U2 in Montreal – Innocence & Experience Night 1

Thankfully these shows (Montréal Night 1 and 2) are on the weekend which is a saving grace.
My physical tummy wasn’t properly adjusted for the show. It’s 5:30 pm local time (in Vancouver). My tummy was operating on Vancouver time, therefore, it was a scramble for me to get something to eat before the show which caused me to miss the opening number. I did make it in time for the Electric Company. My body had a hard time adjusting in general for this show. It wasn’t until the 4^th song until I physically was able to kick into gear.
Weirdly tonight I was in the mood for I Will Follow.
I will be honest in saying that Montréal puts Vancouver to shame when it comes to audience enthusiasm for any show. Most shows that I have seen/​heard in Montréal have always been traditionally louder than any province. One of my pet peeves is the anti-​social bullshit of Vancouver. Montréal is completely opposite of Vancouver in their love for music. Loudest cheer so far that I have heard for I Will Follow.
Bono counted the intro to Vertigo in French which was kinda cute and gimmicky. To be honest I couldn’t tell if he said, «I, 2, 3, 4» or «1,2,3,14.» It’s hard to tell when someone is speaking French with an American/​Irish accent.
It just clicked after _​_​_​_​_​shows that there is a poetic theme between Raised by Wolves and Until The End Of The World. Those two songs back to back come off as very dark. The transition between Wolves and the Start of UTEOTW was very rushed. The band came in half a bar early? Threw Bono off a bit.
Venue sound was a bit echoey that The Edge’s reverb on Even Better Than The Real Thing was diluted.
Elevation was the wild card song. Very intense energy. If I wasn’t too tired I would’ve been jumping.
Ordinary Love is a weak song, however, Montréal is such an awesome crowd that they gave it more than 100% (extremely loud cheers during this song).
U2 is on the final song… Still haven’t found the Setlist they are looking for.
