MKC had his beard trim and shave his head. The lady did a good job, washed his head after he saves and washed his face as well. Not to mention he has a shoulder and back massage. He surprised and loving it it’s recommend if you’re staying at downtown Montréal. The owner was really nice to us and very helpful

I’ve been going here for two years now. They always ask you if you want water, tea, coffee when getting settled. I always get my haircut done by Andrea and I love her, she never disappoints. She makes sure to listen to what you want, looks carefully at pictures you give her (if you do), asks you about what kind of styling you do to your hair (blow dry/​air dry, curl, straighten, etc), and a lot of more nice stuff. She really listens. If you plan on colouring your hair but aren’t sure of what to do yet or have an idea but need a professional’s opinion, you can also ask her because she also seems to have knowledge on what would be good for your hair when it comes to colour.
For colouring though, I go to Damon. I’ve been to him once, and from that first time, it’s safe to say that I will definitely go back to him whenever I will want to colour my hair. I had an appointment with him the day after I got a haircut from Andrea and she told him what I wanted, they pretty much explained to me the same thing of what the results/​process of colouring my hair would be (because it’s long and thick). Damon did a great job at fixing my already coloured hair (with ugly grown out roots). He was so sweet, making sure I was comfortable. I had a friend with me, so I wasn’t bored while waiting for my colour to set and Damon joined in our conversation like we were friends for a long time. A slight problem that I had after getting my hair rinsed was that I had to schedule an appointment for blow drying because it is not provided with the colouring (you have to pay for the blow drying separately). I found it silly, but it was okay. At the end of my appointment, my hair looked great & felt great (still feels great) even after being coloured.
All I have to say is, I would highly recommend going Adikt Salon for a haircut and for colouring. :)

I’ve been going to this salon for a few years, but unfortunately they’ve now lost my business. Their stylists are excellent but their customer service and scheduling is not. I’m really disappointed.
Mia was an amazing stylist who understood my hair intuitively, in a way nobody has before or since. No matter how it grew out, it looked salon-​quality every day, whether I styled it or let it air dry. Even after the location moved and I stopped working downtown, it was more than worth the 40-​minute trip each way just to see Mia. Unfortunately, she broke my heart by leaving to pursue another career.
Salon Adikt put me with another stylist who is also great, but doesn’t have Mia’s sixth sense for what my hair would do once I left the salon. I won’t name the stylist because she’s fantastic and I don’t want her to seem any less fantastic in comparison to Mia, but she just didn’t quite connect with my hair the same way.
My most recent haircut was a dramatic change (from long and layered to a shoulder-​length bob) and we decided to leave it blunt to see how it works and then I could come back to get it layered if it didn’t work out. I found that the blunt end gave me a bit of a «triangle head» effect, so I tried to book an appointment to put in more layers. First, she wasn’t available for nearly two weeks, which is understandable. Unfortunately, I got very sick and was nearly hospitalized and had to cancel the appointment. When I went to reschedule, there was about a week-​long wait which, again, was fine.
However, when I went to my appointment today, the metros were running very slowly and I ended up being about ten minutes behind schedule. I called from the metro to let them know and learned that they hadn’t booked me with the stylist I specifically requested AND since I was ten minutes late I would have to reschedule and the only time they had was in another week (over a month after the original cut). First of all, I requested my normal stylist because she knows my cut and what I was coming back for, so even if I’d arrived on time I wouldn’t have had the service I had requested. Second of all, I’d already been in the metro forty minutes and I had to turn around and go back home, a complete waste of over an hour of my time. Third of all, I’ve been coming here for years, since they were still on Ste-​Catherine and I’ve never been more than two or three minutes late for an appointment and I’ve never cancelled with less than 2 days’ notice, and they couldn’t even manage to fit me in ten minutes late? Is that ten minutes really worth losing loyal, long-​term customers? I understand that they have a schedule to maintain, but at the same time, sometimes unexpected things come up, the metro runs slowly or stops, a meeting runs long, there’s bad traffic, whatever. And that’s not even mentioning the fact that they booked me in with someone other than the stylist I specifically requested.
I live around the corner from another Aveda salon, and on the way home I popped in to see if there was anything they could do. Despite being very busy, they were able to see me today. Even though the cut still wasn’t as good as Mia’s work, it was $ 10 cheaper than Salon Adikt and if I’m going to get a really-​good-​but-​not-​great haircut with underwhelming service, I’d rather go around the corner than across town. I’ll be going to the new salon from now on.

My story with Adikt was on a honeymoon until I talked to an obnoxious receptionist that informed me I had cancelled two appointments «last minute» and that they had this unwritten policy that «people like me» fdon’t get to reserve over the phone, that I must come in person and prepay for the services in advance.
Without getting into the illegality of such idiocy, I am sorry I won’t put my hair in the trust of the much more decent stylists at the salon. Adikt management should know that their downtown clientele is made of busy people with crazy schedules and that we willingly pay the extra bucks for a professional and service-​oriented salon.
As for my «crimes», I was offered an empty spot, as a previous client had cancelled out. I was too quick to confirm and called back minutes later to cancel.
By the Way, this cancellation policy ain’t written anywhere nor communicated to any of the customers… what a shame.

My best haircut ever! Was in town in business, used Unilocal to. Find a salon. Luckily SALON ADIKT came up. Was able to get appt next day. Danielle was fantastic. Prices were reasonable. Need to find a way to get back here more often.

