Pang Pang Karaoke Bar

Nous avions réservé une salle «Large» via le site. On nous a confirmé notre reservation par courriel. Tout était dans l’ordre à notre arrivée. Le personnel est courtois et très attentionné. Nous avons appuyé plusieurs fois sur le bouton d’aide et Ils sont venus à chaque fois. C’est très dispensieux, surtout l’alcool mais selon nous ça valu le coup! Je vous conseille de prendre une bouteille si vous êtes plusieurs car au verre cest 8 $ chacun!

Je suis une habituée de ce karaoké, grâce à mon beau-​frère qui nous y invite dès que l’occasion se présente. J’aime bien puisque c’est un karaoké avec des salles privées de différentes tailles pour des groupes, ce qui est moins gênant que de chanter devant des inconnus dans un bar.
Quand on arrive, une personne du groupe doit laisser une pièce d’identité au comptoir (pourquoi? je né suis pas certaine). Ensuite, on nous amèné à notre salle. Il est obligatoire de commander au moins une consommation par personne. Nous commandons généralement une ou plusieurs théières de thé vert (chaque théière compte pour quatre consommations). C’est sans alcool et c’est bon pour la gorge!
Ensuite il faut CHANTER! :D Ils ont un catalogue assez varié de chansons américaines, anglaises et asiatiques (pour ceux qui connaissent le japonais ou le coréen). Mais pas de chansons en français (enfin, peut-​être une ou deux) ni de chansons québécoises. Mais il y en a pour tous les goût: années 80, hip-​hop, rock, pop, disney («let it go» quelqu’un?), etc.
Le système est en coréen, mais est assez simple d’utilisation: on entre le numéro de la chanson, suivi du gros bouton rose pour enregistrer. On peut ajouter autant de chansons qu’on veut et ça crée une setlist automatiquement. Donc, pas de pause pour le fun! Les vidéoclips n’ont rien à voir avec la chanson, ce qui peut être soit décourageant ou très drôle, selon comment on se sent (ou notre taux d’alcoolémie). Même chose pour les fautes d’orthographe dans les paroles («can anybody fine me somebody to love»). Par contre, il est préférable de choisir des chansons sans grand passage instrumental puisque, comme pour plusieurs systèmes de karaōke, les pistes sont faites au synthétiseur (i.e. MIDI).
Quand vient le temps de payer, il est maintenant possible de séparer la facture entre le nombre de convives, ce qui n’était pas le cas avant. Pour la gamme de prix, ça dépend vraiment du nombre de personnes puisque la salle est louée à l’heure. Par exemple, pour deux heures de karaoké pour sept personnes, un samedi soir, nous avons payé 21 $ chacun (taxes et pourboire inclus). Pour avoir essayé plusieurs bars à karaoké avec des salles privées, c’est moins cher qu’ailleurs. Mais ça va aussi avec l’aspect des lieux et le système. Ailleurs, les salles sont plus belles, on peut voir les vrais videoclips des chansons qu’on chante, ou encore le choix de chansons est plus grand, mais c’est plus cher.

Alcohol is too expensive. The 11 $ drink didn’t have any vodka. Anyways. don’t go here.

I had fun cause it’s karaōke and they have a wide set variety of songs. But the service is terrible, they’re so thirsty for your money. I don’t think I’ll be visiting again.

Just realized I never reviewed Pang Pang after an awesome night here last summer! It’s private, small room karaōke, perfect for the bachelorette party vibe we were riding that night: gang of gals, no one bothering us, no inhibitions, no judgement for picking whatever cheesy songs your heart desires. We stuck to straight whiskey, beer, or simple vodka soda type stuff so we didn’t have any issues with the cocktails others have mentioned. Staff were friendly and helped us out with some extra time. And they have truly amazing weird videos to go with all your sings. Classic, and hilarious.

Save your money and go to K Karaōke, at the least you are not forced to get any type of beverage. They divide the bill when you are a large group of people are or not rude.
Avoid this dump, they are unfriendly, bossy, bitchy, uncultured and have no idea what customer service is.

Place is ok, rooms are nice. Music selection is ok, but the videos to the music are bad videos that have nothing to do with the songs. Be careful ordering drinks here. Way overpriced and they add automatic service charge and tips to the drinks… making a 5.50 $ drink over 7 $ for a tiny glass of a badly mixed drink. With the fact they charge for the room rental, they should make the drinks at least decent priced. T

Un karaōke avec des petites salles privées, un décor kitch à souhait et une sonnette pour appeler la boisson, ça me semble un bon plan. Le prix peut sembler élevé, mais une fois divisé dans le groupe ça reste quand même abordable. On s’entend que ça revient quand même plus cher qu’un bar karaōke ordinaire. J’oublie tout le temps les prix, je vais tenter de penser à prendre la liste en photo la prochaine fois. En plus du prix de la salle, il faut prendre au moins une consommation par personne.
À noter :
Ils né divisent pas la facture, donc il faut sortir la calculatrice à la sortie et se rappeler de nos consommations parce qu’elles sont portées à la facture.
Il y a un bon choix de chansons, mais certaines vidéos sont perturbantes. On s’habitué par contre, ça fait partie de l’expérience maintenant.
On a toujours réservé, donc pas de problème de place. Entre 3 et 4 heures avec un resto avant, c’est pas mal le «sweet spot» pour une soirée réussie.

