Recently been going to a few Thrift stores here and there to look for a few certain items that I’m currently looking for or at least is interested in buying, hoping that a few people that had donated. I used to come here on rare occasions when I was younger, but recently I decided to come for a visit either on my own a few times or recently with a friend of mine. They have a lot of used DVD’s and CD’s that was interesting to look at, but the ones that I had my eyes on was the used games they had in stock. While they did have a few random games like Sims or other PC games, which they seem to be getting a lot of, but they did have a few console games(mostly for the Xbox 360 and PS2). They also seem to get a dozen or so DVD players or something like that. Besides the games and electronic stuffs, majority of the items they seem to have a full stock on were the clothes. They also have a few home accessories that you might need, like coffee pots, pots and pans and such, but they’re usually heavily used, hence why the ones I saw were parked down to $ 0.99 to $ 2.99 or something. Their employees seem to be friendly whenever I’m there. Lastly, the only problem I sort of have with this place is that the CD/DVD section, which is located in the back, is a bit too cramped if you ask me, and you can easily trap yourself in the back area and having to wait for people to finish looking around there in order for you to not bump shoulders with everyone in order to get out of that part of the store. Well that, and the other thing is that I can’t believe that they decided to put delicate cups and lamps literally right beside there. I’m sorry but if people aren’t careful, they’re literally asking to have those things broken. Bottom line, this place is a pretty decent location to visit for some items. Managed to swipe a PS2 console in a very good condition for only $ 34.99 + tax.

I am a residence of New York and I occasionally donate to this store when I am in Vancouver. I only have one comment for one of the employees at this store: Racism should not be tolerated with ease under any circumstances! This should not be the kind of behaviour that is demonstrated by Salvation Army people across Canada! Only because I am not caucasian, doesn’t mean this male employee can treat me with so much anger and disrespect.

I have a bone to pick with the Salvation Army Thrift Stores. I shop there a lot… * A LOT * Some of the things I buy are for personal use, some I use in my small business, and others I may resell if there happens to be a market for said item. The nagging issue is one of their 50% discounts they hold on various items from time to time. The resulting sale then becomes FINAL and returns are not permitted. For most shops I can understand their position; they are selling a new and working item at a substantial discount and they do not want to see this item again. I get it! However, we are talking about a thrift store here. The majority of items have been donated(read, the donor considers these items to be garbage) and many times the electronic items DONOTWORK. I have spent many hours returning electronic items which did not work only to be provided with an immediate exchange of any similarly priced item. You have to exchange the broken item on the spot, no refund is provided. I tolerate the inconvenience as I do occasionally get a great deal. So here is my beef; It is not acceptable for for any store to place a FINALSALE on any item which has a good possibility of not working. It is garbage and Buyer Beware. The 3 day exchange policy must apply. Sincerely, Avid Shopper
