Days Inn & Suites By the Falls

Other than feeling nickle and dimed «just a bit…» (Our «free» parking was $ 10/​day and our «included» breakfast was $ 7.95) this wasn’t a bad place to stay at all. It is what it is here in the tourist mecca that is Niagara Falls, and you DO most certainly have to pay to play!
NF is one place you’re (probably) going to want to be «in the middle of everything,» or at least close to it, and you don’t want to spend a fortune for your hotel room (unless you’re some sort of CRAZY honeymoon couple, wink wink!!) because you’ll be «out and about» exploring all the natural (and not so natural!!) wonders there are to offer here… Days Inn was a perfect choice for us, close but not too close to gloriously tacky/​über touristy Clifton Hill, and just a short walk to the awesome Falls! Perfectly acceptable room; we upped the ante to a king sized bed and Jacuzzi suite, and were happy as can be. Room included the standard fridge and microwave, TINY shower, standard local/​cable offerings on TV, and a view of the street/​parking lot. We never got around to using the indoor pool, which seemed nice as well. Helpful, courteous front desk, and our room was always cleaned and fully stocked with the essentials.
There are a million and one budget to super high end hotel options here on the Canadian side (as well as the NY side, but I’d choose Canada again in a heart-​beat for the awesome views…) Everyone here on Unilocal and other review sites seems to have MASSIVE issues with just about every popular and less popular choice. I’m sure some of these (whiney/​spoiled) complaints might be valid, but truly, we either got lucky, have pretty reasonable expectations, or realize that having champagne tastes on a PBR budget is pretty unrealistic!!!

We had such a bad luck, the fire alarm was defective and by 2:30 am it has gone off 5 times. It’s been a nightmare, no sleep and our children super nervous

Always my go-​to hotel for the past 5 years. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the rooms are always clean and well stocked. The TV channel situation takes some getting used to, but when you go to Niagara Falls, the TV isnt really a staple of the trip. This place is also close enough to the action that you can pretty much walk to all the major attactions. Love this place.

We stayed here for two nights. Is it a glamorous 5-​star hotel overlooking niagara falls? No. However, if you want a decent, inexpensive hotel right near all the attractions… this place is for you! We stayed here for 2 nights — and really, we only stayed here to sleep because we were out sight-​seeing all day. The hotel is located literally within 2 blocks from «fun street», so my kids were in heaven. And beyond that – a very quick walk to the Falls.
The Rooms weren’t huge and modern, but they were clean. There’s no in-​room safe, but for $ 10, the front desk will supply you with a safety box. They have decent wifi too. (note: when we checked into our room, the bedskirt and mattress looked like it had blood on it… we called the front desk and they sent up a manager… she changed our room immediately and said the stain just looked like hot-cocoa…not sure about that, but our next room was just fine).
The hotel has a small gym as well as an indoor pool and hot tub as well. My kids took advantage of the pool… but beware, the chlorine smell will burn your nose hairs!
I’d skip the buffet breakfast… not a great selection… there are plenty of places to grab breakfast out on the street.
Also, there is a bar across the street that was playing super loud music all night and you could hear it in your room… we had the tv on, so it wasn’t too bad… but if you want a good nights sleep with peace and quiet… get a room NOT facing the main street.
All in all, I’d stay here again… for the price and location — you can’t beat it!

Right in the heart of all the touristy spots. Very nice staff and friendly. We had a heart shaped jacuzzi tub in our spacious room. The bed was comfortable, but not plush. Linens were actually pretty soft. The room itself was very clean.
The negatives for us was the super small bathroom which contained just the toilet. It was claustrophobic, and no vent fan even though there appears to be a vent in the ceiling. Just no way to turn it on!
Wifi was spotty at best due to layout of the room as I know for a fact the router was less than five feet from the outside of my door. Just too much metal and concrete in the way to get a strong signal in the bed. If I stood by the door I got full signal. So that was annoying while using my smartphone to look for places to eat, maps, etc.
The price can’t be beat for being in the middle of everything, but it does lack amenities of finer chains. No fridge, or microwave in the room, and street noise was sometimes evident from loud patrons across the street at hooters.
Morning breakfast consisted of donuts, boxes of cereal, tiny yogurts of a brand I’ve never heard of, and slices of bread for toast. No eggs or waffles, etc. they had juice machine and coffee as well.
This hotel gets a lot of tour bus visitors so they all seem to come out at once. My meaning is the breakfast area was so packed that we decided to go to the crazy overpriced Denny’s next door. ($ 15 for 2 eggs bacon and coffee).
This is a budget oriented hotel. If you seek a clean place to be your base of operations on the cheap, this is it. If you want something a little off the beaten path, I’d check out the numerous B&B’s on river road overlooking the river.
Tip: if you have a handicap tag, they will not charge you for parking, but you must ask for it. That saves $ 10/​day.

