Both the food and service is at Michelin One Star level. The halibut was amazingly cooked — the sauce, side veggie, and fish itself. Highly recommend this entrée. The scallop appetizer was also above level. The kobe steak was the only piece that was at par(the meat was not a good section) but the control on the grill & oven saved that. Lobster was amazing too. Will return! Recommend it!

An inconspicuous door along a white wall, the bold crest in black and white placed overhead, little would you know that behind that wall and through those foggy windows would be a dining experience as exquisite as this. It’s thanks to the«Monacle» feature on the app that I found this gem! Seemingly always at capacity, it boasts a classical fine dining atmosphere. The multi-page drink menu gives you plenty of libations to choose from. The menu is diverse and each dish’s explanation is mouth watering. We had: + Oysters(3 ways: original, watermelon cucumber, and what seemed to be the French Onion Soup version) + Pork Risotto + Veggies + Salmon + Veal + and an amazing cream and fruit dessert that exploded with flavor! Everything was delicious, the staff was friendly and I can’t wait to come back on my next visit to Montréal!

The dinner was amazing. I would highly recommend the fioe gras. It’s the most delicious dish of the nigh. I did not enjoy the duck entry at all. It was too raw for me. The Clementine cake was really good. Overall, really nice dining experience.

My boyfriend took me here for Valentines Day and everything was so delicious and very romantic. The sommelier was very nice and such an expert that she made me want to try everything just by the description she gave. She explained that the scallops were like little bites of candy that melt in your mouth and she was right, I could have eaten those like popcorn. Oyster were delicious, sweet breads were unreal, and dessert was the bombe(both literally and figuratively). We did not have one thing that we did not like. Service was also excellent. One of the best meals I have had and definitely the most expensive.

Fantastic! We sat at the bar and let Helen create an impromptu tasting menu for us. We had no idea what we were going to be served and thoroughly enjoyed everything. This restaurant really knows how to pair flavors together. The duck, the lobster, the scallops, the dessert… all tasty. Well worth it even though we sat at the bar. Would eat there again.

Le Club Chasse et Peche is owned by Chef Claude Pelletier and Hubert Marsolais and has been around since ’07. This lodge-like restaurant offers not too extensive of an menu, including items such as ‘Oysters with Charisma,’ ‘Beef Carpaccio, Truffle, Aioli, Celery, and Maitake,’ ‘Seared Foie Gras, Oranges, Seabuckthron, Sable, and Pistachios,’ etc. The hubs and I came here for a late dinner reservation, and they do strictly adhere to the time — getting seated earlier isn’t really an option, as this restaurant does get jam-packed. We tried the Braised Piglet Risotto, which came topped with foie gras shavings(I wasn’t a fan of this dish, as while it was creamy, it had a very oatmeal-like taste to it with an off-flavor to it; the hubs was actually a fan of this dish, and thought it was one of the better risotto dishes he’s had); Kid Ravioli(filled with feta, artichokes, and dressed with golden raisins; this came as pan-fried dumpling like, with a crispy exterior; however, I wasn’t really a fan of the filling, as it was sweeter and tasted as if it was filled with mashed prunes); and, for the main entrée, the Suckling Pig(with French fingerlings, kale, and walnuts — the pork itself was pretty tasty, as it was wrapped in bacon and flash-fried; the exterior had this nice salty crispiness to it; the pork inside was tender and super juicy; no sauce was even needed for the meat; the sides of the kale and the fingerling potatoes seemed like an afterthought, as they did not complement the pork). For dessert, the hubs had the Donuts that came with a scoop of hazelnut ice cream and drizzled with a crème anglaise — I thought the doughnuts were more on the dryer end, not being soft and fluffy; I had the Horizon, which was a clementine cake topped with small slices of blood orange and topped with cream cheese(this was okay, and I appreciated more of the slices of fresh blood orange). Service was friendly and full of humor — the servers, Mr. Phil, Mr. Damian, and Mr. Ray were all super sweet and welcoming. The restaurant itself felt like an underground dark ‘club,’ where there were even some club beats playing overhead. Just note that this restaurant is extremely loud, so it’s definitely not a place for an intimate dinner — the combination of the music and the loud conversations was a little overwhelming. +Suckling Pig(just the pork portion) +ask for Mr. Phil, Mr. Damian, and Mr. Ray +reservations strictly adhered to

Had a fabulous dinner here – grabbed whatever reservation was still available a week in advance, which was 9pm on a Saturday. The experience starts right as you enter the restaurant – it’s beautiful. Dim lighting and has an old town lux feel. The host took our coats and we were led to our table. The ambiance of the restaurant was very romantic and high class, without feeling pretentious. Our server was pleasant and was knowledgeable about wines(for me) and the couple old fashioneds my husband ordered were on point and strong. We splurged a little on the menu because so many items were appealing. We ordered the foie gras appetizer, légumes avec panache(squash was the vegetable of the day), and I had the canard(duck) and husband ordered the pork loin. Each item was superb! The foie gras was generous and paired with light citrus flavors of pear and beets. The squash dish was meant to be our healthier vegetable side, but when they say panache – they meant panache! It was mixed in with butter and creams and baked in the skin and then topped with cheese. Very rich, but of course still outstanding. As for our entrees, they were cooked to perfection. My duck was a delicious cut of meat, and cooked pink so that it was tender but with a crisp to the seared skin. My husband’s pork loin was equally perfect. Our only regret of the night was that we didn’t have enough room for dessert! Definitely one of my favorite meals in Montréal, and hope to dine here again in future trips.

