HI-Niagara Falls Hostel

I was thoroughly impressed with this hostel. I was on a quick overnight adventure from Toronto as I had only been to the falls once and that was in the dead of winter. I booked a private room for one ($ 42 for HI members, $ 47 for non-​members). Linda who checked me in was very friendly and makes for good conversation. My bus arrived ahead of schedule so I stopped by to see if I could drop my bags before walking into town and they were nice enough to check me in early. The room was quite big for a hostel room and had temperature control, a desk, bed, lap, and closet. There was a TV hanging on the wall but I wasn’t there long enough to look into that. Everything was very clean, both in the room and the common areas. Breakfast was served in the morning (until 11 AM, which I would appreciate at other hostels, sometimes I do sleep in). It is basic, but free. There was bread for toast, cereal, and hot beverages. The wifi was free and seemed to work with strong signal throughout the building. On the day of my check out I didn’t leave until the evening and they were kind enough to lock up my baggage for me so I didn’t need to carry it all over the city. One caution, if you stay out late the after-​hours entrance is not the same one as the check-​in entrance. Ask for clarification. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

Conveniently located roght next to train and bus station, but rather far away from anything else. 30min walk to downtown/​Niagara falls.
Fast wifi. Clean rooms, but might use some renovating. Breakfast included. A bit shady neighborhood.

The hotel is quite far away from the city and the fslls. No bus service in winter after 5pm so I had to walk back while we had –10ºC. Cleaness is ok for a hostel only the bathroom was questionable.

can’t review the living conditions at this hostel as we only came here to pick up our rental bikes but in overall this place looks super hipstery cute=)
colorful façade walls with chipping paint. patio with a hammock and lawn chairs. basement with pool table, drums, ping pong table. super friendly staff and of course bike rental.
they have big amount of bikes available. all of them Giant Hybrid bikes with a pretty light frame (I could easily pick up one with one hand) and lots of helmets to choose from. the locks are flimsy and I was a bit paranoid to leave the bikes locked with only these locks. so I would bring my own. also no lights (reflectors are there) so in case you’re riding in dark hours you might want to bring lights too.
no rack or baskets so a backpack is a good idea too.
they charge your $ 200 per bike as a secure deposit and then refund you once the bike is back. for some reason they couldn’t figure out how to just lock the amount. but it works.
otherwise pretty regular $ 30/​bike for a full day and $ 25 if you are actually sleeping in the hostel.
Oh and it’s just 2min walking distance from the bus/​GO train stop! and 2min cycling distance from cool Queen street district (ask the staff how to get there — way cooler area than the falls themselves=))
p. s. confirmed with the staff — there are ACs in the rooms=) vs some other hostels in the area that don’t have this on their list.

Off the beaten path location. Plenty of parking. Tons of community spaces — and people using them! Social guests & staff. Free beer. Breakfast is ok, nothing to write home about. Modest accomodations/​slightly older joint, but well kept & clean.

Had great fun staying here. Everything was clean, staff was really helpful and overall there was a great atmosphere.
