Excellent service, delicious food and a really short walk to the skytrain. They always have very good comedians and the staff are all super friendly and accommodating. Love this place, my favorite comedy club.

Great location, close to the sky train station. Easy to get to. Staff is friendly and the servers were pretty quick. We ordered some drinks and a side of fries. Food is ok… Nothing great, I wouldn’t plan on dinner there. Comedy is great! I can see it being a good venue for birthdays or Christmas parties. We had a really good time, we absolutely will be back.

Last weekend was my first time going there with my boyfriend. We were excited to hear some comedy. This place is a little retro and outdated but nice none the less. We sat there for about 15 minutes until a server finally came. Not only that I had to ask for a server. That part was really the only thing that was wrong with our night. Once we got our drinks we had Kalamari and the potatoe nachos … Both very good. The MC comic and the two comics before the main act came on we’re great! We laughed so hard. However the main comedian kind of sucked. We didn’t find him as funny as the other ones and we ended up leaving midway through his act. We will be back for sure though.

The wednesday night comedy was great — the comediens had lots of good jokes. The only problem is it seem very claustrophobic — the stage is in the corner and it is awkward to get to the washroom. Also the air is stale — the windows could be opened or management could invest in ionizers to improve the air quality. It seemed you have to look pretty to get served so I didn’t but I came for the laughs not for the service and laughs I got so I am thankful for the talented comediens and for the memories of laughter from the evenings experience.

Decent entertainment. Ok food. No tap water available, only bottled water. In today’s environmental times, why are they forcing their paying customers to buy bottled water? I was spending money, orderd ok food but was denied tap water. Today we are trying to be plastic conciencouse with reusable bags and such, and this establishment is adding to the plastic waste, forcing its customers to add to the landfills with bottled water. This should be illegal!

We didn’t have food, but we did have drinks and lots of laffs at this local spot. The venue isn’t the most beautiful, but it does seem clean and well organized. Great deal on the groupon — not sure what their regular pricing is, but if it’s around 20 bucks a person, I think it makes a decent night out!

I’ve been to 5 different comedy clubs now and Lafflines is still my favourite. The comedians are hilarious, including their MCs. I’ve probably been there twenty times now and will be back for more! Money well spent! I come away feeling lighter, happier, and energized. Even if you happen to get a dud comedian(I can only think of three times this has happened) it will be followed up with a good one. I’ve never been disappointed by their headliners. They obviously do a wonderful job choosing them. If you want a fun night out with friends, or to do something besides the standard dinner & a movie on date night, go here!

Always a good laugh. Not much in the way of décor but when the lights are low and you’re splitting your sides you don’t notice it. I would suggest eating before the show and not at the show but if you want to have some fun on the weekend without going to the bar then there is probably no better place to go in New West.

Ive been here several times and every time I have had a great time, if its amatures, pros, first timers, I have always got a good laugh and walked away satisfied knowing I have got my moneys worth(even that time I was the target of a routine, that’s okay though if you cant laugh at yourself you need to go to the sense of humour store and buy yourself one). I have also attended a few charity events here as well that went great, so if you have a cause keep it in mind. Only complaints about this place is the food leaves something to be desired but at the same time who goes to a comedy club looking for gourmet dining, and also there should be a security guard on call to remove that lady with the brain shattering laugh that haunts you for weeks to come(ya you know the one I’m talking about). I will be back and if you haven’t gone you should.

