Located at the top of Grouse Mountain. Such a great treat after completing the strenuous Grouse Grind! Though there are definitely easier ways to get it. But if you should find yourself at Grouse Mountain and haven’t yet had a beavertail, this is a must. It’s not located with the other eateries. It’s a small stand-alone cabin a short walk away. You order/pay/pick-up at the window. Beavertails are like flatbread donuts with different toppings. This location has nine varieties. I chose the No 1. CINNAMON&SUGAR. It came out hot, crunchy on the outside and a bit soft on the inside, with a generous amount of cinnamon sugar. You can also make it a combo and save $ 0.50 on a HOTCHOCOLATE or $ 1 on a Frapp-eh.

I’ve been looking forward to this even before arriving Vancouver. I told myself, the only time I’ll have it is after Grouse Grind. Took us 1 hour and 10 mins to climb m up then two hours of zip lining, we treated ourselves to this wonderful fried pastry. Ordered one cinnamon sugar and the other was Nutella w bananas. Shared two among the 3 of us, which was just enough. It’s a bit too sweet.

Not bad. Tried their beaver tails a handful of times now, usually at the Christmas markets, whenever I make a sub 0:43 grind time or more recently at the Carnival del sol weekend in Vancouver. It’s pretty yummy and it comes hot. We tried the chocolate spread and banana one. The goodness of the warm cinnamon sugar crunch is so good. At this recent Carnival, it had a big bubble on the bottom that spanned half the tail, thus hindering its full beaver tail potential. Overall not a bad snacky.

The original Beaver Tail… I see them every year at the PNE and at some major festivals around town. I love the garlic & butter tail and of course the traditional cinnamon and sugar. The simple things never get old for me. A little on the pricey side but you’re celebrating a novelty which is priceless.

Had Beavertails for the first time at the Vancouver Christmas Festival last night. My daughter and I shared the simple cinnamon one and it was so good! It was light and one was perfect for the two of us. Must gave another soon!

After the Grouse Grind, I was really looking forward to my first Beavertail in over 5 years. I asked Guest Services if the location was still there and open and I was delighted to hear that it was. When I got to the location though, it was shut tight with no signs anywhere. I checked back two more times and no dice… Beavertails, I love you, but if you’re not going to be open during regular business hours, please give some info to your customers.

a must-go whenever you go to Lonsdale Quay. and a heckuva a lot cheaper than up in Whistler, where tourists always overpay lol

I actually visited the Beavertail food truck that was vending at the Rockin River festival in mission this weekend. I have to say that it was seriously so delicious. If you have never had a Beavertail, PLEASE get up and get one. They are so delicious. This vendor has such a good selection as well. Definitely worth the price. The pricing is a little high but rightfully so I guess for such a masterpiece. They also serve poutine. Let me tell you, they do not cheap out on poutine. They don’t give you the poutine on top/fries on bottom thing. They load up the gravy and the cheese. Seriously to die for. It weighs like 5 pounds in your hand. Anyway, check these guys out if you see their food truck or on top grouse mountain. Absolutely worth the trip. Four stars because of me being cheap and I’m not very happy about spending $ 14 on poutine and a Beavertail.

After taking a tram up Grouse Mountain, we were greeted by the delicious scents of beavertails! They had just ran out of the apple cinnamon variety, but we ordered a chocolate version with Reese’s Pieces. Totally delish!

Nice snack while venturing on Grouse Mt. They have both savory and sweet beaver tails to choose from. Don’t let the name fool you, it’s not really beaver tails. It’s a rolled out pastry they fry and top with different things you want. I liked the Nutella and banana beaver tail, a little messy, but what’s Nutella if you can’t lick it off your fingers?!! :)

Oooh, what is that sighting at the top of the Grouse Mountain? Am I delirious from the climb and hallucinating? I walk closer, and my eyes aren’t deceiving me… it’s a Beavertails hut! I LOVE Beavertails! Brings back happy memories of skating on the Rideau Canal in Ottawa during Winterlude. Honestly, I don’t know how anyone could not like them — a zillion times better than any«elephant ears» version, the Beavertail is a perfect deep fried dough pastry that’s light, fluffy and covered with powdered cinnamon and sugar. You can order fancier versions of them with nutella, Reese pieces, etc… but trust me, you’ll want the original or their«Killaloe Sunrise». The Killaloe is my favorite — it’s the original served with lemon that you squeeze onto it… it’s so good, that I’m tempted to do the Grind again just so I can have another :) FYI — cash only. The basic one here starts at $ 4.25.
