Found the game I wanted at a really good price. Everyone was really friendly too

Customer service isn’t the best here but they have a GIANT collection of games! They’ve got stuff for the Atari, Commodore 64, Nintendo, Xbox, Playstation… the list goes on! My buddy decided he wanted to get into PS1 games the other day and lucky for him, he managed to get a used one with memory card, controller, and a game for $ 20! If for whatever reason you’re at Columbia station and have time to kill, definitely pay a visit!

I have only sold here but it was a pleasant experience.

The person that helped me was approachable and very knowledgable and quick.

I used to love this place and in the past would’ve given it 5 stars in a heartbeat. However in the past few months I’ve received some terrible customer service and outright rude comments from the new girl that works there. I’ve heard from a few friends of mine that fequented this place as well that I’m not the only person experiencing this from her. She seems annoyed whenever you try to ask a question or ask her to get a videogame from the case for you. Isn’t that her job? I’ve even tried to make conversation or joke with her but she rolls her eyes, speaks sharply, and doesn’t smile. Its gotten to the point where I won’t even enter the place if shes working and whereas I used to come weekly, I don’t know the last time I’ve gone. I miss the guys who used to be there 24 7, they were awesome, knowledgeable and funny! Come back and get rid of the new girl!

I’ve found some awesome, rare and obscure stuff here. They get in every kind of retro and current-​gen stuff, and their prices are cheaper than anywhere else in the GVRD.

I normally do a fair bit of buying and selling with these guys, and in the past little while they have shyed away from them buying your video games and other items off you. The last time I went in to sell something to them it was embaressing what they offered, I could gat 3x as much off Ebay or Craigslist.
Even now when they ask if you want cash or credit for in store, if you say cash you get this dirty look as if they really don’t want to hand you the cash. If it’s this much trouble for them to buy my used games, consoles, and accessories, then they should stop advertising and simply not bother anymore because they are nickel and diming people and most people won’t realize it, or cash in with them for a quick buck.

This place is everything you’d expect from a store named Game Deals. They have games and they offer good deals. I tried to buy my groceries here once but left with a copy of Gauntlet Legends 64. Great game but it made for a terrible lunch.

Knowledgable, helpful staff, will have a conversation if you start one, will leave you alone if you don’t. Great place to be a geek, and carries used games of all generations, ever. Great place to geek out, prices range from reasonable to cheap.

If you are a vintage video game geek — this place is a must.
Parking is available on the streets, but there are some free spots here and there.
I don’t know where to start — I overloaded the moment I stepped inside. This place could be a museum. Atari, ColecoVision, TurboGrafx-​16, NES, Sega CD. all the way to Wii and PS3. I was like a kid in a candy store. I honestly cannot think of another single establishment in town that has such a ridiculously complete collection. They even have Virtual Boys and a Nintendo ROB here! My buddy and I were grinning like idiots the whole time we were here.
Besides the machines, they also have accessories, including some of the limited edition items. Want a Mario Edition N64 controller? Check. How about a Nintendo Zapper? Check. They even sell CRT TVs for crying out loud. I swear there’s a golden halo on top of the store.
Their used games collection is also quite decent. If your parents refused to buy you that game as a kid, now’s your chance to catch up. Their inventory is all sorted by era, which makes browsing really easy. Obviously the top-​selling games will cost more, but there are plenty of good games in the bargain bins as well. I would love to spend a night here after hours.
Service is excellent — they offer a 7-​day exchange policy for all of the used goods, so you can be sure you won’t bring home a dud.

Awesome store for the retro gamer! Lots of selection with games from all era. They have cables for every system, and games to match. The good games go fast so you usually have to get there the day they post them on their Facebook page.
Would be nice if they had some kind of online system to check for games in stock, but its a great store to browse around!

Saw these guys at this year’s Retro Videogame Expo. They had some flyers kicking around, therefore, walked on over before the expo. If you’re like me and still have that old NES kicking around and your Game Boy etc… here is the place to go to get cartridges that are tested and work. If they don’t, they have no problem working with you to resolve the situation. Close to the skytrain makes this location accessible for anyone. The store is small, however, the selection doesn’t disappoint. If you’re hungry, they got you covered as well with unique soda pop and pop tart flavors. High in calories, guilt and sugar but energy for those long gaming nights. The guys at the til were super nice, patient and helpful. The prices are very fair.

