Established in 1985.

Richard Watters, the owner of Richard’s Pro Cleaning in Nanaimo, has been operating a carpet cleaning service for 26 years. Starting in 1985 in Toronto as a part-​time business, Richard’s customer base quickly grew as the first customers began to refer their relatives, friends and neighbors. Richard relocated to Nanaimo in the spring of 2010, to be a caregiver to his elderly mother. When the business folded in Toronto, it was 100% repeat business from long-​time customers. As a relatively new Nanaimo, BC carpet cleaner, Richard is rebuilding the business by giving customers the same thorough cleaning at a competitive price that won the trust and loyalty of so many customers back east.

Business Owner

Born and grew up in Timmins, ON Canada, the home of singer Shania Twain. Attended Carleton University during Canada’s centennial celebrations hosted by PM Pierre Trudeau. Went on to Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Toronto and from there landed a position with the Royal Ontario Museum in 1974. After 10 years, left to do a short stint as a freelance audio-​visual technician and then shifted business focus and started into the carpet cleaning field which he has been doing since. In May of 2010, Richard relocated the business to Nanaimo, BC and is busy building a brand new customer base while enjoying the milder climate and exploring the natural beauty of Vancouver Island.
