History

Established in 2008.

After a lifelong desire to create a unique, cozy and delicious dining experience L’Avalanche was born. Located in a historic chalet in the heart of Mont-​Tremblant ski resort. The building was built in the late 1930’s and was once home of Joseph Bondurant Ryan, the founder of Mont-​Tremblant! With the help of the stylistic talents of Avalanche Bistro Design Team– what was once an old winter ski chalet is now an enchanting dinning getaway.

Food was amazing!!! Such an adorable cozy restaurant!
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is the staff wasn’t very friendly, the service was fine but could have been better. I would go back for sure.

Okay food for ridiculous price. When I came in waiter told me their salmon tataki, steak on skewers, and tartars were the best… Well only tartar was ok, the rest was pretty miserable.
Beef was in some crazy soy Ginger sauce that was so strong you wont taste beef. Tataki was also in some sauce that I did not appreciate at all. Tartars were ok but suspiciously way too tender.
Drinks were ok — we had 1 glass of Pinot grigio (nothing special) and 2 long islands since I did not trust their wine selection any longer.
Total for 3 tapas, 1 tartar, 1 glass of wine and 2 cocktails came out to $ 140. Ridiculous.

This is a nice Tapas type of place in the mountain-​side village of Mount Tremblant. There are three sectors to Mount Tremblant. This location is st the base of the ski lifts. We really liked the Québécois Foie Gras although it was pricey. We had other small plates which were all good. Service was spotty; they made a mistake with two orders but fixed them eventually. Drinks are nice and strong.

Was in Tremblant last week and lucked into choosing this place for dinner. Among all the other bars, pasta and burger joints on the mountain, this was an oasis of fine dining.
Fortunately I was with people who like trying different plates, so we split several dishes from the tapas menu. Each one was better than the last.
We ordered the Earth Sampler, including a melt-​in-​your-​mouth it was so tender filet mignon, an addictive beef tartare, and some bacon wrapped chicken. We also had the very fresh salmon tataki and endive leaves stuffed with blue cheese and apple.
The food was amazing, the servers were nice but a bit slow. (that’s why the 4 stars instead of 5) The patio outside looked lovely but was full, and the inside was rustic in an authentic ski-​resort fashion.
If you are ever in Tremblant, this is where you should eat first.
