Share the Warmth is all about people

We feed 1,200 people each month through our food bank and now have launched a Community Café, open six days a week, offering a vegetarian lunch meal. Cooking workshops for adults and kids complete the food security programs.

We also support the education and overall development of youth through a scholarship program, a tutoring and mentoring program, a youth group and a comprehensive music program.

Last, but never least, we offer work training to adults who are excluded from the work force.

We welcome hundreds of volunteers each year and are always looking for more to help with programming.

Be a part of the solution and Share the Warmth!

History

Established in 1989.

Share the Warmth began when three women felt pushed to act to counter the social neglect that led to the death of a homeless man in the winter of 1989. They organized a coat drive that collected so many clothes, coats and sleeping bags that they had to store leftovers for the following year. This led to the founding of Share the Warmth.
