We recently had a loved one pass and decided to choose this location for his service. The people who work there are compassionate and caring. They didn’t mind working for you and that’s a big thing when your loved one passes on. When we arrived, there was always someone there to greet you with a smile. But not a overly happy smile, a compassionate one. The staff was wonderful. The person who was directing on the day of the funeral is just so perfect for his job. He spoke clear, was informative, and on time. Unfortunately I can’t remember his name. But he was a young man who wore glasses to drive. Every demand was met and more. The place was very clean and tissue boxes were placed everywhere. We had the service done in the chapel and was just peaceful and perfect. The lounge needs a fridge for cream but other than that things were good. The price was average like any other places around. It’s the service you can’t buy. I highly recommend this funeral home to people as I am an incredibly stuck up person when it comes to customer service as I have worked in it my entire life. There’s only a few places around now that I can honestly say my family and I were completely satisfied with the service provided. It’s funny how a funeral home was one of them but it’s an important one!

Is it weird to review a funeral home? I guess so, but at least it’ll give anyone who’s reading this review an idea of what it’s like on the inside. Unfortunately, I’ve had to come here on a coupla occasions within the last few years and the interior is surprisingly modern, yet warm, and NOT creepy. There are skylights, so each room is nicely lit. Just alongside to one of the rooms on the ground floor is a self-serve café where family/relatives can take some time to make their own coffee/tea and chat. I’ve also been to a room upstairs and it was welcoming as well. Staff at T&P seemed very respectful from the beginning straight to end of service. So don’t let 1 unfavourable review discourage you!

We dealt with Turner & Porter during the recent passing of my grandmother. It takes a special group of people to handle such a sensitive matter properly, and these folks did it well. Jennifer was whom we dealt with most, she was caring and respectful for the entire process. She offered appropriate guidance as we moved through each step, and even called a place for lunch for our family when we forgot to reserve in advance. A funeral is never a pleasant experience, however, choosing the right people to help you through the process is extremely important. I would not hesitate to recommend the people at Turner and Porter.

These people were unfriendly and charged 4k to burn my father in a cardboard box and get his remains in a zip lock baggie. They were not sympathetic and the funeral director spoke quickly and was confrontational when asked about the cost and terms of payment.(They wanted payment immediately.) They wanted my mother to come to the funeral home to sign documents, and when I explained that she was busy weeping in her bed and unable to make the trip. I asked if I could pick up the paperwork and bring it to her to sign, and then bring it back to the funeral home. The gentleman on the phone told me this was NOT an option and she MUST come to sign it. I went to the funeral home without my mother and picked up the paperwork and took it for her to sign. The man I dealt with(not the same person on the phone) had no problem with this. In summary this place is very expensive and we got nothing. Abrupt, unpleasant, and misinformed staff. There was one nice fellow at the end who came to deliver death certificates, he was charming and his personality was benign. It’s too bad there is no time to shop around for funeral homes. No one will ever read this review it will never help anyone because who checks Unilocal reviews after their loved one drops dead.