I got free tickets to a show in exchange for a horrible experience I had here previously which I will not get into since Lafflines is since under new management and they were nice enough to let me come for free and even follow up to see how my evening was. The new location is much bigger but it feels weird, it is not a comedy club type atmosphere, it is an outdated ballroom with a tiny stage in the corner. A stage which isn’t built properly because I could hear it squeaking every time the comedians moved and if you have ever paid attention to this you will notice comedians are always fidgeting their feet or pacing back and forth. On top of that distraction there was a death metal concert downstairs that also made it really hard to focus on what was going on on stage. We were seated, ordered drink then asked to move to the front not knowing they were transferring us into a different waitresses section and that they couldn’t transfer our bill so every order because a game of telephone tag between the waitresses. It took 20 minutes to get our first drinks and about 40 minutes to get the shots we tried to order after because we were not sitting in our waitresses section. Seriously, ask people if they have ordered drinks before you talk them into switching seats cause that was a bit of a piss off chasing down the waitress when I should be enjoying the show. She also charged us too much for the shots because they were on sale if you ordered 3 but she split the bill so 1 shot was on each bill making them not on special and full price! The comedians were great, the experience was not.

If you want to spend a night laughing — this is the place to go. I hadn’t been since they moved to their new home — It’s GREAT! We got their early and enjoyed some of the food they now serve. Hot wings were over sauced and just hot — lacked flavour. Kalamari was good and chicken strips are yummy. The drinks are yummy and consistent! I had 3 Long Island Iced Teas. The COMEDY rocks. I laughed the minute the MC got on stage to warm us up and the headliners never disappoint! If you’re in Vancouver — this is a night not to miss. Book ahead to get a good seat — it’s fun to be in the front row.

Beautiful theatre. Pretty funny comedians. Reasonably priced for what it is, especially if you have an entertainment coupon. Very full, make reservations ahead. They are good to accomodate large groups.

A decent comedy club close to the Columbia skytrain station, Lafflines is a good place to spend a Friday or Saturday night with a group of friends. However, be warned: reservations are an absolute MUST. This place gets packed, so don’t expect to be able to just show up and get a spot –especially if your group is more than four people. Reservations can be made over the phone, in person, or online. Online reservations require a credit card number, but they won’t actually charge the card at that time(you can pay by debit or cash when you show up, if you prefer). Trust me, this is useful information that I’ve learned the hard way! As far as the performances go, I’ve seen some decent comedians here, but from what I’ve seen, Lafflines doesn’t seem to attract the same calibre of comedians as, say, the Comedy Mix. Mind you, the very nature of stand-up comedy is that some nights are hilarious, and others are so-so –it’s really just the name of the game. Drinks are pricey(as they are in all comedy venues), so I’d recommend some light pre-drinking before arrival.

Lafflines hosted A Night of Fun and Fundraising for Women’s 16 Step Empowerment Support Group event last night. I went out as my friend was a performer and am really glad I did! For those of us that are carless, easy transit access is something to get pumped about. The club is a 1 minute walk from the Columbia skytrain station, just around the corner. The club has a great atmosphere and lots of comfy couch like seating. It seems to be a lot bigger than the Comedy Mix club on Burrard. Our waitress was super nice and the service was awesome. They have lots of cocktails on the menu and pretty reasonably priced drinks. I didn’t have a look at the food menu, but saw a couple tables with bar type appetizers. I would agree with the other reviews here that you should probably eat beforehand. The event I went to was a mixed bag of stand up comedy, spoken word and monologues so it wasn’t a typical evening there. I will definitely be going back for a regular comedy night though — it was so much fun!

Great place to go when you’re looking for something entertaining to do without resorting to movies, gambling, or drinking. Of course, you can drink here too. The jokes may become funnier when you drink! But it’s not the sole purpose of the evening. Go here for a good laugh! The price is good for what you get(I paid $ 8 because it was 2 for 1, but $ 16 is good too).

This comedy club is great fun. They get some really great comedians, everytime I have been I have actually laughed until my face hurt. Weekends are best, but pro-am night is also loads of fun. They don’t really serve food, so eat in advance. They have a lot of yummy cocktails to choose from while you walk to show. It’s a smaller club, more intimate, some comedians will really tease people sitting in front of the stage, so if you are shy sit towards the back. Hecklers usually get burned by the comedians which is always hilarious, and drunks are mocked. It’s a great place for a date night or just a night out with friends.