If you think karaōke is singing in front of a bar full of people, then that is because you don’t know real karaōke — private fucking rooms where you can relax and make a fool of yourself in front of your friends.
The only complaint other than the booze, is the ridiculously tiny selection of songs, most if them B-​sides. This is 2014! We have had internet around for a long while now, and these karaōke machines are electronic devices — how about combining the two technologies and having endless amounts of songs? Christ, YouTube has that. After having gone four times now, i think I have sang everything I wanted to about five times over. But it is better than singing Mr. Roboto in some Frenchy bar.
Tips:
1.DO NOT buy the mixed drinks! They are $ 5.50 a pop and they contain maybe a quarter ounce of booze, which is about all they could fit into the double-​shot glass sized glasses. Instead, get the Smirnoff Ice which will pack a punch.
2. The door’s window is opaque! You can get naughty if you like, you cheeky bugger!

Great place! Good for girls night out! we went on a bachelorette and it was perfect! No gross guys around haha It was a bit pricey… so thats why i put four stars. it was clean and good service. I would go back.

Sangria tasted like my neighbour’s nephew’s fruit punch, I could even taste the cheapness of the wine that was used. Do NOT order any cocktails here!
Good place for karaōke, the song selections are wide and they update their song lists monthly. Every room is equipped with an air conditioner, however their furnitures are really old and the waiter had a really bad attitude.

Loved the place! If your a little group it’s awesome to have your own lounge especially for a friends birthday! The bottles of alcohol weren’t that expensive. The fact that its intimate gives the chance for everyone to sing and not be shy! I am definitely going to go back.

Over-​priced for karaōke, and even more so for drinks. The Mojo shot bottles they sell for 50 $ a piece are available for 9.99 $ at my local depanneur. We made the mistake of buying two bottles the first time we had been in years, and will certainly not be ripped off again.
The staff is rude and kind of cold, the lady at the counter was incredibly snotty and refused to help us calculate what the cost per person for the room would be – she would not even let us use her calculator that she had right in front of her. We ordered food off of their snack menu and it never came, yet they tried to charge us for it, so make sure you check your bill before you pay!,
The song selection is decently good and updated frequently — though not any more so than other nearby karaōke places — and the décor is nice, if not a little cheesy.
Do make reservations at least a few days in advance, or don’t expect to get a room. Also, make sure you specify how long you want to reserve the room for, otherwise, as some people below have said, you will get kicked out in the middle of your evening without any notice.

This place is expensive, BUT song selection is by far more superior than the other karaōke spots in Montréal. They have a happy hour 3PM-​8PM which is $ 10/​hr which is cheaper but I think it still adds up. They have Korean, Vietnamese, and English songs. Every time I went, they had updated, new English hits like Moves like Jagger or Rocketeer. So if you want to sing the latest songs, fret not, because most likely Pang Pang will have it. Alcohol price is the same, around 6 bucks for a beer 4 for a shot last time I checked. Rooms are clean, screen is quite large and remote control is a bit intimidating because it’s all big, fat chunkyish. Service is ok from all the times i went, neither bad nor good. I would give it a 4 if it wasn’t so darn expensive.

Un bar karaōke asiatique à Montréal. Et c’est même pas dans le quartier chinois ! Déjà on entre et la décoration fait kitch avec une déco un peu dorée et les vendeurs parlent pas très bien français/​anglais. Ensuite j’y étais allé samedi après midi, du coup c’était happy hour et j’ai du payé 12 $ pour au moins 4h de karaōke. Alors ensuite après avoir payé, le serveur nous emmèné dans notre cabine de karaōke, le son est assez bien isolé et on entend pas les cabines voisines. On ouvre la porte et il y a un grand écran et deux grands canapé face à face très confortables. La liste des chansons est énormes et il y a de tout: anglais, japonais, chinois, coréen… Bön le problème: savoir lire ces langues ^^ Leur répertoire est assez moderne mais les clips qui vont avec les chansons né le sont pas XD Pour les fans de musiques asiatiques c’est le bon endroit pour s’éclater entre amis. Par contre pour prendre des consos, c’est cher !

This place is decked out and beautiful… As for the service… You MUST make reservations prior to entering or else you will get kicked out in the middle of your experience if that room was already booked prior to you booking it. Would that be considered bad service or proper service?
