Northwest Academy of Performing Arts is an accredited dance school that has served New Westminster and Burnaby for the last 30 years. Our dancers have gone on to dance in some of the great dance companies in the world including The National Ballet of Canada, the Stuttgart Ballet and the Royal Winnipeg to name a few. Our philosophy is one of nurturing young minds to understand that we all have talents and aspirations and whether you want to dance professionally or just have fun NAPA is a place where you can explore the art of dance to your hearts content.

History

Established in 1974.

The Northwest Academy of Performing Arts was founded in 1974 as the Kirkwood Academy of Dance. Teaching primarily Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet. The school has trained dancers who have gone on to prestigious careers in dance as well as those who just had a passion for dance but pursued other careers. The school was take over in 2009 by Keitha Campeau who grew up through the ranks and who has taken special care to build upon the traditions and history of the school. It is now a leader in both dance training and musical theater and move to its new location on Columbia Street where the state of the art facility is located.

Business Owner

Keitha Campeau grew up in the arts. As a child studying Dance, Piano and Voice. A natural coloratura soprano Keitha studied classical singing and completed her ARCT in voice and a degree in Arts. Keitha is a mother of two and celebrates the arts through teaching and nurturing young artists.