Run far from this place! Stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and had the worst hotel experience! Front desk staff were incompetent, there was a frat party group staying on our floor who were drunk and VERY loud all hours of the night, the hotel had our phone in the room turned off so we were forced to use roaming, wifi only worked in one corner of room, was charged to park in their lot after never being told there was a fee! They offered to move us to a quieter room and when we agreed they said they actually didn’t have another room available. Very poor customer service. We will not be returning.

A very nice hotel. I just wish that it was along the water falls! Get rid if the zillion wax museums, and there would be space.

I stopped by here for a two night stay with my wife over this last Martin Luther King weekend. We arrived somewhat late to the hotel on a Friday night after a long drive up. Thankfully check-​in was pretty simple and we were off to our room within a reasonable amount of time. Our room ended up being clean and satisfactory and included a refrigerator which we put to use. The bed was also comfortable and provided two good nights of sleep. During our stay here my wife twice used the gym and had nothing to complain about. My only complaint during the whole stay would have to be some loud noises in the hall late at night which woke me up but I can hardly claim that to be the hotels fault.
The bottom line for me is that I would stay here again in the future. This hotel had a good location in Niagara Falls and while it wasn’t amazing, it certainly got the job done especially for the price that we paid.

Stayed here for 2 days with the family. We did not use the pool. Fitness room was better than motels of similar caliber, had a universal, a few dumbells, spinning type bike and treadmill. Better than nothing. Seems they used to have breakfast but now they rent the space to someone else that sells food. Parking $ 5 per day. Room itself was very nice. Fridge, microwave, good TV, comfy clean beds. Overall not a Hilton but not a dive, and close to entertainment but not too close.

A medium to good deal. Our room was clean and what we expected for a Days Inn. Like the other reviewers, it was noisy (files with several kid’s hockey teams running through the halls). The management did what they could, isolating them to one floor and putting us at the end of a hallway. Fairly convenient to attractions, $ 5.00 parking (cheap compared to the rest of Canadian Niagara Falls ($ 15.00 for one time in and out). The hot tub was gross, but there was no using the pool with the 10 million kids anyway. The fitness room was subpar.
3 stars simply because it was no more and no less than we expected. We would stay there again.

It’s pretty simple, really. It’s really good given what you pay, assuming you get a good rate.
The rooms are clean and comfortable, the location is convenient for walking to the falls, the view towers, and eating establishments, and the staff is helpful.
If you don’t feel like staying at one of the high-​end hotel towers, or don’t want to spend that kind of money, this is a great alternative. Also, a Niagara Falls, Canada location trumps a Niagara Falls, NY location. It’s a nice, quaint town and, in real life and up close, Niagara Falls are very impressive.

This hotel was great for the price. This hotel was not a Hilton by any means. But this hotel was great for a place to stay for the sites. It was close to all attractions in the area. This was great because you have to pay for parking at all attractions and you can walk to all attractions from this locations.

Value wise you CAN do better.
Booked a room for four people for one night.
The BAD:
We were provided 1 little shampoo, 3 towels and 2 coffee cups for four people. It’s these details that matter a lot and set you apart (in the good way OR the bad way) in the hotel industry.
Rude manager at check in that initially would not allow us to take our bicycles into the room with us, stating that somehow the bikes would cause damage to the room and carpet. They offered to let us put our bikes in some random room where we would not be able to lock the bikes to anything. The manager vehemently asserted that if ANY marks what soever were made on the carpets we would be responsible for paying for the cleaning of the carpets. FINE. We get to the room and the carpet is the darkest of navy blues with a black squiggly pattern all over it — making it impossible to detect any ‘bike marks”.
Continental breakfast just meh. Bread, bagels, fruit loops, raisin bran and some small cinnamon bun“ish” thing that I would not dare try, and same went for the miniature blueberry muffin. Extremely small juice and coffee cups provided, seems like they really don’t want to you drink the juice or coffee. Strange.
Upon entering the room we found it was freezing cold. The temperature was ACTUALLY set to 10 degrees. As this is not an attainable temperature, the AC was blasting like crazy. Its strange… hotels always ask you to reuse your towels for the «environment» but then do silly things, like provide styrofoam coffee cups and run the AC non-​stop in a relentless effort to get your room down to 10 degrees. Makes me wonder if they actually care about the environment… or just don’t like washing my towels…
THE GOOD:
Large, clean rooms.
For the price I would not return, considering all the other options in the area.

We visited this weekend, and it was the only hotel with vacancy. It was late, we were tired from a long 9 hour drive, so had no choice. The bathroom needs renovation, especially the tub. They use cheap toilet paper and tissue. Definitely not our cup of tea.

