Studio Sundari – Salon de Coiffure

Please avoid this salon. I visited as a newcomer to Montréal looking for a new hairdresser. I went for a ‘full head weave’ extensions. Not from a personal recommendation, but from finding their website. From my experience I’m assuming all the hair pics on their website is taken from the back because the front looked like mine at the end, high and puffy like a bad wig :(

The stylist was cheerful but extremely slow, my braids below were done chunky and loose which resulted in the weave looking unrealistic, high and bumpy. Even worse my own hair that was left out wasn’t permed to match the straightness of the extensions.
Furthermore, I paid almost double what I usually pay to get my hair done $ 330 CAD, it usually costs $ 160 – 200 CAD. They also charge by the minute to wash hair etc, so that pricing strategy and a slow stylist is a no win for the client. At least I brought my own hair along so I didn’t have to buy their overpriced hair.
I removed my extensions a few days later as they were very hard to style, I’ll attach some photos. Its the most untidy braiding I have ever had. Most people know good braiding is an important foundation for good weave extensions.
Overall, just very disappointed and feeling ripped off.

Friendly and helpful staff willing to accommodate. Various types of experiences there so I’d suggest confirming you are paired with the right stylist before sitting down in the chair.

i was thoroughly disappointed in the money i spent on extensions from here. i bought them online and individually. i did not go to the place of business to have them done so my review is based on just the extension. they arrived the wrong color and they were very poorly made. they told me they sent the «wrong order» I sent them back and it took TWO MONTHS to get them returned to me. i kept asking about them, they said they shipped them, then they reshipped them, it was a mess. they arrived and were the right color but not the right size or quality… you could take them and tie them easily in knots or shapes they were so flat and flimsy… or swing them around like a limp noodle. not a mature dred at all. i have mature dreds, so i know what they should look like and there was no way to blend them or make them look like mine. the pictures online look fine but i did not get what they advertised. its not even real human hair like the ad says… its got mostly fake hair (doll hair) i should have just taken that money and bought a bag of human hair and done it myself. i was just trying to save myself some TIME but it did not work out at all. buyer beware!