I was looking to buy a few old games from previous generation of consoles that EB Games aren’t selling anymore and one of the employees had suggested that I go and visit this particular store and man, that was one of the greatest advice I had ever taken.
The employees is generally pretty friendly, the prices are fair (Not great, but fair) for the games, they do accept games and consoles and allow you to trade them in for credit or cash, and lastly they have a good amount of games in stock as they usually get quite a lot in from trade in’s.
They’re often stocked with hundreds of games, even some that isn’t particularly easy to find, like .Hack or others.
This store is literally stocked with games for old consoles like Atari, NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, PS1, PS2, N64, etc. And might even have a few rarer consoles as well on rare occasions. They do have new games for the more modern consoles like PS3, Xbox 360, PS Vita and Wii U. So as you can possibly imagine that the varieties are endless.
They sometimes have these events that allows many of their customers to have a get-​together and have a bit of fun during their off hours.
The only real problems I have is that this place is about an 80 minute travel with public transit or at least maybe 45 minutes by car + the amount of time to find parking for people who doesn’t live near by. The only benefits is that this place is very close to Columbia Skytrain Station, so it has that going for it.
Also, this place doesn’t do enough advertising and many of their customers are usually from word of mouth (Like me) OR those occasional people who just happen to stumble across this place from the outside OR the occasional mention in the newspaper.
Lastly, I kind of wish they have some other promotion that can be used year round for those who wants to come in here regularly and have a way for them to save even more money in the end, basically giving their customers another reason to wanna come back. The only promotion they currently have is if you were to buy 5 games with the price of $ 6.95 or less, the 5^th game with the cheapest price would be free. Basically you’ll be paying for 5 games for the price of 4.
Otherwise, with the amounts of possible games they have to offer, plus their relatively fair prices and if you’re into gaming, I would definitely say this store is worth checking out. If I didn’t already have a large PS2 collection, there would’ve already been over 20 games that I would’ve bought right on the spot.

Pretty much a one stop shop:
Need a game? good selection for a variety of consoles and fair prices
Need clean clothes? rack gamer shirts to choose from
Hungry? Thirsty? Tab and fancy, imported pop tarts anyone? yes please!

I should tell you all right now that I don’t know a god damn thing about videogames, all I know is that I freaking love Mario Kart.
I also love the close walk from Columbia Skytrain station! So handy! It’s impossible to get lost when looking for GameDeals as there is a GIANT NES controller in the window. And the store is painted red on the outside.
Anyways, I was given a Nintendo 64 system to babysit from a friend with an overcrowded apartment and it came with a decent selection of games… but no god damn Mario Kart.
So. off I went into New Westminster to see if I had any luck finding it here. Sure enough, there were a few in stock and I snagged one up!
They guarantee all of their games and I’ve been in a few times and witnessed them testing some out. You may be wondering why I keep coming back if I don’t play videogames. EXCELLENT QUESTION. The staff are so freaking awesome to chat with and there is a giant couch in the window. I like to camp out here sometimes. It seems they have a few regulars who do the same.

My husband always buys himself a «gift» for getting a new job. Generally this runs us the cost of a new laptop, since being a geek his toys can be on the pricier side.
So this time round — Gamedeals came to my rescue! Dan got one very large NeoGeo Cabinet for a great deal — $ 500. This place is a gem in New Westminster and one of the only used games stores around in Vancouver anymore.
Additionally — he got me bubble bobble nintendo game too!

Listen… I’ve got a secret… Would you believe that there is actually a gamer store in New West where there is gamers and games — and they’ll talk to you. That’s right! Gamers who will actually talk to human beings — about games; about consoles; about the weather; anything.
And they really know their games! Good prices on after-​market controllers, refurbished consoles, and stacks of games.
I dropped very little money on an N64 console with after-​market controller.
I dropped a little too much for a Harvest Moon, but — hey — it’s still better than «Farmville».
My baby doesn’t like diamonds, so I have to be creative!

You may remember seeing this store on the news when they put their security camera footage on Youtube and caught the thief who ripped off thousands of dollars worth of stuff in a break and enter.
These days, though, it’s still a good place for game geeks to browse, no matter what system they play on. Game Deals has a wide selection of used games for everything from PS3 and Xbox to Sega and Nintendo — even a few ColecoVision games from way back. There’s a healthy stock of Atari games too. Who likes Frogger? Yes I know you do.
They also sell a few vintage systems, and also offer repair service. I’m thinking of overhauling my old NES here, as I can’t seem to bring myself to get rid of it, and it might be fun to have a Super Mario party. Seeing the Gameboy cartridges made me want to go home and see if I still have mine somewhere!