I first visited salon Adikt when they were still located on Saint Catherine street. Damon coloured my hair and he was amazing! I just came to their new location 2 weeks ago to change my look for the summer and honestly i left the salon with the best hair i’ve ever had. This time Andrea did my hair and she did an amazing job. Because it was my first time having lighter hair, Andrea reassured me that if I don’t love it, i could always come back for her to tone it down. I love how the staff there took the time to make the visit personable.
Although the salon is slightly more expensive, it is so worth it in my opinion! The salon is also very beautiful, bright and clean. I definitely enjoy coming here!

I am a long time client of Damon (colourist) and Andrea (stylist) and have followed them from Tonic on St Laurent Blvd to the Salon Adikt Ste Catherine West location to the current location on Mayor. My hair is healthy and vibrant due to their expertise.
I trust them implicitly because they are excellent communicators which I think is key about working with the reality of a person’s hair (in my case cowlicks galore and tonnes of grey) and making it fabulous. So many at other salons say what they think you want to hear then do another in hopes of appeasing your fantasy ideas of what your hair can do. Instead Damon and Andrea do fantastic attention to detail quality work.

Another great trip to this salon. The stylist and others remembered me from my visit almost 6 months previously. I was pretty impressed that they took the time to make the visit personable. Zoe did an amazing job with the color. She’s very good at blending and making it look natural. Kiri is also a great stylist very efficient and systematic. I was very happy with them both :)
Although the salon is slightly more expensive, it’s really worth it especially if you have long hair. For some reason, the cuts last much longer (like 6 months +) when I go to this higher-​end salon compared to the few times I went to a bargain one which only lasted maybe 2 months before «the split end frizz out». I don’t know if it’s to do with the quality/​sharpness of the scissors or what. Or they’re some secret way to cut it or something. Anyway in the long run, it’s definitely worth it especially for long hair. I definitely enjoy coming here.

Been going there since they opened. I’m always greeted with a warm welcome, my espresso is always hot and fresh. They give a full service: beverage, massage and wash then an amazing haircut. Kiri is one of the rare hair dressers that can make my hair look good as it is really tough to work with.
After hair dresser hopping in the past I’ve finally settled here. They are really friendly and give an amazing experience.

I found the staff at the salon very unprofessional.
I have been to Adikt salon before when it was still at the old location downtown and really enjoyed the hair cut and the service.
When i came to the new location, i arrived 8 minutes early than my appointment time. The salon was closed, so I waited by the door.
And then the most ridiculous thing happened. Salon staff started waving me to go away and not stand by the door. There was really not much to go away to and it was already 5 minutes to appointment, so I kept standing by the door. Instead of coming to the door and communicating with me, they kept waving me away in the most disrespectful way.
I kept showing them with sing language to come to door and explain why they want me to go away, and finally they came. without introducing themselves, or apologizing for disrespectful behaviour, they told me to go wait elsewhere. because they are not open yet.
Needless to say, I am never going back to this salon with such arrogant disrespectful customer service.

Three words: unbelievable customer service.

A few months ago I had an unfortunate experience at this salon and left a negative review about it saying that I would never be back. However, Andrea, the creative director, recently reached out to me and wanted to meet in person to discuss what went wrong. After speaking with her and Damon, they insisted I come in for a correction and although I insisted to pay for it, they insisted even harder that I consider it a credit for my previous experience.
I met again with them today and had one of the most excellent experiences I have ever had at a salon — so much so that I am convinced my previous negative experience with someone else at the salon was likely a one time thing. Andrea and Damon were extremely gracious, kind, and patient despite this being something free of charge. Once done, I was super happy with my haircut and great color adjustment. I tried again to pay for the service but was repeatedly told that it was not an option. On top of this, they wouldn’t even let me pay for the shampoo I wanted to buy!
I’ve never met people more keen on providing excellent customer service and have to say with confidence that I will 100% be back. I realize that my previous review was not accurate of the salon and therefore felt a deep need to take it down.

I really recommend is salon! It was my first time visiting here and it was really an amazing experience. Zoe did an amazing job, she was very thorough when she coloured my hair and the colour came out great. I would definitely recommend her.

I’ve been coming to Salon Adikt since they first opened (Andrea had been my stylist at another Aveda salon before that) and have always had a five-​star experience. They’ve recently moved into a swanky new spot, conveniently beside Furco bar. Fantastic colour and cuts, great hair tips, and super friendly, personable people. The salon has a comfortable, down-​to-​earth vibe. Andrea and Damon and their staff really care about their customers (and their hair, of course!), and they take the time to sit down and consult with you to figure out what’s best for you, rather than rushing you into anything. I always leave feeling content and very zen. Definitely recommended.

Chilling in my chair right now waiting for my hair color to set, so I thought why not start up my review? The new salon is a quick 3 min walk from metro Place des Arts (I took exit de Bleury Sud) I like how easy it is to get there.
After trying many different salons in Montréal and feeling dissatisfied, a few years ago I found Adikt through a fellow Unilocaler’s review and never looked back! I totally recommend them! It’s the best Montréal salon for my Asian hair (think tons of thick and color resistant hair) and count on them for awesome cuts and color from Andrea and Damon. They take into consideration your lifestyle to help you make the right decisions (I know that as much as I would love some hairstyles or color, I’ve learned that I’m a low maintenance type) to avoid disappointment or pick a better choice. Everyone is super friendly, knowledgeable, and they give great service. Colorist Zoe even gave me advice on how to do a simple updo for a wedding! (I totally was able to do it on my own — that never happens!!)
So now that my hair is finished I can say it nice and shiny and I’m a happy happy Clare!