Went with some out of town friends who all loved it and are still raving about the experience. The service was very good — they adjusted the menu for two members of our group and gave lots of very helpful tips. Nice atmosphere. The food was wonderful. We each tried something different, with a few of us having two appetizers instead of a main meal and still feeling like we had more than enough food. I had the scallops followed by risotto, both of which I would not hesitate to have again.

The meal was pretty much perfect from start to finish. This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. But also the most expensive. My feelings echo a lot of the other reviewers’ in that the food was essentially flawless and that the piglet risotto was the best dish — the foie gras shavings melted and completed the dish perfectly. I will say that although the scallops were good, we could’ve done without them. The Chasse et peche(we got lobster & steak) was cooked well but the $ 62 price was pretty scary. I got the Bombe for dessert and the chocolate-caramel tart was extremely sweet but it was offset nicely by the dark chocolate sorbet. I also tried a bit of the Aurora and the yogurt sorbet, apricots, and caramel cake were nice and refreshing. Props to the servers for the unpretentious service and accommodating us by splitting all the dishes for us(all pictures show half portion sizes except for the scallops and desserts). If I could only choose one dish from this restaurant, I would recommend the risotto because it was to die for.

Amazing food We had supper with family, it was one of the best meals I have had so far, the ingredients are so fresh and tasty to die for, we had the lobster and filet mignon dish which tasted amazing and very rich to the palate then the Morue with wild rice which was so crispy and heavenly, not to talk about their excellent chef who create the desserts because they are out of this world, I would go there every day for food and especially for their unique desserts, bravo for their excellent chefs!

Quite possibly the best meal I’ve had in my life. So amazing that during a week trip to Montréal, we booked this place twice. Each time, we ordered 4 of their small plates and split a main course in order to sample as much of the menu as possible. As explained by our waiter, there are two dishes that cannot be removed from their menu, the braised piglet risotto and the seared scallops. We had each during both of our visits. The braised piglet risotto with foie gras shavings is incredible to the point that eating at Le Club Chasse and not having it should be a crime. Order it. You WILLNOT be disappointed. The seared scallops are amazing as well. Perfectly seared and caramelized on one side, with a savory lemon confit sauce. They have a notable wine list, and a sommelier on standby to help pair your meal with the perfect wine. Our waiter was attentive, polite, and extremely helpful in helping us explore their menu. He even took the time to write down a few of his favorite coffee shops, bars, and restaurants around town. While on the pricey side, Le Club Chasse is worth every penny. A calming ambience, unforgettable food, and great staff. I will stop by every time in Montréal. Highly recommend.

In summary — Le Club Chasse et Pêche delivers in contemporary upscale French cuisine! Set in the Old Port in a robust old stone building with no signs and no windows, this place isn’t easy to find. Standing in front of it, you almost wonder if there is actually any sign of life inside. However, once you step inside, you immediately feel like you’ve just joined an exclusive yet very lively sort of men’s club. Low ceilings and leather trimmings, you’d almost expect the hostess to hand you a glass of whiskey and a box of cigars. However, she instead gracefully hands you a menu where, as the name of the restaurant suggests, meat and fish are the star. Reading along the menu, you get a sense that dishes are imaginative as they pair french classics with modern ingredients. We started our experience with an appetizer of boar and lobster ravioli. The boar was delicious as it had crispy skin and perfectly rendered fat. The lobster was very rich in flavour but more ravioli than lobster. We followed with the piglet risotto topped with shavings of foie gras. The description in itself says it all. It was richness on top of richness but worth every minute spent on the treadmill as the flavours just exploded in your mouth. Apparently this dish has been on their menu since the opening, they are unable to take it off as it’s just that good! For mains we opted for the duck and the venison. Again very creative dishes as both proteins were prepared two ways. The duck was served as a magret and as a duck heart salad while the venison was served as a tenderloin as well as a ‘pulled pork style’ shredded venison. Both dishes were beautifully executed, perfectly cooked and very tasty. However, they were not the best duck or venison we’ve ever had. The duck had a somewhat teriyaki flair and the shredded venison had a bit too much bbq sauce to fully appreciate the meat. As for the service, it was very professional but lacked that spark that in our minds would have made it exceptional. Overall, this is a solid place to impress a date or anyone worth impressing. Although you probably won’t have a mind blowing foodie experience, you can definitely expect to have consistently delicious food served in a intimate and exclusive ‘club like’ setting.

