Mont Tremblant Ski Resort

Last update, promise.
Went Friday January 22, beautiful sunny day, not too cold. Crowds were not too bad, though TGV and Duncan had 20 minute waits around 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Why? Because they only groomed 40 runs. And it must have been the new guy — very gnarly, really crappy. They opened one run on Soliel. It was a nice bowing alley in the ice shoot near the bottom — very dodgy and lots of morons flying through with no respect for anyone. At least we got in a lot more skiing than on a weekend — until everything was skied out at noon. I cannot upgrade my rating. It was better, but a long way from good value. Well, at least I made my contribution to the Intrawest fund for disheartened skiers.

Wow, feels like being in the French Alps. I can’t believe this place is so close to New York. It’s so much better than Vermont and only a few hours further. It’s the best skiing I’ve ever done in the east!

I’ve been coming to tremblant for years and have noticed a steady decline in the overall experience. During the most recent trip I found the whole mountain was very disorganized and I got the sense that the staff don’t really care knowing this is the most popular mountain in Canada east of the Rockies.
The mountain was ridiculously busy and you were basically dodging other people as you went down instead of skiing! Lines to lifts were over an hour long and people were cutting in everywhere. You’d think there would be a staff person around to keep order when the mountain is this busy but this was not the case. As a result I observed multiple fights break out which is not what you want to see on vacation! What was even worse was the decision to not groom the snow. Ice and moguls were everywhere they weren’t supposed to be and I’ve never seen as many people wipe out/​get injured.
Overall it would be great if you could at least be warned of these terrible conditions as you pay $ 100 to ski until 3pm! For a resort of international acclaim tremblant needs to step it up before they become another has-​been resort.

We stopped here in our way driving through the laurentian mountains and had to stay the night because we loved it. Pay for the gondola up to the summit as the views are worth it. However if you stay at the resort most hotels include the ticket to the gondola.

So beautiful. My 5 stars is going to the mountain not the hotels or stores because honestly I wasn’t a huge fan. The mountain though was absolutely breathtaking. Also the little village on the bottom is very quiet and everything closes very early even the mountain so be prepared.

This review is for the summertime. I came up to the summit to enjoy the beautiful view of the long Lake Tremblant, and it did not disappoint. You can buy round trip gondola tickets with lunch included. I thought the lunch deal was pretty good and you get a choice of sandwich, hot dogs, and burgers with drink for around $ 10 Canadian. For a tourist area, it ain’t bad. In addition, you can eat this outside on the patio that has a view of the lake and hills.
I did the 360 trail, which in all honesty wasn’t that great. Not that many view points. Most of the time you’re in the woods dealing with mud. The observation tower was closed when we went so that was a bummer.

Sans blagues, Mont-​Tremblay est situé dans un parc National SEPAQ (du Mont-​Tremblant) est est carrément un domaine gigantesque. En plus du village de ski et de la montagne en tant que tel, plusieurs projets immobiliers y trônent et aussi les fameux terrains de golf Le Géant et la Bête. Quand j’étais petite on allait se promener en vélo et on dînait proche du fleuve sur une table a picnic, de bons souvenirs.
La montagne de ski en tant que tel est magnifique. Le domaine skiable est vaste, varié, et conçu pour tous les types de skieurs. Les remontées mécaniques sont récentes (pour la plupart) et les plans sont simples a comprendre même pour les plus désorientés d’entre nous. Il y a deux chalets: un sur le côté nord (ou on peut amener ses lunchs et il y a aussi un stationnement) et un en haut de la gondole, sur le dessus de la montagne. Les choix de repas offerts sont variés, mais les prix sont exorbitants et il manqué de place a l’heure du lunch, c’est le chaos.
Pour les amateurs des sports de glisse, Tremblant est vraiment une place géniale pour son terrain et sa variété.

J’ai toujours trouvé que le Mont Tremblant est un centre de ski surévalué. Oui, il s’agit de la plus haute montagne skiable des Laurentides mais la réputation de l’endroit est surfaite. Voici pourquoi :
À 76 $ (environs 85 $ incluant les taxes) pour une passé d’un jour, il s’agit de la montagne la plus chère au Québec. Les conditions météo très froides de la région font que les pistes deviennent vite glacées. L’enneigement n’est pas toujours au rendez-​vous. Les pistes ferment à 15h en après-​midi alors qu’il fait soleil au moins jusqu’à 16h (même en janvier). Le but de cette fermeture précoce est de forcer les touristes à aller boire et manger dans le petit village artificiel construit à grands frais aux pieds des pistes. Des montagnes plus hautes telle que Ste-​Anne, Le Massif et Jay Peak (VT) offrent toutes des billets de journée moins cher et le ski s’arrête plus tard. À Tremblant, pas de ski en soirée.
En été, l’endroit offre une série d’activités familiales plus ou moins intéressantes. Le seul véritable intérêt est de marcher jusqu’au sommet par les sentiers pédestre. La satisfaction d’avoir vaincu le sommet est vite gâchée par la présence de nombreux touristes «Kodak «qui arrivent en utilisant les télécabines.
Conclusion: Tremblant a depuis longtemps perdu son cachet de charmant village des Laurentides. Des promoteurs agressifs ont voulu transformer l’endroit en centre de ski de calibre international. Sans méchanceté, Tremblant né fait pas le poids face aux grandes station de ce monde. Au Québec, vous trouverez des montagnes qui offrent une meilleure qualité de ski et à meilleurs prix.
Au fil des ans, Tremblant est devenu l’endroit parfait du «m’as-tu vu? «, ou encore du «I wanna be «comme ont dit si bien en anglais. Pour les vrais skieurs à la recherché d’une véritable expérience de ski, je suggère d’autres montagnes.