Smack-​in-​the-​middle location of kitschy Clifton Hill for a decent price. The room was pretty spacious, the air conditioner was functioning, and the bed was bedbug-​free. The wi-​fi didn’t work at all, but that wasn’t really an issue for us.
So why the less-​than-​average rating?
A bunch of teenagers from Toronto were drunk and high all weekend, leaving the entire floor smelling like weed. After one of them left on a stretcher at 3am (a bad drug trip, I presume), I thought all the screaming, crying, and door slamming would stop, but no. It seemed like the front desk was going to resolve this issue after we finally couldn’t take anymore and had gone down to complain, but the noise continued until the sun came up.
Overall, the hotel itself was not so bad, but some of its guests? Ugh. Pack your ear plugs. And leave the kids at home.

Value wise this is the best bang for your buck. Our room consisted of a small living area with a pull out sofa bed, kitchenette, and a main bedroom with 2 queen sized beds. The rooms are air conditioned which is controlled by a thermostat. This location was within walking distance to the Clifton tourist area, The Water Park, the Falls, and both Fallsview Casino and Casino Niagara. It’s also close to nearby restaurants and familiar fast food places. A Pharma Plus and a No Frills are also located within a 5 min drive from the hotel.
Amenities include free parking, free WIFI internet, and continental breakfast. Don’t expect too much from the breakfast as it only includes, coffee, tea, danishes, apples, limited selection of cereal, instant oatmeal, and apple or orange juice.
Overall given what we paid per night, I ‘m quite satisfied with the hotel. The location wasn’t right down town with a spectacular view of the falls however it was still close enough that made it convenient. The only complaint would be that the pillows were soft and probably was so due to having not been replaced for a very, very long time. The bed was also in the same condition and the sofa bed was like sleeping on a crooked wooden bed lol. If I wanted to sleep in comfort and luxury I would have paid more to stay at the Hilton, or the Sheraton.

These two facts combined to lead us to give this hotel another chance. We swore up and down we’d never stay here again, but when we were looking for a great deal for Niagara Falls, this hotel offered the best deal. (Well, another Days Inn was cheaper, but reviewers said they had bedbugs…) We figured that since we were going up during the week, we might be able to get a better room instead of the super-​small room we got last time, and at the very least we figured that the money saved would allow us to do more fun activities. I also read that folks had gotten free upgrades when space was available, and I was hopeful that we’d get the same treatment. The last time we came up here was on a Friday night when rooms are a bit harder to find.
Initially, they said the upgrade from a king bedroom to a king suite would be $ 10 extra, but then when I told them in a remorseful voice that I had read that others on the Internet had received free upgrades and that I had hoped to receive the same type of treatment, the woman relented and gave us a king suite for no additional charge. Hurray! The best part about the king suite was that it was in the main part of the hotel, and it was nice and easy to find.
For the most part, our stay was fantastic. The continental breakfast was delicious as usual and the wireless Internet was very reliable. We enjoyed the indoor pool and the jacuzzi! For those of you looking to come up here, do your best to come off season and during the week – Niagara Falls and Clifton Hill really clear out at those times, and it’s nice to have the pool and jacuzzi to yourself!
Two small downsides:
–Our room smelled a wee bit bad when we entered, but once we got into the main part of the room the smell wasn’t noticeable. Strange!
–The setup of the suite made it a bit hard to watch the TV while in bed.
All in all, we had a great second stay at this location. We’d definitely stay here again! It’s within walking distance of Clifton Hill (which is especially nice now that Casino Niagara has eliminated free parking for Players’ Advantage Club members), but it’s far enough away so that you’ll be able to sleep at night.

Our first visit to Niagara Falls and we aren’t vacationers who like to sit in the hotel room and watch t.v. This hotel is a hop away from everything! You could walk, or you could drive, which we did both. The king sized bed, non-​smoking room was a great value for the price. Bathroom looked newly remodeled and overall very clean room. Wifi was fast when it worked, other times there was a lot of lag. Pool hours end at ten and there was a trick to turning on the hot tub, which we quickly figured out. The fitness room was okay but the cross-​trainer was not working. Continental breakfast was appropriate, and best of all, free. Even going at 9:30am when it finishes at 10, there was plenty of food available. If you are a light sleeper, request a room higher than the first floor — my cousin said people coming in and out and using the elevator disturbed her sleep. I didn’t hear a thing, except for the last night– we got in at 2am, and others were coming in, but decided to hang out in the hall way and try to continue the party. One call to the front desk and minutes later, all was silent! Our housekeeper also did an impeccable job in our room. One snafu: coming back at 2am meant all the parking spaces were full! After talking to the front desk, we were assured we could park in the «15 minute standing zone» overnight without any incident, which we did. That worked out just fine. Oh yea, and the cable went out at the hotel for about an hour, but it was of no consequence for us since we were swimming when it happened. Overall, great value for the money, great location, and would definitely stay here again.

You could do a lot worse than this hotel; it’s a good value. The location is great: right by Clifton Hill (but not too close) and within walking distance of Casino Niagara and the falls.
My only two (very minor) quibbles are that the continental breakfast can get crowded and the layout can be confusing.
