am a first generation Italian and my parents were caterers. I have a good sense of what is good and not. this place has an awesome hot table, a diverse selection of italian breads, awesome, i mean awesome pasteries(authentic) and cakes, by this i mean the closest i have taste that compares to Italy. try it out, its not on a main street but is easy to find especially in todays society… btw…go early on weekends before 10 am or all the breads and good stuff will be gone…