We had dinner at Le Club Chasse et Pêche. Service was excellent — the servers were very knowledgeable about their menu and answered our questions about the menu very well. The atmosphere is romantic and dim-lit. Very classy :) DRINKS: weingut Robert Weil, Rheingau, riesling trocken 2013(pour moi) celler Hidalgo Albert, Priorat ”1270 a Vuit” 2008(pour mon copain) TRUFFLEPASTA(5⁄5) This was the special of the day and I highly recommend this! I hope they continue making this dish as a regular. The truffle flavour tasted amazing — a very nice combination with the creamy pasta. Loved this! BRAISEDPIGLETRISOTTO(3⁄5) (with foie gras shavings) I got to admit, first bite was AMAZING! But the more I ate this, the saltier it got. The foie gras shavings were perfect though(but keep in mind, I’m biased about FGs, I love them! haha) OCEANDELIVERY(4⁄5) (Cod fish, black rice, turnips, russula) This was so delicious. The cod fish was soft and the side dishes paired well with it. I needed something on the lighter end as my dinner from the night before was too fatty haha. VENISON(4⁄5) (hubbard squash, gnocchi, girolle, Louis d’or) The meat was delicious and tender. I liked the purée portion of the dish — adds so much flavour to the dish!

Amazing experience. The piglet risotto with foie gras shavings was incredible and the venison entrée was the best dish I’ve ever had in my life. It was cooked perfectly on the rare side and all the accompaniments were perfect– braised baby Brussels sprouts, tender gnocchi, and the sauces– just unbelievably good. We definitely splurged on this dinner reservation, but it was worth every penny. We tried out other places we saw, which were endorsed by travel and food shows, but this place blew them out of the water. Save your money and don’t waste your time– just come here.

Memorable. Everything was executed beautifully and tasted delicious. Set in an intimate, cellar-like room, warm, dim lighting and impeccable service make for the perfect dining experience, whether it’s a special occasion with friends or loved ones, family, or perhaps a client you want to impress!

Anthony Bourdain was right! This place is amazing. I must say I was impressed with the food and the different flavors on one plate that happens to go perfectly together. Only problem with this restaurant is that the portions are miniature. What surprised me is that even though the portions were small somehow at the end of the dinner we were satisfied. We ordered the scallops(1 scallop per person) and the tuna with sweetbreads for appetizer and for main course we shared the deer w gnocchi. We didn’t order dessert but they surprised us with an ice cream and tart at the end! Love when this happens :)

Ensuite pour le plat principal le surf and turf leur plat signature une queue d’homard avec du boeuf wagu la cuisson était parfaite. Je conseille ce restaurant a n’importe qui

Took me many years before I actually try this place. It was an amazing experience. I started with the ginger martini, unique & delicious! Then we shared about 5 entrees, all of them very good. Among all 5, the scallops really impressed me, simple put perfectly cooked. The sweetbreads, risotto, tartare were also really good. As for a main, most of us decided to go with Club chasse & peche. Steak and lobster + lobster risottos. I thought it would be too much but the portion was perfect. I just found it was a little overpriced(60 $) for what you get. Overall, it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had in Montréal, but I personally still prefer their other address(Filet).

Chasse et Peche is a very nice restaurant nestled in Old Port. Inside reminded me a bit of Gibby’s – low ceilings, exposed stone walls. We went for a fairly early dinner(6PM) so it was rather quiet but it continued to pick up as the meal went on. Fine dining vibes without being too pretentious. Service was definitely a highlight. Our server explained the entire menu in great detail and was very attentive. We started with oysters and tried two of each kind – all were delicious. For the main, I couldn’t resist the«Chasse et Peche» after hearing the waiter describe it. The surf and turf platter was outstanding, with each meat/seafood prepared perfectly and a fantastic sauce to go with it. Overall a great experience at Chasse et Peche! P. S. make sure you write down the address or you’ll walk right by the door without a sign!

Came here for brothers birthday dinner. Didn’t start out well due to the long wait to order and the drinks weren’t great. But this food? Was spectacular. Probably the best restaurant I’ve been to especially with all three courses. I started with the hamachi tartar and it’s probably the best I’ve ever had. So creamy and delicious. I ordered the surf and turf which that night was half a lobster on top of a 75 day aged filet of veal. Both were cooked perfectly and it was a perfect entrée. I finished with the bomb dessert. As everyone says on these reviews, it’s great! Only problem is it melts pretty quickly so eat it fast! If ever in Montréal, I will visit 100%!

The outside of the restaurant is humble and low profile. Since it was hard to see the inside from the outside, I thought that the restaurant was a small tranquil place. Once I entered, I knew that I was wrong. The place was packed with so many people. There was so many things going on. The staff were moving left and right, the customers were smiling, the place was bigger than I expected, and the décor was inviting. Imagine being inside of an inn or a castle during medieval times, that. As for the food, my entrée was bison ravioli which was good. The dessert of frozen maple parfait was alright but my main dish of surf ‘n’ turf was amazing. The meats were perfectly cooked and the seasoning was spot on. Very memorable dish. Overall, a good restaurant suggested by many reviewers and I can see why.
